David Oscar Markus, Maxwell’s lawyer, said his client was questioned extensively over two days and was “asked about every possible thing you could imagine — everything,” according to the New York Post. Maxwell is serving a 20-year federal prison sentence after her 2021 conviction on sex trafficking and conspiracy charges. “This was the first opportunity she’s ever been given to answer questions about what happened,” Markus said. “The truth will come out about what happened with Mr. Epstein and she’s the person who’s answering those questions.”
Maxwell met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche on Thursday to discuss her ties to Epstein and answer questions about her role in the trafficking network.
Blanche said in an X post that he would return Friday for a second day of interviews with Maxwell.
The disgraced socialite is appealing both her conviction and sentence. Some legal analysts believe her cooperation could be part of a push for clemency from President Donald Trump.
