Is it possible under the Israeli legal system to charge Halevi, Haliva, and Bar with dereliction of duty for failure to warn the Prime Minister of the attack plans of Hamas when they initially found out about the intelligence?
It seems to me that the Israeli left has gotten away with efforts to breach democratic norms and that they will continue to do so unless they experience consequences for their actions.
The State of Israel must deter members of the military or intelligence agencies from acting without informing the sitting Prime Minister, regardless of how much they disagree with the PM on policy issues.
What is it in Israeli law or in the type of government in Israel that prevents the Prime Minister from simply firing members of the military or intelligence agencies for dereliction of duty? Is someone other than the PM responsible for hiring and firing of the military, intelligence, and defense establishment?
