Normalization Could Create a Real “New Middle East”

By Victor Rosenthal

The main thing you need to know about the normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates is that Iran, Turkey, the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, IfNotNowJewish Voice for Peace, and other enemies of the Jewish state oppose it.

Opponents of the deal like to call it a “betrayal of the Palestinians.” It isn’t: rather, it’s a betrayal of the PLO and Hamas, organizations which are the worst thing to happen to Palestinian Arabs since the Nazi Mufti Amin al-Husseini.

Countries don’t have feelings and don’t form friendships. They have interests and form alliances in support of them. The PLO was created in 1964 by Nasser’s regime in order to promote Egyptian objectives, which were to conquer and annex as much as possible of the new state of Israel; later it came under the influence of the KGB, which employed it on behalf of Soviet interests in the region.

The Israel-UAE Agreement’s Greatest Achievement: Little Arab Protest

By ,BESA

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,729, September 3, 2020

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: To the surprise of Iranian and Palestinian leaders, the Arab public did not protest the Israel-UAE peace agreement—but they continue to protest Iranian meddling in Iraqi and Lebanese affairs. The lack of protest against the Israel-UAE breakthrough is a sign of political maturity as Arab and Muslim populations clamor for reform at home rather than destructive ideological visions.

DOJ and DHS Confirm Active Federal Probe into Criminal Activity and Funding Related to Violent Riots

By Debra Heine, AM GREATNESS

The Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security confirmed this week that the DOJ is investigating the organizers and funders behind the violent riots that have engulfed the country since May.

“We are investigating coordinated, criminal activity—not First Amendment activity—and violence related to riots, destruction of federal property and violence against law enforcement officers,” said DOJ spokesperson Kerri Kupec on Tuesday.

Campus Craziness

Compiled by Robert Sklaroff

{These musings are not provided in any particular sequence.}

Problems at Colleges/Universities are legion, manifest by students, teachers and administrators; they are routinely interlaced with anti-America/anti-Jewish motivations, and they often threaten those who try to protest via the “Cancel Culture” mechanism (as amply documented by the Legal Insurrection Foundation led by @ Columbia Law School William A. Jacobson, Esq.

Uman, Judaism, Coronavirus, and Pogroms

R. Fischer. I couldn’t be more strongly opposed to this mass trip to Uman. But this year, I found that I could be even more strongly opposed.

By Rabbi Prof. Dov Fischer, INN

I have always been strongly opposed to the mass exodus from Israel to mark Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur in Uman. For years I have published my feelings on the matter. In normal years, the mass exodus is wrong on many levels. In no particular order:

1. Men leave their wives and families for Rosh Hashannah? For Yom Kippur? Where does this come from? A family, if at all possible, should spend the High Holidays together. The father should be on site for the children to observe and to learn from him and how he conducts himself on such a day of awe. Even on a regular Shabbat, a husband should eat his meal with his wife and children. OK, sometimes there is an emergency and someone has to be away on business. OK. But that is not Uman.

Yes, I know that Rabbi Nachman told his followers to come to his grave to pray, but the Ra’avan (Rabbi Avraham ben Nachman)’s closest talmid, Rabbi Levi Yitschak Bender, said in a Yiddish recording that Rabbi Nachman’s words were not intended for those in Eretz Yisrael (the informationis from a Hebrew article).

The Israel Defense Forces struck some 100 Hamas targets in August in response to a wave of terrorism from the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military said on Tuesday.

Following Monday’s announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas—whereby the terrorist organization agreed to halt arson and rocket attacks, as well as border riots, in exchange for an easing of border and fishing-zone restrictions—the IDF released a list of the retaliatory actions it took over the past few weeks.

Charts compare COVID deaths in countries that used hydroxychloroquine early and those that didn’t

By James Stansbury, AMERICAN THINKER

[..]
Meanwhile, the left’s successful war against hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) rages on.  The subject was brought up repeatedly by highly respected Yale epidemiology professor Dr. Harvey Risch, this time when interviewed by Mark Levin on Fox News a couple of Sundays ago.  Dr. Risch is adamant that HCQ can significantly reduce mortality if administered early to prevent the potentially deadly inflammation reaction that is especially common in older patients and those with comorbidities.  Thousands could have been saved.  PragerU posted similar claims by several frontline doctors here.  The left’s cancel culture got some of these same doctors fired.

