When you look for the Democrat supporters of Israel in Congress make sure you bring along your best GPS. They are a species hard to find, threatened by the Democratic National Committee’s Debbie W. Schultz whose mantra is, “Follow Obama or pay the penalty when it comes to campaign financing!” What other explanation is there for only two (2) Democrat senators signing up for a “no brainer” resolution standing up for Israel? Kudos to Senators Wyden and Ben Nelson for their courage to support Israel and thumbing their noses at Obama and Schultz! Anonymous
HATCH, LIEBERMAN INTRODUCE CONGRESSIONAL RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING U.S. POLICY TOWARD ISRAEL
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senators Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) introduced a bipartisan congressional resolution in support of Israel. The resolution states that,
-
“It is the policy of the United States to support and facilitate Israel in maintaining, secure, recognized and defensible borders and that it is contrary to United States policy and our national security to have the borders of Israel return to the armistice lines that existed on June 4, 1967.”
“Israel is one of our nation’s most important allies, serving as a beacon of freedom and liberty in the Middle East and the world. As a sovereign nation, It has every right to defend itself against those who would do her harm, and to protect its citizens against terrorists and their state sponsors. But boundaries that existed on June 4, 1967 placed Israel in a precarious military situation that threaten regional stability,”
said Senator Hatch.

“This resolution reaffirms that it is the policy of the United States to support and facilitate Israel in maintaining secure, recognized, and defensible borders, and a return to the June 4, 1967 borders is contrary to United States policy and our national security. I’m proud to introduce this resolution with Senator Lieberman that has such widespread support.”
“As President Obama rightly indicated in his recent speech to AIPAC, Israel’s borders as they existed on June 4, 1967 are not an acceptable endpoint for negotiations because they do not allow Israel to defend itself or respect the reality that hundreds of thousands of Israelis now live east of the 1967 borders. This bipartisan resolution reaffirms that simple but important reality, along with the commitment of the United States to the security of our ally Israel,” said Senator Lieberman.
In addition to Hatch and Lieberman, the resolution has been cosponsored by Senators Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), Mike Johanns (R-Neb.) Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), Pat Toomey (R-Penn.), Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), Richard Burr (R-N.C.), John Cornyn (R-Tex.), Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), John Thune (R-S.D.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Dan Coats (R-Ind.), Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), John Boozman (R-Ark.), Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), Scott Brown (R-Mass.), David Vitter (R-La.), Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.).

There are still plenty of Jew haters in America and they can come from any side of the political spectrum. When I lived and went to high school in Virginia after WWII there were even signs “Jews and dogs keep out,” and when I carried the heavy golf bags of the Republican golfers at the country club that didn’t allow Jewish members every time they missed a golf shot it was “the G-d D—-d Jews.” You think things have changed that much? Don’t count on it. Of course Americans don’t care much for Muslims either probably even less. Americans respect Israel because they have shown they are winners but the Christian Zionists have an agenda and they will love Israel as long as it serves their ulterior motives.

But, now there’s the growing Muslim demographic to cater to. Israel grows more expendable to those who put their career before doing what is right.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz who called anyone opposed to legalized infanticide as “anti-woman” and “gender traitors”(Never mind that little girls get butchered by abortion,too.). Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a morally repugnant lunatic.
Again, until Obama gets booted from office, it’ll be dangerous for Israel. He, and his sidekick Holder together with the other anti-semites don’t care, nor follow the law or constitution.
The P2P in Libya is a pre-text to attack Israel, Samantha Power who once suggested that the US invade Israel, are working on this for a long time.
I don’t think the word “despised” defines how people view DSW. “Dumb bunny” is more like it.
I’ll take credit for Oregon’s own Ron Wyden. We also have a pretty decent Dem. congressman, Pete DeFazio, who has stood up to Obama on Libya and opposed Clinton on Kosovo. We also have another junior Dem. senator, whose name I won’t mention. He came ashore during the ’08 Obama storm. As you say, Ted, the resolution is a no-brainer for anyone concerned about the Jewish people.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz now qualifies as the most despised Jew in the USA. Even more so than fried Weiner.
I thought according to most of you that congress was pro Israel. what happened to Ettinger? Was a time there was more support among Democrats than Republicans. Oh well. Being pro Israel for most was in the past easy it was always non binding and cost free for the politicians.
The other Ds can still redeem themselves by at least voting for the resolution. If they don’t, I’m done with them.
