Unmasking Comedian Zelensky’s Deception and His True Role in the War on the Global Stage

Peloni:  Reality is being discussed more and more openly as the cult of God-like perception of Zelensky continues to crumble under closer examination following Trump having described the Ukrainian leader as the less than savory despotic chieftain which has long been clear for anyone willing to weigh the facts fairly.

By Amil Imani| Am Thinker | Feb 24, 2025

When Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky quickly became a global symbol of resistance.

Celebrated as a heroic leader standing up against a powerful foe, he appeared on television screens worldwide, calling for support and unity in the face of the Russian threat.

However, beneath this image of a brave wartime leader lies a far more complex and troubling reality.

Zelensky’s rise to power and subsequent actions indicate that he is not merely the victim of an unjust invasion but a figurehead influenced by external forces.

As President Trump pointed out in his controversial remarks, the reality is that Zelensky’s actions and alliances tell a different story — one that portrays him more as a puppet of the West than a true statesman.

Volodymyr Zelensky’s backstory is distinctive. Before entering politics, he was an actor and comedian, starring in the popular Ukrainian TV show “Servant of the People,” where he played a high school teacher who unexpectedly became Ukraine’s president.

Although it was a fictional premise, the show resonated with many Ukrainians, reflecting their dissatisfaction with the political establishment and their desire for change. What began as a clever satirical narrative soon transformed into a tragic reality: Zelensky, known for portraying the president on television, became the actual president of Ukraine.

Zelensky’s election in 2019 was fueled by his connection to the T.V. show and the “Servant of the People” political party.

Much like his acting career, this party was influenced by the media. While Zelensky presented himself as an outsider committed to reforming the corrupt political system, his ascent to power was not organic. His campaign was meticulously orchestrated by political consultants and Western interests, making his transition from comedian to president more about foreign influence than democratic choice.

Zelensky’s presidency is closely tied to the history of Western interference in Ukraine.

In 2014, after the removal of pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych, the United States played a crucial role in destabilizing Ukraine’s government. The infamous leaked conversation between U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt, in which Nuland discussed who should form the new Ukrainian government, highlighted the extent of U.S. involvement.

Essentially, the West orchestrated a coup that ousted Yanukovych, whom they viewed as too neutral, especially concerning Ukraine’s relationships with the European Union.

This intervention ultimately established the groundwork for Zelensky’s rise to power. While his administration claims independence, U.S. foreign policy has significantly influenced Ukraine since 2014. As the leader of a pro-Western Ukraine, Zelensky is not simply a product of the popular vote, but also of strategic geopolitical maneuvering by powerful external actors.

One of the most striking contradictions of Zelensky’s presidency is his alliance with far-left groups in Ukraine, particularly the Azov Battalion. Despite being a Jewish president, Zelensky’s government has relied on groups with neo-Nazi ties to combat Russian forces in eastern Ukraine.

The Azov Battalion is notorious for its use of neo-Nazi symbols, such as the Wolfsangel and Sonnenrad, yet Zelensky’s government has continued to collaborate with them. This alliance raises serious questions about his commitment to the democratic values he claims to uphold.

Zelensky’s connections to such groups represent a broader issue in Ukrainian politics: the merging of far-right extremism with governmental authority. While Zelensky presents himself as a champion of democracy, his associations with these groups reveal his administration’s corrupt and morally compromised nature. It is not surprising that Zelensky’s government has been labeled among the most corrupt in Europe, with links to neo-Nazi factions further eroding his credibility as a leader of the free world.

While Zelensky’s image as a democratic leader has been central to his global appeal, his actions suggest otherwise. In November 2023, he announced the suspension of Ukraine’s elections, citing the ongoing war and Ukraine’s constitution.

This decision, though framed as a necessary wartime measure, reveals a concerning trend of consolidating power.

According to Ukraine’s constitution, presidential and parliamentary elections are prohibited during martial law; nonetheless, Zelensky’s five-year term expired in March 2024, and he has made it clear that he will not hold elections.

Zelensky’s suppression of opposition voices further signals his authoritarian tendencies. He has shut down political parties that challenge his government, censored critical media outlets, and even threatened journalists with conscription. In one of the most tragic examples of his intolerance for dissent, Ukrainian journalist Gonzalo Lira, a Chilean-American who criticized Zelensky’s handling of the war, was arrested, tortured, and ultimately died in custody in January 2024.