It has been my personal quest to find some hard proof that compares countries that have widely used HCQ early in the pandemic with those who did not.  Some key data finally emerged from a site devoted to climate change in a 23 August article by Leo Goldstein titled “Hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 Treatment, Actual Usage in the USA.”  The needed comparisons were found in one of the author’s references, titled Early treatment with hydroxychloroquine: a country-based analysis.

Will Abbas be forced to about-face on the Temple Mount?

Normalization between Israel and the United Arab Emirates has created a dilemma for PA leader Mahmoud Abbas, who since 2012 has gone against the school of thought that forbids non-Palestinian Muslims from visiting Jerusalem.

The huge signs waved only days ago on the Temple Mount calling Emirati Crown Prince Mohammed Ben Zayed a “traitor,” the pictures of the Emirati leader that were burned and the UAE flags that were trampled outside the Dome of the Rock don’t seem to be a good sign for Jared Kushner’s religious peace vision, a story that has slipped under the radar amid all the coverage of Israeli-Emirati normalization.

The fatwa published last week by Palestinian Authority Mufti Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, which forbids Muslims who travel through the UAE from praying at Al-Aqsa Mosque, does not fit in with American expectations.

An elite private school in Baltimore founded by Jews is revamping its curriculum in response to a pressure campaign by Black Lives Matter activists demanding an examination of the school’s “wealth hoarding” and “tolerance of Zionism”, The Washington Free Beacon reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, BLM activists’ latest academic target is Baltimore’s Park School, which was founded in 1912 by Jews who were barred entry into the city’s existing private schools.

RFK, Jr., CHD Take Action on Safety Concerns re Moderna’s COVID Vaccine

By Dianne Irving

[Note:  And these problems don’t even include the fact that Moderna (and other vaccines currently being produced) use genetically engineered m-RNA technology that permanently changes the functioning of the mitochondrial DNA in each of your cells and that it infects every cell in your body, including your sperm or oocytes — and thus such genetic changes are passed down through all your future generations as well.

Called “Germ Line Gene Editing” and internationally rejected as harmful;  see, e.g., the Center for Genetics and Society, “BioPolitical Times” (January 31 2020), “The “Geneva Statement” Calls for Course Correction on Heritable Genome Editing”,

WASHINGTON — The F-35 Joint Program Office has put in place stopgap fixes for five key technical flaws plaguing America’s top-end fighter jet, but the problems have not been completely eliminated.

Last June, Defense News reported exclusive details about 13 major technical issues, known as category 1 deficiencies, impacting the F-35. The JPO has since quietly downgraded five of those issues to the lesser category 2.

By Alex VanNess & Ryan Mauro | August 31, 2020

Clarion Project has discovered another $3.2 billion in foreign financing of U.S. universities and colleges that the schools failed to originally disclose as required by law.

The Education Department is in the midst of an investigation into the foreign financing, which a Senate investigatory report described as a “black hole.”

The discovery comes as the Clarion Project is set to release its new documentary, Covert Cash, about the foreign financing and influencing of U.S. schools.

The Palestinians have been left on their own

Peace between Israel and the UAE could have benefitted the Palestinians enormously, but they prefer to cling to frustration, anger, and dreams that will never come true.

By Prof. Eyal Zisser, ISRAEL HAYOM

Israel and the United Arab Emirates are now taking another important step toward peace.

This weekend’s announcement that the UAE was cancelling its economic boycott of Israel, the first commercial flight that departed for the UAE from Ben-Gurion International Airport, and the start of practical negotiations for implementing peace all show that the Emirati leaders are determined to make sure the peace deal includes real content, maintain warm ties with Israel, and cooperate with it on economic ventures, rather than just defense.

New Study Shows COVID-19 Lockdowns 10 Times More Deadly Than Virus Itself

T. Belman. So the new CDC numbers say that only 6% of the deaths listed Covid 19 as the only cause. That is the equivalent to 0.33% the US population .  Such morbidity doesn’t remotely justify either a lockdown or a vaccine.  What it does suggest is that government policies should focus on people who have  life threatening conditions, most of whom aren’t working anyway.

By Debra Heine, AM GREATNESS   •

COVID-19 lockdowns have shortened the lifespans of Americans much more than the virus itself, an eye-opening new study has found.

According to the study, commissioned by Revolver News, Coronavirus lockdowns are ten times more deadly to American citizens than the actual COVID-19 virus, and have devastated long term financial and social stability.

Drawing on existing economic studies on the health effects of unemployment, the Revolver study sought to quantify the net damage of the lockdowns in terms of a metric known as “life-years” and compared that number to how many lives will have been saved by the lockdowns.
