New Rule: No Jews, No News | Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO)

Peloni:  This is a really significant statement spoken by Bill Maher addressing the libels which support and expand antisemitism.  I would argue that Maher’s false portrayal of the statement by Rep. Randy Fine as being that of a bigot, rather than recognizing it as a statement regarding the intolerance which Muslims actually do have for dogs, stands out among the truths carried in this monologue.

    by contrast:

    obama assassinated bin laden but gave him an honorable burial +2 Yes, U.S. forces operating under President Obama’s orders assassinated Osama bin Laden in 2011, after which the administration provided the al-Qaeda leader with religious rites and an at-sea burial.Details of the burial include:Islamic Traditions: U.S. officials consulted with experts in Islamic law and ensured the body was washed, wrapped in a shroud, and had religious remarks read in Arabic by a native speaker before burial.Burial at Sea: The body was buried in the North Arabian Sea from the deck of the USS Carl Vinson.Strategic Rationale: The administration chose a sea burial instead of returning the body to his family or interring him on land to prevent a designated grave site from becoming a shrine or rallying point for extremists.Official Perspective: President Obama stated the burial was handled in a manner that was “appropriate” and “respectful” of Islamic ritual, deliberately showing that the U.S. abides by legal and moral standards even when dealing with its enemies.While the Obama administration defined these actions as respectful and conforming to Islamic tradition, the decision generated some controversy and debate among Muslim clerics and scholars over the validity of burial at sea. You can learn more about the official justification on Reuters or examine the historical context of the operation on Al Jazeera.

  2. @Peloni He doesn’t mention Dan Blitzerian. Does he not know about him?

    Dan Bilzerian Accused of Inquiring About Assassinating Ben Shapiro, Israeli Officials

    This guy is running against Randy Fine in the Republican primary. He’s a Nazi.

    I googled the question;

    “what does dan bilzerian say about palestine +5 Dan Bilzerian is a vocal supporter of Palestine, often describing Israel as an “apartheid” and “terrorist state”. He has fiercely defended Palestinians in the ongoing conflict, frequently referring to them as the true Semites of the region and pushing for the complete removal of U.S. military aid to Israel.His commentary includes highly inflammatory rhetoric and conspiracy theories that have sparked significant global backlash and condemnation. Notable statements and claims from Bilzerian include:Support for Hamas: He has claimed that Hamas are not terrorists, but rather “an army fighting for their country against the worst terror organization on the planet” (Israel).Genocide Claims: He has accused Israel of operating an apartheid state and committing a genocide against Palestinians.Disinformation Claims: He frequently claims that the atrocities and casualties from the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel were exaggerated or orchestrated to justify taking Palestinian land.You can read more about the political and public reactions to his controversial stance in this article from the Times of Israel.”

      Yes, and the tweet regarding dogs and Muslims is taken out of context. It is used to imply the denigration of Muslims, but in fact it is related to the hatred of dogs by Muslims, and under Sharia law, dogs would not be allowed as domestic pets.

      In so far as he went, Maher is to be congradulated for painting a fair and accurate picture of the outrages adopted by his fellow Democrats, but the assault on Rep. Fine was part of the same disinformation which Maher was himself objecting about his fellow Dems with the majority of his dialogue.