The Ukrainian government, under Zelensky’s leadership, has demonstrated a complete disregard for freedom of speech and human rights.

These actions evoke authoritarian regimes that suppress opposition and silence the press under the guise of national unity or security. Zelensky’s refusal to permit elections, coupled with his persecution of journalists and political opponents, portrays a leader more focused on retaining power than on upholding the democratic values he professes to support.

Zelensky’s stance on NATO has also contributed to escalating the conflict with Russia. While NATO’s expansion eastward in defiance of promises made to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in 1990 has been a significant point of tension, Zelensky’s aspirations for Ukraine to join NATO have exacerbated the situation. NATO’s consistent encroachment on Russia’s borders, coupled with Zelensky’s insistence on aligning Ukraine with the West, has placed Ukraine in the crosshairs of Russian military aggression.

From Russia’s perspective, the desire for a neutral Ukraine is understandable.

The 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis showed the United States’ willingness to verge on war to prevent Soviet missiles from being stationed just 90 miles from its shores.

However, Zelensky and Western leaders have overlooked Russia’s concerns about NATO’s expansion and the threat it poses to Russian security. Instead, Zelensky continues to advocate for closer ties with NATO, despite the risks to his country.

While many in the West have criticized those suggesting dialogue with Russia, President Trump has advocated for a more pragmatic approach. Trump’s understanding of Russia’s desire for a neutral Ukraine is a crucial perspective in the pursuit of peace. However, Zelensky has chosen to continue an endless war, perpetuating suffering and destruction while ignoring the possibility of a peaceful resolution.

Trump’s call for diplomacy with Russia isn’t about siding with Putin, as many critics claim, but about finding a resolution to an unwinnable war. Zelensky’s refusal to negotiate, despite the rising toll of human life and destruction, underscores his role in prolonging the conflict. If the world hopes to see peace in Ukraine, Zelensky’s leadership must be reconsidered, and his war-driven agenda should be scrutinized.

The global narrative surrounding Zelensky as a hero fighting for democracy warrants examination. His rise as a television comedian, his connections to extremist groups, his authoritarian tendencies, and his role in prolonging the war all indicate a leader far removed from the idealized image presented in the media. Zelensky is not a man of the people; he is a product of geopolitical manipulation, a puppet utilized by the West to advance its interests.

The world must look beyond Zelensky’s façade as a martyr and recognize him for what he truly represents: a leader swayed by external influences whose actions have contributed to ongoing conflict, suffering, and oppression. Achieving peace in Ukraine will require more than just the withdrawal of Russian forces; it will also necessitate Zelensky’s removal and a reevaluation of the factors that have fueled this devastating war.

  1. His name is Joseph Alexander Norland, not “Norland”. Since you use the site show respect to it’s founder.

And before we continue another inch explain your past slander of Leon Trotsky.

Only a Fascist would slander Trotsky as you have done. Calling Trotsky a “murdering bastard”.

    Would you like to apologise?

  2. @fquigley I asked when Norland founded Israpundit and have you been commenting on it that long? And Israel has a parliamentary system that is governed by coalition, i.e. United Front.

  3. Sebastien

“Israel was right to stick with Trump at the UN Jonathan Tobin JNS. ”

I have little regard for Tobin in any case. What has he achieved.

Israel had to back Russia and it was the correct thing to do

    Since Russia is fighting Neonazis

    Well done.

On the issue of unity..I ask unity on what political programme?

  4. @fquigly Anachronistic fantasy, ad hominem attacks, e.g. accusing someone of trickery, and treachery, and hyperbole, aside, if Netanyahu steps down or there are new elections tomorrow, what then? Is there anyone better or even as good who has a chance of being PM? What is your opinion? Nothing you spoke of will happen in the near or forseeable future. That’s not where Israel’s fault lines are. There’s no demand for it but we’ve seen what happens when Jews revolt and fight each other. It led to the destruction of Jerusalem and Judea and it led to Oct. 7th. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Begin and Katz understood this in the runup to the war of independence and so does Netanyahu to put his occasional appeasement in perspective. And so did Khamenei, who crowed about it in the runup to Oct. 7. But Israelis rallied and came together much to the enemy’s dismay.

