Iran Attacks Northern Israel (Closed Thread) New Comments at Bottom

Peloni:  Final tweet at the bottom is chilling to read. Trump is pleading with Bibi to stand down, arguing

“Each of them had their fun. Israel had its strike and Iran had its strike. We don’t need another one.”

He is wrong. This statement is so incredibly wrong I don’t know what to say. It is as if Trump has no concept of what the actual difference is between Victory and Defeat. These are not just words, and in the Middle East, these words hold power over the survival of whole civilizations.

Iran initiated an attack on Israel with no provocation, despite Trump’s suggesting the contrary.  Lebanon and Iran are not common regions, and Israel responding to attacks from Lebanon can not be allowed to be accepted as Israel provoking Iran.  Trump’s comment on this is not only damaging to Israel, but it is in complete disregard to Lebanon, a nation with which Trump is forcing Israel to hold peace talks.  Trump appears to want to have it both ways, but either Lebanon is Iranian territory, or it is not, and in fact it is NOT.

Hence, if Bibi stands down now, in the face of an unprovoked major Iranian attack on the Israeli population, it will destroy him politically, but more than this it will present Israel as weak, and a complete toady to Trump’s will, which is why it will destroy Bibi’s political future. Israel is a strong nation in a difficult region of the world, and it needs a strong leader to lead it, not an American stooge.

If Bibi capitulates to Trump after having been shelled with ballistic missiles over the period of an hour, it will send a catastrophic message to Israel’s allies as well as to its enemies, and Israel can not afford to send such a message to anyone, not for any deal.

  1. Israel did retaliate and hit several places in Iran. Not to respond would have been too weak and opens free warfare on Israel.

My guess is Trump knew but was playing game. If he was serious about Israel backing down that would be a serious mistake!

  2. I was right not to trust Trump. The guy is a POS and weaker than Carter, Obama and Biden combined.

Everyone who’s condemning Israel deserves to have missiles fired into their neighborhoods.

  3. We are very close to a final deal with Iran. It is going to be a good deal.

Total disillusion. A deal signed by Iran has already been broken before the ink dried.

Hezbollah cannot sign. The only pen they have available looks too much like a Kalashnikov.

  4. (Trump):

I am going to call Bibi right now and tell him not to retaliate. Each of them had their fun. Israel had its strike and Iran had its strike. We don’t need another one.

Israel had its strike months ago. If that is his calculation, he needs to get back to school. The Iranians keep shooting at us. If we manage to deflect these strikes by good preparation, some bits and pieces still get through, and even shrapnel can cause damage. What Trump seems unable to understand is that every single missile fired at Israel is attempted murder. That has to stop. If he thinks that the Iranians are anywhere near a deal, or that he has them over a barrel and they absolutely want a deal, he should subscribe to Israpundit.

    • As usual, the problem is seen as “it’s all Israel’s fault for defending herself”. Which, taken to its logical and horrific extreme equates to, the only good Jews are dead or passive Jews. Trump knows better, I believe, but wants Iran to think he’s playing along with them.

  6. I’m so thoroughly fed up with this. Our government or at least elements within it continue to wage endless propaganda war on the Jewish state. It is just relentless what is being done to that beleaguered nation by so-called “allies”. This even after Israel fights side by side with America, showing itself to be a valuable ally. No other nation comes close to Israel in terms of its value to American security. We don’t see this leaking and negative reportage about qatar, the saudis, turkey, pakistan, all so-called “allies” which are actually burdens. We always screw over our real allies while empowering enemies. The sooner Israel extricates itself from America, the better. https://www.ynetnews.com/opinions-analysis/article/bjglqpwbml

  7. The sooner Iran is plunged into a state of perpetual darkness, the better.

Wipe out their energy grid and their way of paying Russia for the 25B nuclear deal. Destroy anything thing that crawls in Iran.

  8. @JewishWarrior13:

Trump, in his first statement, said, “I suggest to Iran, you’ve shot enough; that’s enough. Now return to the negotiating table. ”

BREAKING: TRUMP BRIEFED ON ISRAEL-IRAN ESCALATION

President Trump has reportedly been briefed on the latest escalation between Israel and Iran.

Israel is reportedly seeking a U.S. green light for strikes on Iranian energy sites.

This comes as Iranian ballistic missile waves target Israel and Jerusalem prepares its response.

    .

    • There is no reason why Israel should request permission to retaliate to this double breaking of the cease-fire. There never was a cease fire and Israel cannot have broken it since they continued their aggression. Trump has pulled Israel back from completing several almost finished tasks but now it’s time for those tasks to be done. Enough is enough.
