Peloni: The fundamental failure of the solution being proposed in the Lebanon negotiations remains that it is dependent upon the Lebanese being a dependable partner, and it isn’t. It never has been, and it failed to be so just last January when it published falsified claims that they had already disarmed Hezbollah. The only benefit Israel is seeking in Lebanon is the permanent removal of Hezbollah, and the Lebanese can not be trusted to assure this end is maintained, and that is what the Americans are pressuring Israel to accept.
