Water in Judea and Samaria

By Ted Belman.

One of the libels going around is that Israel is cheating the Arabs of their share of water.

A definitive report has now been published by The Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria titled Water in the West Bank.

Who is minding the store that they should call it West Bank.

  1. Frankly, until the world seriously discusses and rectifies the wrongs committed, under the auspices of the Geneva conventions, through the ethnic cleansing of jews from arab lands I would not discuss any possbile wrongs committed on arabs. My answer to all moral finger pointings is to say “correct that first” and then we will consider the others.

  2. I do not know who has the greater claim to water rights in the contested areas.

But even if the Arabs have the greater claim, they would die of thirst if the water was left to their own control.

  3. Thank you Ted. That is a very interesting article you linked to. I’ve always had a suspicion that the “water is at the root of this conflict” allegation is just a libel. OK, so let’s see.

An Arab townlet, say Jenin, would pay NIS 2.6 per cubic meter of water. A Jewish municipality, somewhere in Israel, say Afula, has to pay NIS 3.86 per cubic meter for exactly the same water.

Why does a Jew, in Israel, have to pay 48.5% more for a liter of water, than an Arab?

If this happens in any country, we call this raciscm and antisemitic discrimination.

Can anyone at Israpundit please explain this to me.
