Peloni: The focus on ending the fighting while announcing peace in our time solves nothing but a return to mowing the grass policies which led to October 7. A real achievement would come from enacting Trump’s emigration policy and from Israel settlement and permanent control of Gaza. This current plan is so far from achieving peace that it seems not to bother the Peace Processors in the slightest that the latest proposal which they are now considering to the already adopted UNSC Resolution 2803 is a complete abandonment and reversal of the substantive aspects of the plan enshrined in 2803. While noting that Resolution 2803 had no chance of achieving the peace it was claimed to bring about, it is clear that the latest crop of Peace Processors are as anxious as the previous Peace Processors in simply wanting something on which to stake a claim of victory, while the actual terms of the agreement are significantly less relevant.

Trump thinks Hamas disarming would solve the problem in Gaza.
Here’s what he needs to understand.
Hamas can easily stage a theater. They pile up some guns, change their name, and go back underground, exactly what the first generation of Hamas leaders always wanted.
The new generation made the mistake of turning them into a governing authority and exposing the entire organization. Now they want to retreat back into the shadows, rebuild their narrative, and raise a new generation on pure hatred.
The only condition that actually corners them is demanding they recognize Israel’s right to exist before any withdrawal, any aid, or any rebuilding.
They cannot afford this because their entire ideology and charter view all of Israel as Islamic land that must be liberated. Accepting a permanent Jewish state would destroy their religious purpose and make them irrelevant overnight.
Without that recognition, it’s just a pause before the next round.

What constitutes ‘recognition’ of Israel’s right to exist? Do the cockroaches in my house recognise our borders? Do the mosquitos recognise my bodily sovereignty? Mosquitos can spread such pain, discomfort & disease yet they evaporate like dust when confronted.
