Deadline passed. Murders not released

TOI reports:

    Israel has reportedly informed the Palestinian Authority that it will not release a fourth and final batch of prisoners expected to be freed as part of peace negotiations, a Palestinian official said Friday.

Israel didn’t comment. The deadline has passed.

But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

Danon: Peace talks going nowhere, Palestinians only want terrorists freed By JPOST.COM STAFF

Following a report that the release of a group of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails would not go ahead this weekend, Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon (Likud) slammed the Palestinians for failing to make concessions in the peace process and for only being interested in releasing terrorists.

“It is clear to all sides that the negotiations are leading nowhere and it good that the Palestinians understand that Israel will not make it concessions without receiving anything
in return,” Danon said.

  1. Israel didn’t comment. The deadline has passed.

    But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

    If it is going to happen in the future,what is the purpose of sending mixed signals to the entire world? Why should Israel accept a blame for a failure or potential failure of the so called peace process when the PA is not held responsible for its failure to keep the terms of an agreement with impunity? If there is any ‘concern’ for the plight of Palestinian Arabs sufferings in Arab countries and under PA and Hamas, better to hold PA and Hamas – who teach those under their control hatred to carry out Jihad against the peace loving Jewish state responsible.
    Sending mixed signal by Israel would be seen as a sign of weakness and not strength. It is unfair to fight for criminals imprisoned by Israel instead of the innocent ones indefinite sufferings in Arab countries.

  2. If PA agrees to extend talks without preconditions I am afraid Bibi will release the terrorists (if he can get the 3 committee votes) just not the Israeli Arab terrorists.

    Abbas is bluffing because if he does not agree to extend the talks the USA will slow pay or non pay the PA especially if they try the UN route again. The US has threatened to close the PA’s embassy.

    Bibi wants Abbas to walk out of the talks and keeping asking for things he will NOT agree to. That way the US will not force him to release the terrorists.

  3. I predict it will still happen.

    Jews are the world’s worst negotiators. Even the dimmest bulbs in the Israeli government have to understand once Israel gives up its last remaining leverage over the Arabs, the Arabs will walk out of the pretend peace talks, Israel will wind up looking stupid again and it will be blamed for the collapse of aforesaid talks.

    Reason and common sense ought to tell Israel that when you give something for nothing – you will get nothing! The Arabs are not interested in peace, period and nothing Israel can say or do will lead them to make peace.

    As long the Arabs refuse to reciprocate, Israel should respond in kind. This is the language the Arabs understand. Jews with no respect for themselves should not expect to receive it from others.

    I don’t think the Israeli government is strong enough to say “no”. But as the Sages pointed out, doing the right thing is its own reward.

    Israel won’t get peace. But Israel can at least reclaim its dignity.

  4. Fortunately it did not happen and hopefully NO terrorists will ever be released again!

    As soon as the PA takes its next stupid step Israel should:

    1. Approve the Levy Report;

    2. Build in E1;

    3. Annex Area C and what of Area B it needs for security purposes and workable borders.

    4. Figure Out what to do with Area A (while never relinquishing security and allowing for the option to annex it)
