Yoram Ettinger is wonderful. He courageously deals with issues that other commentators ignore or avoid dealing with. He explains how many advantages the U.S. gains from its alliance with Israel. Israel more than pays for the weapons that the U,S. gives them with help for U.S. intelligence plans, U.S. weapons development and improvement, which rely heavily on Israeli innovations, new technologies developed by Israeli “start-up” companies, which are then sold to American companies, enabling them to make huge profits, Israeli innovations and scientific progress, including the development of new medications and medical procedures not only save thousands of lives, but make fortunes for American companies that market Israeli-developed medications and surgical procedures and equipment.
An even more important contribution by Ettinger is his explanation of the folly of the Western countries, especially the United States, of seeking to buy the loyalty of ideologically driven Middle East regimes by giving them money. The U,S. has “donated huge amounts of mony to Iran, for example over the past 46 years in an effort to buy their loyalty. They have just taken this money and used it to fund terrorism and armed agression against neighboring countries. Hey have not become more friendly to the United States. The same thing has happened to all the money that the U.S. has thrown at the PLO and Hamas. They not become helpful to the U,S, in return. Ettinger points out that Midle Easterners are driven by ideology in their actions, not money as most Westerners today are.
