Belman interviewed on the Tamar Yonah Show

Audio: Netanyahu Dancing at Two Weddings?

Israel seems to always be losing at the ‘peace table’. So why does the Prime Minister keep playing the game? It seems that in his efforts to appease, and yet keep Israel’s security priority, he is dancing at two weddings. Ted Belman from IsraPundit joins Tamar and gives his take on Netanyahu, his words, and his leaning towards ‘autonomy’ and not an independent Palestinian state as some may think

Was shocked by your response when asked by Yonah. What will happen if the Arabs or the world community objects to some Israeli measure-you said, in a most childish way, WHO CARES?. Well the Israelis care and U.S. cares and the Europeans care. Negotiations are a two way street where each party must respect the role of the other. But one must realize that ted belman is not personally involved in these matters and he can say whatever he wishes. As foolish as his words may be.

  3. Bedrock. Really? Has giving into terrorists helped Israel so far? So who cares? Israel SHOULD put the full brakes on because we KNOW what the real mandate is.

  5. Belman in this interview makes some very doubtful assumptions.

    1) Bibi means autonomy for the Pals when he says sovereignty,.
    2) If he really means autonomy will he will be allowed to get away with his deception by the world community?
    3) The present situation will remain stable for the near or long term.
    4) Bibi’s coalition will remain intact and for how long.
    5) the Iranian situation, The ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the problems in Iraq and the ongoing wars on terrorism has some bearing on the Israeli-Pal dispute. Yet Belman completely ignores this aspect of the problem.
    6) Belman is certain Palin will be the next president despite the fact that she has not even declared her desire to run. How can he be so certain of the result of an election taking place in two years time, when so much in this world is either uncertain, unpredictable and in a state of flux.

My conclusion is that Belman is suffering from a bad case of very wishful thinking.