  5. Sebastien Zorn

Cut with the past and all this trickery of Netanyahu and of Peloni who is an extension of Belman and his actions against Joseph Alexander Norland who founded israpundit (not Belman) in conditions similar to the actions of Peloni and his israpundit clique against me.

We have Lenin and more Trotsky and the books and memory like yesterday

And luckily we have this new study of Ukrainian Pogroms which these feckers on israpundit have refused to touch with a bargepole

A Trotskyist PARTY to lead Israel and expose the historical ignorance of this ignorant buffoon Peloni and others like Edgar who are immersed in the same ignorance.

    Time to get moving

  6. SEB-

Yes it was I who mentioned Reagan. I’d forgotten about LBJ. But even he chickened out when it came to breaking Nasser’s blockade of the Red Sea although it was a distinct “causus Bella” for Israel and entitled Israel to positive US aid and active help/ He became suddenly weak and tried to get an international consortium (i think was the word he used) with a group of ships and failed,. so withdrew from the situation

It was a long time ago but I think my memory accurate.

So in my opinion Reagan, who’d known and liked many Jews in Hollywood and Californian politics, ,was the last President who was less influenced by an international “consortium” and more outspoken, in defending Israel certainly…even though he also had political “limits’

  7. Sebastien Zorn

And what has your way done for Israel

You sit here pontificating as the great pure Zionist on top of this pile of sxxx which Belman and Peloni have put together

Remember that purge you conducted here a few years ago

It was a result of that that you referred to Trotsky as “a murdering bastard”

And you have had your knife out for me since.

The sooner Netanyahu exits the better. He is gormless

The sooner Jews turn definitively to Trotsky the better

But it will be on all your political graves.

All of you have completely ballsed up Israel.

Netanyahu should have been dropped on October 7 finish of him and his judiciary along with him.

Strict secularism inside the IDF a vital requirement

  8. @Sebastien Zorn

So how do any of those examples support Reader’s contention that Reagan tried to be a free agent?

I never said anything about Reagan.

If you don’t think JFK tried to act as a free agent, I won’t argue.

You and I use different methods of reasoning about politics.

  9. @Edgar So how do any of those examples support Reader’s contention that Reagan tried to be a free agent? The first sentence of that paragraph reads:

In its Middle East policy the Kennedy administration made little effort to change the evenhanded approach pursued by its predecessors.

As well as his successors until Trump.

It was LBJ who changed U.S.Middle East policy. LBJ was a philosemite who forged visas for Jews in the 30’s, blocked and deflected Eisenhower’s diplomatic attack on Israel in the 50’s as House Majority Leader and began U.S. aid to Israel in the ‘ 60s. JFk only began selling defensive missiles to Israel while increasing aid to Egypt. That’s the only change he made. Among other things LBJ changed in Israel’s favor. That’s what the article is about. You should read it. RFK loved Israel and was assassinated by a Jordanian-Palestinian terrorist with U.S. citizenship for it but not JFK who continued the policy of making pro-Israel speeches while giving Israel a hard time and sucking up to her enemies, “another ambidexter philosopher” like Churchill. While I deplore JFK’s assassination, of course, I can’t for the life of me, grasp what all the hype about him was about. Seems like just smoke and mirrors, to me. But then I was a baby when he was elected so I never fell under his spell. I think he was a mediocre president. And no friend of Israel. To me, JFK is about as memorable as President James Buchanan (1857-1861).

  10. SEB-

Nah…. Reagan. JFK was elected with help from Mafia and Mayor Daly of Chicago, the most corrupt official likely in history of the US..They actually cheated Nixon out of it. He had multiple grounds for a recount and dispute
as he actually won, but he said ‘No, it would damage the reputation of the Presidency. (paraphrased)
    .
Reagan was Gov of California for 7 years before becoming Pres..well experienced in officialdom.
JFK MUST have been under secret obligations to the Mob..

He’d never have been so tough with Cuba if the Mafia operations were still there. (That’s where Myer Lansky lost his multimillions about 30 +)

Your large highlight shows his anti Israel (Jew) attitude.

  11. @Reader

The last American president who might have tried to act as a free agent, in my opinion, was JFK.

