Peloni: As I noted yesterday, this move to begin targeting IRGC infrastructure represents a key shift in US policy. Is the once promised demise of the IRGC at hand? The loss of energy and transportation infrastructure will leave Iran in a dire economic state, and with what appears to be near daily tightening of US sanctions on the Iranian regime, this will have an important effect upon the regime’s ability to function. Trump noted in his speech last night that success in Iran won’t take long, and continuing to target Iranian infrastructure is what cause that statement to be realized.

Trump had warned over and over again about hitting infrastructure. It looks like that time has now come.
Iran International: US airstrikes hit the Kahurestan and Gariveh bridges, two key road links between Bandar Abbas and Shiraz, the Bandar Abbas railway junction, and Iranshahr Airport in southeastern Iran, Iranian state media reported (Iran).

he United States has reportedly carried out its largest wave of strikes in Iran during the current round of fighting, targeting major transportation and maritime infrastructure. Iranian reports say five bridges in southern Iran, an airport, a railway station, and Chabahar Port were struck. An observation tower at the port later collapsed, and at atleast seven people were reportedly killed. Sirens were also activated in Qatar and Bahrain. Separately, U.S. Marines reportedly boarded a second vessel attempting to breach the maritime blockade, diverted three additional ships, and neutralized another vessel. – Shapira_Nitzan

Additionally: U.S. Marines from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit conduct a verification boarding aboard M/T Wen Yao in the Gulf of Oman, July 16. As of today, American forces have redirected 3 commercial vessels trying to run the blockade, disabled 1 that didn’t comply, and boarded 1 to ensure full compliance with the ongoing U.S. naval blockade against Iran. The Strait of Hormuz and the surrounding waters remain free and open, except for vessels attempting to violate America’s steel wall blockade (CENTCOM).
