What Hamas Did to the Girls and Women in Gaza

BY

The full horror of what happened to them is now coming out. It is just what you expected. What is unexpected is that it was The New York Times, so often unfair to Israel, that published this detailed account. More on the rapes, tortures, and murders of Israeli girls and women on October can be found here: “In harrowing detail, NYT reports on weaponization of rape, sexual violence on Oct. 7,” Times of IsraelDecember 29, 2023:

In a comprehensive, horrifying exposé published on Thursday {Dec. 28], The New York Times detailed the systematic sexual violence against Israeli women and girls employed by Palestinian terrorists during Hamas’s unprecedented October 7 rampage through southern Israel.

The two-month investigation includes interviews with more than 150 witnesses, medical personnel, first responders, soldiers, rape counselors, and government officials, along with the scanning of video footage, photographs and GPS data from cell phones.

The piece begins with the description of a harrowing video that circulated widely in the days after Hamas’s monstrous assault on southern Israel that Saturday morning. The footage, filmed in the early hours of October 8, shows the partially charred remains of a woman whose face is burned beyond recognition, and who is naked from the waist down, legs spread, her black dress hiked up. Her body is lying beside a car that was set alight on Route 232, which runs parallel to the Gaza Strip, where many people trying to flee the outdoor Supernova festival near Kibbutz Re’im were massacred by Hamas terrorists. Some 360 of the 1,200 people slaughtered that day were from the rave.

The woman in the video was later identified as Gal Abdush, a 34-year-old mother of two from central Israel, who attended the Supernova festival with her husband, Nagi Abdush, 36. Police say they believe Abdush was raped before she was murdered and her body set alight. It took about a week to identify her, according to the report. Her husband’s body was found days later, and was so badly burned that authorities needed DNA testing to identify him.

The New York Times said it identified at least seven locations across southern Israel where women and girls were apparently sexually abused or mutilated. Those the paper interviewed described finding the bodies of more than 30 women in and around the Supernova rave site and in two nearby kibbutzim in a similar state as Abdush’s — “legs spread, clothes torn off, signs of abuse in their genital areas.”

Photographs viewed by The Times included ones of a woman in a besieged kibbutz who was found with dozens of nails driven into her thighs and groin. Footage viewed by the newspaper showed two dead Israeli soldiers at an overrun military base apparently shot directly in their vaginas.

A paramedic from a commando unit told the newspaper he had found the bodies of two teenage girls, sisters aged 13 and 16, in a room in Kibbutz Be’eri with their clothes ripped. One was lying on her side with “bruises by her groin,” and the other “was sprawled on the floor face down,” the paramedic said, “pajama pants pulled to her knees, bottom exposed, semen smeared on her back.”…

Mirit Ben Mayor, a police chief superintendent, told The New York Times she believed the brutal atrocities committed by Palestinian terrorists against Israeli women and girls on October 7 marked a combination of “the hatred for Jews and the hatred for women.”

Those who are capable of rational thought should, with such accounts as these, understand why Israel cannot possibly allow Hamas to exist as a military threat. This is only part of the story of what was done that day by the Hamas killers: the gang-rapes, the mutilation of bodies, the torture, the murders, and the hilarity exhibited — the joking, the laughing, the giggling — by Hamas killers as they did what they did to these Jewish girls and women. There is much more that has been left out: the rapes and murders of pre-adolescent girls, the slicing off of breasts, the seizure of girls not only by Hamas, but by those “innocent civilians” who accompanied Hamas on its rampage, participated in the torture and slaughter, and took back to Gaza their own female captives, to be used as sex slaves, as some may still be doing. But this is more than enough. The New York Times, so often to be condemned for its reporting on Israel and the Palestinians, this time deserves praise.

  1. @Michael

“”It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is. If the—if he—if ‘is’ means is and never has been, that is not—that is one thing.”

    – Bill Clinton

  2. Reader, you said, (with ZERO basis, by the way),

For Michael Jews are not Americans

I take that as a dog whistle.

  3. @Reader Aliya is up. Though it’s really just a few people from here. This article is from November 29, 2023. Even from Hungary which has had few antisemitic incidents and has banned pro-pal protests!

Though, personally, Ah aint goin’ nowheres. To the canard of dual loyalty I plead proudly guilty as charged just like every other ethnic group here including Anglos like Carlson and probably Michael whatever his background and in the words of “Maxwell Smart” : “And loving it.” 😀 That’s part of what America’s about. I feel not the slightest need to choose and I don’t believe Michael, Carlson, Owens, Clapton, and a noisy minority , many of them foreign Muslims and leftists are representative, fake polls notwithstanding.

  4. Michael’s comments here and elsewhere on this site prove that I was right when I said:

In any country Jews are aliens with citizenships who fool themselves into thinking that it is their country and they are the same as everybody else and it cannot happen here.

For Michael Jews are not Americans, they are just that “Semitic minority that no other country seems to want” and who denigrate Americans by suggesting that not all Americans are like the ones he deems them to be.

I think it is time to stop arguing and start thinking hard about what happened in Europe less than a century ago.

  5. @No one knows how many Gazans are dead. The IDF has estimates of around 8000 terrorists dead. Hamas is unreliable and they do not have the means to count bodies. Anyone been through the buildings.

What Hamas Hospital Administrator reports is just propaganda and not facts. Unfortunately with a lack of reliable facts available the media goes with almost anything Hamas says (sometimes with a mild disclaimer).

  6. Sebastien Is that all? How I feel also. If 18,000 Gazens are dead, where are the photos of the stacks of bodies>

  7. @Michael

“BTW, you DO know that I grieve for those victims of the Hamas attack. “

    This from someone who said:

“we’re supposed to go into hysterics over 1,200 Jews getting killed?”

