A study conducted by Swansea University for the British group Faith Matters has found that UK citizens are increasingly interested in Islam, with the number of converts to Islam nearly doubling in 10 years. An estimated total of 100,000 have converted to Islam, 5,200 of them in 2010.
In 2001, it was estimated that 60,000 British citizens had converted to Islam.
Of the most recent converts, two-thirds are women. Most are white and native to Britain. The average age of new converts is 27.
One in four believe there is a “natural conflict” between being devoutly Muslim and being a British citizen. More than half said they had met with a negative response from family regarding their conversion.
When asked what they believe to be the negative aspects of British society, the converts cited alcohol consumption, “sexual permissiveness,” and “unrestrained consumerism.”
Similar studies in France and Germany found that approximately 4,000 people convert to Islam each year in both countries.
Faith Matters director Fiyaz Mughal said the precise number of converts to Islam is unknown, but that it is clear that the number has “risen dramatically” over the past decade. Converts could play an important role in both British and Muslim society by helping to reconcile the two worlds, and by “disentangling cultural norms… which blur the true essence of Islam,” Mughal opined.
Britain has faced challenges integrating its Muslim population. A 2008 report showed that one-third of Muslim students justified killing in the name of religion, and a recent BBC report found that thousands of Muslim children in Britain are being taught to hate Jews, Israelis, and homosexuals.
In some cases British Muslims have actively fought Israel, by sending aid to Hamas in Gaza or by joining Hamas in Gaza.
In 2009 the government decided to combat homegrown Muslim terrorism with a program to screen Muslim schoolchildren for potential terrorists.

Liberal/left alliances with this savagely reacctionary force simply cannot hold. The internal contradiction is simply too heavy to bear. A change is gonna come.
During my first and thus far, only (I intend for there to be more) visit to Israel, one of my tour guides was an elderly woman whose son married a British girl. Their parents came over for a visit. Her observation about them, to the extent that they seemed to reflect the British mindset, was that they “…just didn’t seem to care about anything anymore”.
They’ve completely had the guts ripped out of them. The back-to-back bloodlettings of WW1/WW2, combined with post-colonialism and ultra-liberalism, these are the probable culprits. Explains to a greater or lesser extent much of postwar European behavior.

Yep, being about the most anti-Israel country in Western Europe sure has gotten them all sorts of help and sympathy from “moderate Moslems” who are positively lining up to help them fight the “extremists”, just like Obama hopes to accomplish here!]
I’ve often read that the churches in Europe resemble museums; they have among the lowest religious attendance and professed belief in G-d of any polity in the world (actually, on this latter score, the Brits do better than most continental Europeans).
When you don’t believe in anything at all, one is easily impressed by someone who believes in SOMETHING, no matter how horrific.
These people, who couldn’t even be bothered to resist the complete denial of the basic right of personal self defense (it is pretty much impossible to own any sort of firearm in Britain anymore), look at these barbaric homicide bombers and they ask themselves, “Where would I have to be before I would do something like that? These people REALLY believe in something, and anyone who believes in something THAT much, well, there must be something to that!”
Hence, conversion. AND, “safety” (if you can’t lick ’em, join ’em). Misplaced admiration of “bravery” combined with extreme cowardice, all in one.

There are still some Europeans with guts, though. The Poles are not cowards, and BTW – and not coincidentally – are among Israel’s best friends in Europe today. They are still a very Catholic country, too. The Moslems sure aren’t going to make any headway there. Funny, considering the way Poland sticks up for Israel, how we dont’ hear about Islamist terrorist plots being hatched there…..Suppose they might be on to something?
Obama reflects precisely the trends we see in the UK, though. The sooner we get rid of him, the better. If he gets re-elected, we are going to wind up like Britian.

One of my Orthodox rabbis (i have had 3 because they keep moving away on me) told me to stay away from the egaltarian which is no problem because I got some bad advice from a couple of egaltarian rabbis. Maybe this is another reason why people are converting to Islam. They want to be part of a religion that helps to keep them on a straight path and they arent given alternatives? But how can anyone convert to a religion especially women that sanctions rape and torture and killing? Or are these moderates that dont fully practise sharia law? Just like the catholic. I know hundreds of those but NONE of them practise catholicism as outlined by the vatican. Pardon me. Actually I know only one couple who does.

Andrew I can never forgive the Brits for their actions here in Palestine from the 1930’s till 48. First siding with the Arabs and reneging on the Balfour promises when they chopped 3/4 of the mandate for a few hundred thousand Bedouin from Iraq, then the white paper, all the time supporting the Arabs of Palestine and arming them against the Jews. The blocking of Palestine to the Jews places them just below the Germans as our enemies. Then from 45 to 48 they blocked Jewish refugees from the Camps from coming here. The excuse they gave was it would upset the Arabs. What? The second most powerful empire in the world afraid of few primitive Arabs? No it was always hatred of Jews and as a consequence I feel what has happened to Britain can only be explained from a Jewish point of view as Measure for Measure. Yes the British did some good as they built the national infrastructure but then so did Hitler and Mussolini.
The British in their arrogance sent the best of the native colonials to be educated in England and these same colonials returned to their home countries and they threw the British out. Britain has been on a downward spiral since WWI. They will never recover as will most of Europe today. Their time has come and passed. Empires rise and fall and historically they always fall.
There is no question that non-Jews remain just that when they convert to anything that is not Judaism, such as “reform”. Could it be that in your community the Jewish Chevra Kadish (burial society) is not willing to sort them out, because the problem of so many generations of intermarriage is rampant?
Could it also be that the “reform” have their own separate burial arrangements? That is common.
Where I live the Reform Jews or those who converted to Reform Judaism are not allowed to be burried in a Jewish cemetery because they are not considered Jews but Egletarians are considered real Jews with a right of return and proper burial in a Jewish cemetery.
