Peloni: What we see when we look at Trump’s statements at the beginning of the war and his shocking comments in the past two days, while Trump talks about regime change having taken place with the replacement of the leadership in power in Iran, what is very clear is that there has been a regime change which has taken place in Washington with the same leadership in America in power. No such reversal in national policy has been seen in history since Queen Anne betrayed her own policies in the War of the Spanish Succession to spite her own commanding general, the Duke of Marlborough, and his wife. There is more to this picture than is we are currently seeing.

I really enjoyed Pesach’s commentary. As I said in my recent blog post, I too, would love to believe that Trump is just trying to throw Iran and her supporters into a false sense of security and this temporary ceasefire is just a smoke screen for the last chapter to come – when the regime finally does fall.
But I’m not getting that warm fuzzy feeling this time.
I certainly understand that his priorities do not align with mine or Israel’s. He is much more concerned with the price of gas at the pump because that seems to be most American’s concern too. He said it himself: I notice that everytime there is a peace deal on the table, the price of gas plummets. He is far less concerned with dead Israelis. And if he is concerned with them, he has a strange way of showing it.
The way I see it, both sides are talking over each other and not listening to a word the other is saying. And when they do, they either challenge them or continue to spout a lot of nonsense (both the Iranian leaders and Trump). So if that’s the case, why must Trump continue with his charade if in fact it is a charade. Calling Bibi ‘fucking crazy’ for defending his citizens against Hezbollah means one of 2 things. He’s pissed off at Bibi because his actions might scare off the Iranians from signing off on the peace deal or it’s just a facade to throw off their enemies before Trump unleashes a full scale attack on them. But since both sides are really ignoring one another, why pretend to be angry at Bibi? He fooled the Iranians once before, does he really think they’ll be fooled again? Setting up a ‘pretend’ rift with his best ally in the world (Bibi) send a dangerous message/precedent to the world. His good friends are the ‘new’ Iranian regime, Erdogan, Qattari leaders and other enemies of the US but now it’s the Israeli regime that is the problem. It will be very hard to undo this image. The damage has been done. I rarely find a benefit in lying or BSing. The truth shall set u free, Donald! This is not a game whereby one can try to sow confusion and win that way. That is a card that must be used sparingly. His own fans are confused right now.

This reminds me of Frank Zappa’s first record, Freak Out:
“Donnie” or “The Donald” matches the original satirical tone best.
FZ: Donnie?
DT: Yes.
FZ: Donnie Creamcheese?
DT: Yes.
FZ: Donnie Creamcheese, honey, what’s got into ya?
Take of on the origina dialog from “Freak Out” record.
FZ: Suzy?Suzy:

FZ: Suzy Creamcheese?

FZ: This is the voice of your conscience baby… Suzy Creamcheese, honey, what’s got into ya?