In its Middle East policy the Kennedy administration made little effort to change the evenhanded approach pursued by its predecessors. As part of an all-out effort to win the affections of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, Kennedy pushed hard for large increases in aid to Egypt and in early 1962 instructed his UN ambassador to vote to condemn Israel in the Security Council following an Israeli retaliatory strike in Syria.

Kennedy also constantly prodded Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion on the issue of Arab refugees – Secretary of State Dean Rusk wanted Israel to agree to take back at least 10 percent of the total number of Arabs who had left Israel since 1948 – and even more so on Israel’s nuclear weapons program, which became something of an obsession for Kennedy and his foreign policy advisers.

  12. @fquiigley

I think it is a fact that there’s a major difference between Trump and Biden… …Do you agree?

I agree that every American president is different BUT I am convinced that NO American president is a free agent who makes his own independent policy and drives the whole of the USA in any direction he personally chooses, and I fail to understand why the vast majority chooses to endow these people with almost God-like powers.

In other words, while their personalities are different and their policies may look different, every American president pursues the same goal and, in this respect, he is NOT a free agent.

The last American president who might have tried to act as a free agent, in my opinion, was JFK.

To find out what I think about Trump’s apparent turnaround and his “humble” recognition of the rightness of the Russian cause and of the corruption and aggression of Ukraine in general and Zelensky in particular – please, scroll down to my earlier comments where I explained it in detail.

To make it short – I think that Trump is attempting a great CON on BOTH Ukraine and Russia (and trying to fool the rest of the world in the process) – it looks like it has already worked with Ukraine – they have agreed to the rare earth elements, etc. deal.

Here is an interesting opinion about the situation:

    https://www.rt.com/news/613328-colombian-president-zelensky-stupidity/

  13. Dreuveni

Your reference to the Coup. This was the Maidan Coup, pronounced MaiDON

WHICH WAS a large open area where competing protesters assembled

It grew into extreme violence at the end of February involving Banderaism Neonazis and hired snipers

The elected President did not leave he fled to save his life.

The Neonazis had a visceral hatred of Russia and Russians. But that was linked to the damaging to Jews myth of Jewish Bolshevism.

THAT MOMENT WAS WHEN THE WAR STARTED

  14. I would need to locate the comments but your action against me was both extreme in its obvious hatred, you using your never before used measure of taking away my free expression to rightful criticism, with a savage attack INCLUDED on me being a “Communist” not making clear that I being a Trotskyist Communist is far more a fighter against Stalinism also.

And your role has been to ignore vital positions I have taken up which were a true Trotskyist position over many years and more especially lately on how to fight against the October 7 pogrom of Jews.

My position has been constant that since you are an extreme denier of the science of global warming of the planet, against ALL science, and similar on coronavirus, that you cannot be a leader in other fields. It has to carry through.

The American state as a whole is characterised by the open Fascism of the Democrats behind the Ukrainian Banderaism

And the open Fascism of MAGA republican party characterized by their hatred and lies about the Mrna vaccine

And you are on the very extreme of that Fascism

And here you are as editor of Israpundit using every opportunity to push that science denial on the pages of israpundit.

You are so extreme in this regard, and of extreme fascist Antivaxxers, that you even join the ignorant mob of MAGA against Trump when he welcomed the CEO of Pfizer to his palaver. They bayed thereby their ignorant hatred of the vaccine. Reminiscent of Hitler Nazi times.

In fact the whole of israpundit is now a stinking mess of science denial or denialism

This makes a laughing stock out of the Jewish people being a light for humanity to follow. So congratulations on a wonderful achievement Mr Peloni 1968

On October 7 the Jewish Zionist leaders centred on the government of Netanyahu have shown extreme incompetence

It is leadership which is rotten to the core. But then you as editor ignored my Trotskyism tactics of how to proceed.

Didn’t even merit a proverbial raised eyebrow from a single soul on the super Israpundit

Now we are faced with the result.

That’s the context of your censoring attack on me which was all part of ignoring my at the very least point of view and I think actually method of winning against the forces of Antisemitism.

At least though you identified as a Fascist hater of Trotskyism Communism which you had not done up until this point in time

  15. @fquigley

I disagree with your interpretation. And .my difference with you was hundred percent political and not personal.