    ?

  9. Hi, Bear. Happy Secular New Year.

Honeybee was lamenting the insensitivity of fellow Jews towards their own. I wrote what I did, to let her know that Christians are no strangers to these things. Most of what’s been written here since then, has all the appearances of calculated nastiness, if I may be blunt again.

BTW, you DO know that I grieve for those victims of the Hamas attack. As for the Holocaust, my relatives, all of them distant, who were still in Europe at that time, all suffered under the Nazis. This was equally true of the Jews and Christians among them. They worked forced labor, were interned in Siberia, and died in massacres and at Auschwitz. People who accuse me of “denying” the Holocaust are simply vile people.

  10. @Michael Americans got rightly extremely upset about the murder of 3000 Americans on 911. US attacked and took over Afghanistan and Iraq in the wake of 911.

1200 Israelis murdered, women raped, mutilated and 240 kidnapped and many of those killed since massively upsets Israelis and Jewish people massively upsets to say the least. This is a tragedy for us.

Michael sit back take a breadth and think if your comment maybe insensitive and strange to be blunt. Better than to question Jews by making comparisons of a horrific event in Nigeria is to ask why a Christian Country like the USA cares not about what happen in Nigeria.

  11. @MIchael “we’re supposed to go into hysterics over 1,200 Jews getting killed?”

Yes, if you’re human, certainly on an Israeli or any Jewish blog. Especially one that emphasizes Jewish particularism over Jewish universalism when push comes to shove. Why are you so surprised? Where ya been?

And I won’t even go into the 2,000 year history of Jews being tortured and massacred by Christians in the name of Christianity that ended only 5 minutes ago.

Aren’t you the one who asked, “Do you think the Holocaust was only about Jews?”

Uh, Yeah, Michael. The Nazis murdered a lot of people for a lot reasons but the Holocaust was about the Jews and, at least until very recently, that was a given. Holocaust Deniers haven’t gotten more clever. They minimize the Holocaust through comparison while attaching “Denier” to other things.

  12. @Michael S.

For the rest, 52,000 Christians die without comment, but we’re supposed to go into hysterics over 1,200 Jews getting killed?

God forbid you should be expected to go into hysterics over some dead Jews, it is just that there are 2 billion Christians, and as gory and tragic as the slaughter of the tens of thousands of Christians is, it is not an existential threat to the 2 billion of them (shouldn’t the whole Christian world be going into hysterics over this by now?) but Israel is a ridiculously small state with one half of the world’s Jewish population living there – so please, be understanding and forgive us for going into hysterics over 1,200 dead Jews.

BTW, Christians have killed probably over 100 million other Christians over the last 2,000 years without any of them going into hysterics much, and a few million of the adherents of other religions, so maybe they are now used to it a lot more than the Jews, that is why the Christians think that the Jews complain too much about their dead.

  13. @Honeybee As do I and Yes, I was thinking of that very passage. I wasn’t silent out of insensitivity but the enormity of it left me overwhelmed and speechless. I just want them to be destroyed. Total war. When I hear that probably inflated number, 18,000, my gut response is, “is that all?”

  14. Adam and Baastien, I tell you 50.000 Christians have been killed, and I get a lecture from you. Thanks for the sympathy, but no thanks. Go back to cracking jokes.

  15. @Michael Jihadwatch and the Gelller Report do that.and what Adam said. In fact, the problem with my people is that 90 percent of the time, we are upset about the massacre and oppression of everybody BUT our own people.

Even Israpundit has spent a lot of time before this on other issues.

    Your response is mind-bogglingly insensitive.

  16. @Honeybee The perpetrators who have been taken prisoner should be castrated without pain killers, the surviving victims or their families should be allowed to assist and it should be televised with a laugh track.

  17. Michae S, Jews get very upset when other Jews are massacred because they are Jews. You get upset when Christians are massacred bwcause you are a Christian. That is at it should. But I think it is unfair to expect Jews to get as upset by the massacre of Christians as you, a fellow Christians do? By the way: Do you get just as upset when Muslims slaughter each other, which they do all the time, as when they slaughter Christians? Do you get equally upset when Hindus massacre Sikhs,? Or vice versa? O when Muslims and Hindus in India slaughter eaxh other, as they often do? When Buddhists and Muslims slaughter each other in Myanmar? I think it is stupid to argue over who is most sensitive to the ethnic-religious massacres that go on all around the world. After all, all of them are instances of :man’s inhumanity to man.

  18. Hi, Honeybee. What’s your comment on the following?

Over 50,000 Christians killed in Nigeria by Islamist extremists
According to the report “Martyred Christians in Nigeria” issued by Intersociety, over the past 14 years at least 52,250 Nigerian Christians have been brutally murdered at the hands of Islamist militants…

    18,000 churches set on fire

In the same period 18,000 Christian churches and 2,200 Christian schools were set ablaze. Approximately 34,000 moderate Muslims also died in Islamist attacks.
    https://www.vaticannews.va/en/church/news/2023-04/over-50000-christians-killed-in-nigeria-by-islamist-extremists.html

I don’t see any clever comments on this by Sebastien and Felix, or Edgar, or you, for that matter. To his credit, Ted has occasionally posted about the plight of Christians in today’s world. For the rest, 52,000 Christians die without comment, but we’re supposed to go into hysterics over 1,200 Jews getting killed?

Do you think the Fulani in Nigeria treated those Christian women and children any more civilly than the Pals did to those Israeli women and children? Do I hear the words “genocide” from anyone here? No. It’s just life. That’s the way it is.
