Beware of needless isolation and divisions among the Right

Chikli speaks to a matter that I have been warning about for some time.  The parties on the Right are risking the potential loss of many seats, something that contrasts significantly with how the Right approached the election lists in the last election.  If precautions are not put in place to conserve national camp votes, there will be no landslide victory for the right, even if the public vote for one.

The event surrounding the small parties on the right is becoming very, very dangerous for the national camp.

To the whole group warming up on the sidelines, I strongly recommend learning the lessons of the Zehut party and the New Right party, not to mention the lessons of the 1992 elections with the Tehiya party, whose failure to pass the electoral threshold paved the way for the Oslo catastrophe.

The New Right was led by Bennett and Shaked at the height of their popularity, after both had served in senior positions. The party was polling at ten seats, then seven, then six, and in the end it did not pass the electoral threshold.

Zehut was the surprise of the election, at least according to the polls, very popular among young people and on social media. Feiglin was then at the height of his influence. Zehut did not pass the electoral threshold.

The result was a disaster for the national camp, which was forced into a loop of inconclusive election campaigns as a result of the boycott of Likud and the right-wing parties under pressure from the Balfour protests and the Black Flags protests.

As is remembered, the 21st Knesset served only five months; after it, the 22nd Knesset served six months, and the 23rd Knesset only one year until the establishment of the “Government of Change,” which itself served only one year and two months.

The “Government of Change” set very dangerous precedents for the Zionist identity of the State of Israel when it granted the Islamic Movement governmental veto power, turning it into a leading factor in shaping government policy in the Negev and the Galilee and into a paralyzing factor in security activity.

A no less destructive precedent was the violation of the Israeli public, which was forced to deal with the one who, through a combination of extortion, deception, and fraud, took the prime minister’s seat with six measly mandates.

A great deal is at stake. Eisenkot is not hiding his intention to establish a government with the Islamic Movement and the Kaplan refusers’ party.

Create the necessary alliances to ensure passing the electoral threshold, or withdraw—”Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