Yes, they are one hundred percent political, but your comments were significantly and often personal, which is why I gave you the warning about ad hominem attacks. It was not something I did lightly, and I actually disliked having to do so, which is why I only did so after you made many distasteful comments. In any event, I do appreciate a robust debate, but such a debate needs to be maintained on an intellectual rather than personal level – as you have been doing in your recent comments, for which I am very appreciative.

  16. I am always amazed by the short memories people have. Ukraine has been a hotbed of treachery for a long time now and the previous president of Ukraine was removed by a coup… and so on.

As far as the present situation is concerned, Ukraine started bombing and shelling the provinces close to the Russian border about 10 years ago and although I never saw reports about this, it seems that the Russians moved in to try to protect the mostly Russian-ethnic people living in that region. The areas overrun by Russia voted to become independent with a leaning towards Russia which is an undesirable result for the west and especially for the previous US regime that had built and used “off-shore” laboratories in Ukraine. There is also the undisclosed sex-trafficing issue that needs a lot of attention. However, as long as the rich are getting richer (which at the moment they aren’t) there is a major push to keep the gravy train running.

  17. Peloni you write

“There was no threat made to you outside of reminding you of the ad hominem policy on this site, for which you had brazenly and repeatedly violated. I do appreciate adhering to this policy since then”

I disagree with your interpretation. And .my difference with you was hundred percent political and not personal.

    How could it be otherwise?

To offset your very dangerous political positions on this site I believe what you say has to be continually fact checked, especially in the field of climate change and vaccines and also…well just about everything.

And it is in my right to do that! Even more it is a necessity.

Gee, ya think? Especially now that Biden is no longer twisting Israel’s arm and Bibi and Trump just held a joint press conference announcing they are working in sync and can’t reveal everything they are planning? So, Bibi should cross Trump to support a hostile actor on an issue in which Israel has no skin in the game, whatsoever? Aside from the merits of the case. Why? “moral grounds?” What’s moral about it?

  20. @fquigley

after censoring threats made by the editors to this writer some weeks ago

There was no threat made to you outside of reminding you of the ad hominem policy on this site, for which you had brazenly and repeatedly violated. I do appreciate adhering to this policy since then.

  21. Reader

I think it is a fact that there’s a major difference between Trump and Biden

Biden was risking nuclear war over Ukraine

Biden would not talk with Putin.

That has changed under Trump and has removed that Biden danger

    Do you agree?

  22. While there is good reporting in the article it was never an invasion in the usual meaning of invasion. It was a SMO.

There now needs to be a full time FACT CHECKING operation on israpundit.

The aims (of the SMO) included denazification of Ukraine

AND ANOTHER FACT…Also they clearly murdered Gonzalo Lira who was a full American citizen.

Lira was simply a left wing political opponent to the regime.

Plus Biden and trump are different in the situation. Biden welcomed nuclear obliteration. You could depend on the Neocons for that. That’s all they offered the world.

Still trump and Maga are not based on science and the Health guy Kennedy opposes mRna vaccines and fills the news with lies

It must be noted Trump supported rightly the vaccines as answer to COVID which was a true Pandemic.

Plus the earth continues to warm caused by the key greenhouse gas co2 in the specific situation. Which Keely says he knows better than all of science.

With this denial of science in tow it will be Impossible to find rational solutions to anything…and will signify human descent into the irrational.

The Fact Checking operation on israpundit has become doubly necessary and as an indubitable right of longstanding contributors here after censoring threats made by the editors to this writer some weeks ago. Fact checking, the concept is that there is a need and affirms that there are now lies being systematically spread on israpundit. The lies are in the field of science but that must include all of politics as well – since we exist inside a world governed by physics

  23. @Adam

You have apparently refused to post my commentent

Your post was too long, which is why it was flagged. I released the comment but next time please break it into 2 parts to avoid being held up.

  24. The only way for Ukrainians to save their sorry you-know-whats at this point is to join Russia the same way they did in the 17th century (this time with both Russia and Belarus), otherwise the country will cease to exist as such.

  25. @Adam D

The reason Israel voted with the US is because the US is its feudal lord and Israel is the US’ vassal.

