Why is there such a focus on the COVID positivity rate versus testing and treating the most vulnerable?

By Jack Hellner, AMERICAN THINKER

Every day we hear about low and high positivity rates as if that is the most major point in addressing COVID-19.

Illinois and New York currently have low positivity rates and the media treats their governors as if they are geniuses.

But over four months into the virus, through July 21st:

Florida has ten million more residents than Illinois, and 2,200 fewer deaths. Texas has 17.5 million more residents, and 3,200 fewer deaths. The positivity rate on deaths in Illinois is clearly much higher.

Ten Things I’ll Never forget-

Author Unknown, but someone with wisdom wrote it.

A memo to the legion of the chronically aggrieved.

There are people who live to be offended. They’re called Progressives. They are offended by Confederate statues, by monuments that they say celebrate white supremacy and colonialism, by Trump supporters, by Trump himself, and by those who refuse to get on their knees and grovel before Black Lives Matter.

Well, I’ve got news for them.

An Open Letter to the Legion of Lamentation:
I don’t give a rodent’s rear end if you’re offended by the following:

1. I’m white — I don’t feel guilty about slavery, segregation, the Trail of Tears or the treatment of Chinese railroad workers — because (now get this) I didn’t have anything to do with any of this. I’m no more responsible for these injustices than the Indian of today is responsible for the Black Hole of Calcutta. The idea of racial guilt is absurd. White privilege is a myth. Where is the White Miss America Contest, White History Month and White Entertainment Television? Where are the quotas and set-asides for Caucasians?

You Say You Want a Revolution

by Victor Rosenthal

You say you’ll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
Well, you know
You better free your mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow – The Beatles

About two weeks and 231 years ago, on 14 July 1789, Parisians fearing a military coup that would disrupt progress toward the democratization of the regime being made in the new National Assembly, forced their way into the Bastille in search of gunpowder. Violence rapidly escalated (the commander of the garrison ended up with his head on a pike), and what we know as the French Revolution began that day.

What If the Palestinian Authority Disbands?

By Brig.-Gen. (res.) Yossi Kuperwasser

What If the Palestinian Authority Disbands?
President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian cabinet

Institute for Contemporary Affairs (Founded jointly with the Wechsler Family Foundation)

 • Palestinian officials have recently threatened that if Israel applies sovereignty in parts of the West Bank territories of Judea and Samaria, they will stop the Palestinian Authority from operating. This study examines the significance of this threat, regardless of the very low likelihood of this scenario.
 • The very existence of the Palestinian Authority has been the most significant achievement of the Palestinian national movement, and the collapse of the PA could lead to a Hamas takeover of the Palestinian political system in the West Bank. In addition, the disintegration of the PA could harm the source of income for its many officials and leaders.

The Warsaw Ghetto, November 1941. Some 450,000 people, most of them Jews, were packed into an area of some 1.3 square miles, ten times the density of modern-day high-rise cities.

Typhus was spreading like wildfire through the dirty, crowded streets of the ghetto. Typhus, the Nazis said, was why a ghetto was necessary in the first place; Jews spread disease.

Ten of thousands lay ill and dying, and a harsh winter — when the sickness caused by the typhus bacterium is especially virulent — was still ahead.

Tehran-Beijing is the New Fact of Life

Maybe Trump was right all along?

By Michael Ledeen, FPM

There are lots of stories telling about an impending deal between China and Iran, about which U.S. officials Keith Krach and Brian Hook issue a warning: “not so fast.”

To be sure, these two totalitarian countries have frequently indicated their intentions to merge their forces against the American and Israeli democracies, and play a hegemonic role in the Middle East and the South China sea. This goes back several decades, if not centuries, and is one of the Chinese historic goals: establishing a global presence.

No one should be surprised by the start of the mutual agreement:

It is hard to count the achievements of Israel’s new corona czar, Professor Ronni Gamzu: medical studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and in Tel Aviv, a specialty in gynecology, director of the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv, former director general of the Health Ministry, and a senior health policy analyst for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Now he has taken on what could be the biggest job of his life. Shortly before midnight Wednesday, he received a phone call from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who asked him to take on the unenviable role of coordinating the government’s war on the coronavirus epidemic in Israel.

Supreme Court’s LGBT Rights Ruling Raises Questions For Women’s Sports, Religious Freedom

By Kevin Daley, FREE BEACON JULY 25, 2020

Supreme Court

June’s landmark Supreme Court decision on employment discrimination and LGBT rights will have consequences well beyond the workplace, touching on a number of cultural flash points.

The Court’s June 15 ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County announced that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which bans sex-based discrimination, also bars discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. A six-justice majority concluded that sex, homosexuality, and gender identity are inextricably bound up with one another, such that they cannot be distinguished.

Dehumanizing and Demonizing Skeptics Who Don’t Wear Face Masks

By Dennis Behreandt, NEW AMERICAN

Dehumanizing and Demonizing Skeptics Who Don't Wear Face Masks

You might not think of yourself as an axe murderer. But, according to today’s liberal-progressive propaganda, if you don’t wear a face mask in public you’re definitely, probably akin to an axe murderer.

The purveyors of fear propaganda don’t use that language. Instead, they say this: People who won’t wear a mask possess “so-called ‘Dark Triad’ traits — narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism.” And they are “less likely to comply with restrictions and engage in preventative measures against the pandemic.” So says Newsweek reporting on “two recent studies” that “looked at the relationship between personality traits and reactions to restrictions put in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.”

‘Lebanon Crisis Is So Deep, Nasrallah Has No Time for Iran’

Overlooking a darkening front, head of the IDF’s Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, says Lebanon and Hezbollah are undergoing the worst crisis in their history. But an internal collapse there, he warns, will be just as dangerous for Israel

By Amos Harel, HAARETZ

Israel’s northern neighbor is in the throes of a vast economic shock that calls into question even the simplest, everyday operations. The resulting tension places Hezbollah in an uncomfortable situation. Concurrently, the organization also sustains occasion collateral damage from Israel’s partially covert military campaign against Iran in Syria.

The Silent Majority Won’t Be So Silent Come November

By Larry O’Cnnor, TOWNHALL

The Silent Majority Won't Be So Silent Come November

No one who has been paying attention to our society should be shocked by this.

From Fox News’ Tucker Carlson nearly getting doxxed by The New York Times to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees being ostracized by the same sports league he helped enrich to a teacher in Michigan getting fired for saying Donald Trump is our president (which, last time I checked was an undeniable fact) publicly expressing any opinion that goes against the authors of The 1619 Project or the most extreme sexual deviance of Hollywood’s radical left endangers one’s privacy, career, and even physical well-being.
