Ma’ariv survey: Likud collapsing, coalition taking a dive

Feb 24, 2023

A survey conducted by the Panels Politics Institute, under the direction of Dr. Menachem Lazar, and published in Ma’ariv, found that if Knesset elections were held today, the coalition parties would receive only 55 seats, while the opposition would get 65.

Yesh Atid would become the largest party with 27 seats, while the Likud would drop to just 26. The biggest beneficiary of the Likud’s shrinking would be the National Unity party led by Benny Gantz, Gideon Sa’ar and Gadi Eisenkot, which according to the survey, would increase to 19 seats.

The rest of the results: Shas – 10, United Torah Judaism (UTJ) – 7, Otzma Yehudit – 7, Labor – 5, Hadash – Ta’al – 5, Religious Zionism Party – 5, Yisrael Beytenu – 5 Meretz – 4.

  1. In democracies such as Britain, the United States, New Zealand, judges do NOT elect or select new judges so to say that the current Israeli government is anti-democractic for having the gall to elect new Supreme Court judges from the people’s chamber in the Knesset is thoughtless hysteria promted by a losing left-wing coaltion whose street protests and anti-government propaganda is funded by radial left wing NGOs in Israel and abroad..

  2. I listened to a lecture by Caroline Glick on February 22, 2023 in Toronto. The case for judicial reform was laid out in its entirety. Those opposed to judicial reform even with minor compromise, are myopic at best and idealogically driven to maintain the status quo against the democratic will of the people. Shame.

  3. Did the pollsters ask if Labour and Meretz were willing to amalgamate ?
Similarly are the Arab parties willing to turn out their voters and work together ?

Yet another case of the extremists holding the rest of us hostage – a useful counterpoint to thise who complain tha tdemocracy tends towards the tyranny of big parties/coalitions.

  4. So, we are to believe that the only position on which the Left did not campaign, ie their opposition to judicial reform, is THE issue which would provide the the support needed not only to finally topple Likud from its position as the largest party in Knessett since Bibi took back control of the party but also to gain a massive swing of 10MKs for their block? And all within only two months of the new govt being formed following them receiving a mandate based upon this same issue of judicial reform? Such tall fictions will continue to be written by the Fake News as the non-election day polls will be the only contest which the failing Left have any chance of winning, and even in their greatest fantasies, their only hope of achieving power is in combination with the anti-Zionist Arab parties.

There is only one lesson which the govt should draw from this obsurd fantasy which was obviously dreamt up to reinvigorate a crumbling and seditious Left, namely to stay the course and fulfill the mandate which the people handed to them.