However, if you agree with Laura that

Russia is NOT defending its country. Russia is waging an imperialist war on Ukraine,

could you also answer the question that I posed to Laura:

If this is so, how do you explain the fact that the US has turned around 180 degrees and is stabbing Ukraine in the back and calling it an an aggressor while, at the same time, richly rewarding Putin for his offensive, imperialist war?

Also, in your particular case, you dislike the fact that both US and Israel suddenly turned against Ukraine and voted against its resolution in the UN, I suspect you must feel that theirs is not a moral or ethical choice.

Why would the US (the shining city on the hill, the epitome of freedom and democracy) do something like this?

Why would it suddenly blame Ukraine and Zelensky for the war and promise all sorts of advantageous peace negotiations to the horrible imperialist aggressor Putin and his horrible country?

The US, basically, wiped its a$$ with both Ukraine and Zelensky (who, I think, is a sincere fool who trusted his puppet master ’til the end and whose life is now in danger) after 3 years of what amounts to American play acting which resulted in a hybrid attack on Russia which dwarfed the whole of the Cold War, in screwing Europe out of a cheap source of gas, in wiping out over a million young “Untermenschen” who honestly thought they were fighting for freedom and independence of their country with a full support of the “free world”, and in pretty much destroying Ukraine physically and demographically, and now the US is demanding that Ukraine become an American colony with full American access to its resources and tens of thousands of foreign soldiers on its soil without Ukraine joining either the EU or NATO – and all this out of sheer gratitude to the US.

Personally, I cannot wrap my mind around it.

I thought I gave the answer in my previous post – would you mind reading it and the articles I referred to?

  26. “However, Israel’s decision to vote against the resolution drew sharp criticism domestically. Gilad Kariv, chairman of the Knesset’s Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs Committee, called the move a “moral and ethical disgrace.”
“On the day the world marks three years since Russia’s assault on Ukraine, Israel has chosen to vote against the attacked party,” Kariv said. “This is a moral and ethical failure that could ultimately harm Israel. The free world must stand with Ukraine, not reward an aggressor that undermines fundamental values of sovereignty and democracy.” (quote from Ynet article)

Israel has joined the United States in voting “no” to a resolution jointly sponsored by Ukraine and the European Union, supporting Ukraine’s independence as a sovereign state and. the right of the Ukrainian people to choose their own leaders through the democratic process. It also advocates a peaceful settlement of the war as soon as possible. On that one point, it agrees with the Trump administration.

The resolution passed with 93 yes votes, 18 “no” votes, and about 65 abstentions. Besides the United States and Israel, the :no” votes were cast by every tyranny in the world, all of which are hostile to Israel, An example is Nicaragua, which has been consistently anti-Isral for the last forty years, A pro-government mob drove out the small Niceraugan Jewish community in the 1980s by decaceng the Nicaragua’s one synogogue with antisemititic graffiti, looting and partially burning it down, assaulting Jews on the street, andbreaking into and looting Jewish homes and shops. The entire Jewish community, a few hundred people, fled the country with 24 hours of the pogrom.

These are the people that United States and Israel are voting with.

  27. You have apparently refused to post my commentent on the recent United Nations General Assembly resolution on the war in Ukraine. Article about it from Ynetnews. Please post it in this space.

The vote marked the first time since the war began that both Israel and the U.S. opposed a Ukraine-related resolution at the UN, reflecting a shift in Washington’s stance following former President Donald Trump’s recent criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his alignment with Russian positions.

Until the last moment, it was unclear how the U.S. would vote, and Israel ultimately followed Washington’s lead. However, Israel was among a small group of nations to do so, along with Hungary and several Pacific states. North Korea and Russia also opposed the resolution.

Since the war began, Israel has publicly supported Ukraine’s territorial integrity and even attempted mediation efforts between Kyiv and Moscow. Then-Prime Minister Naftali Bennett traveled to Moscow early in the conflict in an effort to broker peace. Israel has also shared intelligence with Ukraine regarding Iran’s military support for Russia, particularly the supply of attack drones. However, Kyiv has repeatedly pushed Israel to increase its aid, particularly in the form of offensive weapons—a request Israel has resisted.
Recent reports suggested that Israel transferred Patriot missile defense systems to Ukraine, but it was later clarified that the systems were first sent to the U.S., which then delivered them to Ukraine.
Despite occasional tensions over military assistance, Ukrainian public opinion has largely remained sympathetic to Israel, particularly after the October 7 Hamas-led attacks. Many Ukrainians have drawn parallels between their struggle against Russian aggression and Israel’s fight against terrorism.
However, Israel’s decision to vote against the resolution drew sharp criticism domestically.
The free world must stand with Ukraine, not reward an aggressor that undermines fundamental values of sovereignty and democracy.”

