Natasha Hausdorff discusses the armed conflict with Iran with Hillel Neuer of UN Watch

Peloni:  Great interview between Hillel Neuer, Executive Director of UN Watch, and Natasha Hausdorff, a leading British barrister and international law expert, where they discuss the international legal implications of the current war in Iran.  Amid the discussion Natasha explains the significant distinction which exists between a “resort to force” and an “ongoing armed conflict” under international law.  They also address the doctrine of preemptive self-defense in the context of nuclear proliferation threats as well as how UN agencies are being employed to propagate pro-Iranian propaganda. Beyond this, topics discuss include the “aggression” narrative used to delegitimize support for the US-Israel attack, the multi layered basis for the attack on Iran, and the reality that international humanitarian law is intended aimed at intentions rather than outcomes, and much more.
