Limiting Collateral Damage in a Nuclear War With Iran

by Shmuel Ben-Yehoshua, INN

There is no moral dilemma here.
It is unfortunate that I have to begin this article with the jolt of such a knuckle-whitening title, but I’m deadly serious. Some people who think support for Israel amounts to camping out need to be shaken out of their complacency. In the past, I have called for the use of the neutron bomb on Iran is so centralized that it is essentially a “one-bomb” country if Tehran is nuked. (“Time to Neutron Iran”); and, failing that, use of the hydrogen bomb on Tehran (“Is a Hydrogen Bomb on Tehran Any Better?“), since Iran is so centralized that it is essentially a “one-bomb” country if Tehran is nuked.

Israel now has more Jews than any other country. Ehud Olmert and his left-wing wife cannot be allowed to destroy 5,000 years of Jewish history simply because, like Saul, he wants to show mercy on Amalek. He needs to be removed from office immediately so that Israel can take robust military action against Iran. Anyone who delays this, no matter what the political gain for the right-wing as Olmert implodes politically, is an Iran enabler.

The IAEA found in Iran polonium-210, used almost exclusively for making A-bomb triggers. Since polonium-210 has a half-life of only 138 days, it is highly perishable and only made when use of an atom bomb is imminent. Iran is about to nuke Israel. Iran must be nuked first.

Sometimes, when a child is bad, he needs a good spanking. Iran needs a good nuking. There is no “moral dilemma” here and it is no more complicated than that.

Israel is going to nuke Iran. Every alternative has run out of time. The only question is whether Iran nukes Israel first. It is just and inevitable that Israel will make a nuclear attack on Iran and Syria against military forces to soften their armies up, facilitating an easy invasion of Iran via Syria, crossing the small land gap between them through friendly Kurdish territory. From there, Iran will be occupied to seize all Iranian nuclear sites. The only way to get them all, including the deeply buried ones without use of nuclear bunker busters with all their fallout, is to simply seize them with ground forces and access them for destruction just by taking the stairs.

Even Syria must be nuked, because it is the only way to avoid getting bogged down there en route to Iran. CONTINUE

  1. -*The following was printed in the Santa Cruz Sentinel this morning 8/7/07:

    Why fund Israel?

Israel is to receive $30 billion in aid over the next 10 years. I ask in all seriousness, why?

Israel is the biggest source of discontent in the Middle East and not without justification, so why am I and millions of other U.S. taxpayers required to support this insignificant country [Palestinians would even say illegal country]?

Is there any worth in this action? I have to say a big no! Israel, look after your self and stop leaching off the rest of the world until you at least recognize and accept U.N. resolutions regarding your illegal use of scatter bombs, to name but just one issue.

-*It’s part of a campaign of misinformation sponsored by the editors of the Santa Cruz Sentinel who control what gets printed and spoon fed to the community on a regular basis. Since I moved here five years ago the verbal attacks on Israel featured in this publication are astounding. The Sentinel helps to foster attitudes and beliefs through a calculated and deliberate presentation of Israel as a temporary entity whose right exist is always in question.

  2. When suffering from multiple existential threats, it is essential to prioritize them for handling and to seek allies. Short of a unilateral preemptive nuclear strike, Israel needs American military and political cover to deal with the primary antagonist: Iran.

Despite the triumph of defeatism [oxymoron] at the highest level and the partisan paralysis intrinsic to Israeli politics, I don’t believe the entire cabinet would be taking a passive ride on Bush’s Palestinian state crusade if a deal had not been struck regarding Iran. There is likely a quid pro quo.

Viewed this way however, one must wonder why the US has been so keen to sit down with the Iranians recently. Is it only about Iraq?

Or is the poker player in the White House hedging his bets and double-dealing?

  3. I think there is a near consensus re: the mounting existential threats to Israel on all fronts. The spector of nuke arms race in the middle east does not bode well for we who are attached to and live in the Land of Israel. The Russians are back and are turning the clock backwards to pre 67. The Americans are arming those who the Russians miss in this early phase. I do not see how with both the Russians and the Americans Arming to the teeth every Nation in the Middle East how even with the best and most responsible leadership Israel can compete on a level playing field. The Russians Have now according to some reports gained Naval Base rights from Syria. The Trade off must be in the currency of oil and weapons as well as political and military umbrella. So if we attack Syria we have to take into consideration the Russian presence. It is one thing to go up against the Syrians and another the Syrians plus the Russians. The Americans cannot be counted upon in such a scenario. So under a Russian Umbrella the Syrians we attain some level of military parity. Add Egypt and Saudi Arabia to the Mix and it is easy to see we are outflanked with a near superpower supplying and giving cover to our mortal enemies.

America being tied down in Iraq and with Bushes popularity now below 30% with election hysteria building in America it seems like all these forces are coalescing rapidly while the objects Israel and America are sleeping. Iran may or may not be close to a bomb but I believe that the Bomb at least initially will be used as covering stick to intimidate Israel ,America and the West, Put Shia Islam on Par with Sunni mainstream and win over tens of millions of Sunnis to the more aggressive and now dominant stream of Islam. The Russians flush with petro and steel money are willing to supply Syria and Egypt, yes Egypt ( America does not have a monopoly here). The Russians are back in here too and now are being paid in Cash by recepients where in pre 67 days most was given as barter or grants and phony loans they knew would never be paid.

The word Defense with all that this term implies must be dropped ASAP from The conceptual thinking of our politicians and Army. THE IDF SHOUL BE TRANSFORMED INTO THE ARMY OF ISRAEL. NOWHERE IS THE TORAH IS THE CONCEPT OF DEFENSE STATED. THERE WAS A CONCEPT OF WAR AND PEACE BUT THE WORD DEFENSE WAS ALIEN. THE CONCEPT OF DEFENSE HAS BECOME A SELF DEFEATING DOCTRINE .

this article written in 1951 is as true today if not more so.I strongly urge all to read and comment upon.much of the answers to our situation are contained within.