  29. @Laura

Russia is NOT defending its country. Russia is waging an imperialist war on Ukraine

If this is so, how do you explain the fact that the US has turned around 180 degrees and is stabbing Ukraine in the back and calling it an an aggressor while, at the same time, richly rewarding Putin for his offensive, imperialist war?

  31. Zelensky or Putin are not bad guys, they are merely defending their countries, each in his own way, except that Zelensky is young, inexperienced to put it mildly, and stupid (also to put it mildly, and there are too many like him in the Ukrainian government) and this is why HE’S BEEN HAD together with all the Ukrainians.

The US/Anglo foreign policy is based on ONE strategy/goal – the full world domination, if not to say OWNERSHIP.

For the tactics – see the “outdated” Heartland theory – the intermediate aims of which have been almost completely achieved.

Please, recall that when the war started. there were negotiations going on in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine but Boris Johnson showed up in Kiev and made the Ukrainians to stop negotiating because (as he assured them) they would receive everything they needed for as long as it takes to fight the Russian aggressor.

The meat grinder fed by the Anglos and Europeans, and the unprecedented in their nature and quantity sanctions on Russia ensued, the Nord Stream 2 pipeline was sabotaged by “6 Ukrainians on a yacht” (check out Wikipedia on the pipeline and see how easy (sarcasm) it was to sabotage), and Europe had to eventually switch to much more expensive liquified gas from the US with some of its industries leaving Europe for the US as a result.

Zelensky, until very recently, was lauded as the glorious leader of the Ukraine fighting for its freedom and independence from the vicious Russia and its vicious Putin whose greatest desire was to recreate the Russian Empire.

Zelensky’s being “Jewish” in spite of being married to a non-Jewish woman and having baptized his children was supposed to be a big plus (I am wondering how this is going to play out now, that he is being smeared from head to toe).

All of a sudden, the whole thing has been turned on its head –

It was Ukraine who started the war, Zelensky is a vicious dictator who must either have the elections immediately or leave the country, Ukraine (the “aggressor”) has been deceiving the US and draining it of its taxpayers’ money, and now it dares to deny the US full access to the Ukrainian resources (actually becoming the colony of the US) as a payment (for the grants) it has received, Putin is actually quite a guy, the US wants to negotiate with him on everything and anything as long as it leads to peace and stops the bloodshed (the meat grinder financed by the West/Anglos for 3 years).

What could be the cause of this turnaround?

Obviously (taking into account the original strategy/goal):

    1) Russia is starting to win the war, so it must be stopped by all the means possible before it goes any further and actually wins it. Any agreements signed now can be broken unilaterally by the US for the sake of its “interests”.

    2) the US, et al. figure they have bled both Russia and Ukraine of enough young lives (over a million on both sides, probably, by now) to significantly weaken their armies;

    3) any agreement with Ukraine is to include tens of thousands of the Western/Anglo “peace”-keeping forces (for the future attack on Russia) as “security” guarantees for Ukraine and to protect the Ukrainian resources appropriated by the US.

    4) The US has a dire need of the rare earth metals and has been trying to find the ready sources of the stuff because it is losing access to the largest source of it (China) and rare earth metals are essential to the AI development, etc.

  32. Putin is the bad guy, not Zelensky and I’m really tired of this false narrative that persists on the right.

In response to Trump, what’s not fair is that Ukraine handed its nuclear weapons to Russia in exchange for security guarantees it never received. What’s also not fair is that Ukraine is denied NATO membership while islamo-nazi Turkey is in NATO.

Also, while Trump publicly declares democratically elected Zelensky a “dictator”, he lacks the balls to call Putin a dictator, which he so obviously is. He’s been in power for 25 years and imprisons and murders his opposition. I’ve never heard Trump say a negative word about Putin. How perverse is that? It’s easy to bully and threaten a weaker ally, but when it comes to enemies he capitulates.
