Since the Jordanian government began its crackdown on opposition protests ion June 9 of this year, Mudarr Zahran has been able to publish only three videos of protest demonstations in Jordan. Before that he was able to publish videos of anti-Abdullah demonstrations almost every day. Apparently this was because the king’s inner circle, even his intelligence and police services, were sympathetic to the opposition and conspiring to overthrow him.
Two of the demonstrations videos that he has been able to show since then were small affairs of about 20 people, but unafraid to be photographed and to chant abuse of Abdullah. The third was a bigger one, iin the large provincial city of Zarqa. Difficult to be exact about the size of the crowd, but at least 100 and perhaps more. Again, no one afraid of being photographed. The opposition is clearly reorganizing and gradually returning to the streets. But its been tough since Abdullah regained control of the police and instituted a crackdown.
@ alan:
Encouraging, the West Bank on the border with Jordan and Jordan should become “the” Palestinian state and all Palestinians move from Gaza and parts of the West Bank to Jordan because a divided country with Israel in the middle will not work!
A smart man. They will probably murder him.
