Coalition chairman: We will never accept establishment of a Palestinian state

MK Miki Zohar says ‘Deal of the Century’ can serve as a basis for negotiations, does not require Israel to accept Palestinian state

T. Belman. I agree..  The Plan is a vision only and our obligation is to agree to negotiate the Plan in good faith. Everything is negotiable except for the pre-conditions laid down by Trump requiring the PA to become Canada. The Palestinians have to actually satisfy these conditions and not just agree to do them.

ARUTZ SHEVA

Coalition chairman MK Miki Zohar wrote a post on his Facebook page Tuesday entitled: ‘We will never recognize a Palestinian state.’

“During the Likud faction meeting yesterday, my colleagues and I discussed in-depth President Trump’s Deal of the Century, and I want to share some important insights with you,” Zohar began.

“The Prime Minister has unequivocally announced that neither the Knesset nor the government would ever agree to the establishment of a Palestinian state under any conditions,” he said.

Builders and Destroyers: The 2020 Battle for America

by Linda Goudsmit, PUNDICITY

There are two kinds of people in this world – builders and destroyers. You know who you are.

Our forefathers were builders who rejected monarchy in favor of limited government and the challenge of self-rule. Our forefathers understood the difference between servitude and citizenship. They chose freedom and built a more perfect union – a government of the people, by the people, for the people. The building of the United States of America was the most successful experiment in individual freedom and prosperity the world has ever known.

Our forefathers built America with a Constitution articulating its secular laws, and the Ten Commandments articulating its moral laws. We are a Judeo-Christian country built on the Judeo-Christian foundation of the Ten Commandments. Let’s examine them.

When Islam Conquers

Remembering the rape of an ancient Christian city.

By Raymond Ibrahim, FPM

This last May 29 was the 567th-year anniversary of the Islamic conquest of Constantinople, one of ancient Christianity’s greatest capitals that for the previous seven centuries had, as Europe’s easternmost bulwark, withstood Islam.

Lesser known is what immediately followed this Muslim seizure of “New Rome”—which Turkey is immensely proud of—as described below (note: all quotes are from contemporary sources, mostly eyewitnesses):

Israel’s government will hold a discussion on the grave threat posed by the illegal takeover of Area C by the Palestinian Authority.Israel’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee will meet this Tuesday to discuss the illegal land grabs of Palestinians in Area C, an area designated for Israeli-control in the Oslo Accords, Hebrew weekly Makor Rishon reports. The three Knesset members who requested the special meeting, Likud MK Shlomo Karai, Shas MK Moshe Arbel and Yemina MK Matan Kahane, did so in light of the coming annexation of parts of Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley.

“At a time when the government of Israel is preparing a plan to apply Israeli sovereignty on areas of Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley, the Palestinian Authority is accelerating its control over many open areas of Area C,” said Karai.

Taking a knee to the destroyers of worlds

By Melanie Phillips, JUNE 10, 2020

Over the years, I have repeatedly warned in these columns that the refusal of the political establishment to defend the integrity of the western nation and its culture has opened the way for noxious forces to occupy the vacuum.

We’ve seen this in both the spread through the west of jihadi Islam and the rise across Europe of political parties and groups with racist or fascist backgrounds and antecedents.

In the current convulsions triggered by the violent death of George Floyd in American police custody, this baleful development has reached a crisis point.

As The Times reports today, thuggish groups across the country have begun organising to “protect” monuments and war memorials after statues of Winston Churchill and Queen Victoria were defaced, the Cenotaph in London attacked and other statues, including the one of Sir Francis Drake in Plymouth, vandalised.

Pompeo warns: China is ‘growing challenge’ for Israel, U.S.

Speaking at virtual annual conference, secretary of state says Trump administration considers China a threat to American ‘way of life’, slams human rights abuses

By Amir Tibon, HAARETZ  Washington | Jun. 14, 2020

WASHINGTON – United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Sunday that China represents a “growing challenge” to both the U.S. and Israel, and is viewed by the Trump administration as a threat to their “way of life.”

During a speech before the American Jewish Committee which held its annual conference virtually in light of the Coronavirus crisis, Pompeo attacked China for its foreign policy, and for quashing human rights within its borders, as well as for its attempt to take away the civil rights of the citizens of Hong Kong.

China, Pompeo said, “endangers all of us” with its behavior. “We all must be alert to the Chinese Communist Party’s threat to our way of life,” he cautioned. Pompeo also accused China of spreading “disinformation campaigns” in other countries.

BLM spreads the virus of antisemitism

By Karen Harradine, CONSERVATIVE WOMAN, UK

THE squabbles over Dominic Cummings might seem a faint memory but politicians from all parties are still demonstrating their double standards. They happily cheer on Black Lives Matter (BLM) demonstrators, gathering in their thousands around the country, while it’s still illegal for the rest of us to visit our elderly parents. Whatever the ‘one rule for them and another for us’ judgment over Cummings, it is now quite clear there is one rule for law-abiding citizens who obey the draconian lockdown and one for the thugs creating havoc in the name of protesting against racism.

Of the absurd as well as shocking images we’ve been besieged with from these protests – worthy of Chairman Mao’s show trials during the Cultural Revolution – the most obscene has been the sight of politicians and police ‘taking the knee’.

The Arab American who outfoxed America’s Jewish leadership

Around 1990, James Zogby, president of the Arab American Institute, traveled to Jordan to raise interest in his plan to undermine the Jewish community in America by organizing the Left here against Israel’s “oppression” of Palestinians.

Zogby saw the power of framing Israelis as “white oppressors” of innocent, indigenous, darker-skinned Palestinians. And he saw the possibilities of mobilizing left-leaning ethnic, racial, and religious groups against “Israeli oppression.”

The prescient Zogby understood how the Jewish left could easily become the willing lynchpin of his strategy.

IDF girds for West Bank annexation fallout, including possible new terror ‘war’

TV reports that officials left in ‘fog’ as Netanyahu yet to reveal scope of move, with military plans being drawn up for everything from calm to onslaught of suicide bombings

Just over two weeks before a possible Israeli annexation of some as-yet unspecified portion of the West Bank, the Israel Defense Forces is preparing for a wide range of scenarios for potential regional fallout — up to and including a large-scale wave of terror attacks — while still not being told exactly what the government has in mind.

The military is gearing up for possible massive unrest, Channel 12 reported Sunday evening, including what it is calling a potential “state of war” characterized by a Second Intifada-style onslaught of suicide bombing attacks.

The coalition agreement between Likud and Blue and White stipulates that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu can advance an annexation proposal in the cabinet or Knesset beginning July 1. Netanyahu has promised to do so at that date, though he has faced growing pressure from all sides, including leaders of West Bank settlements, to delay the move.

The unmistakable echoes in the culture war against the West

Palestinianism is the poster cause of Western progressives. It is no coincidence that the tactics being used in the culture war against the West turn out to be the same tactics used against Israel.

By Melanie Phillips, jns

In Britain, statues of historical figures associated with colonialism or slavery are being pulled down or slated for removal.

This is to appease the Black Lives Matters activists and their supporters, both black and white, who have seized upon the appalling death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody to claim that Western society is fundamentally racist.

The destruction of these statues and other similar artifacts, which are part of the cultural memory of a civilization, inescapably calls to mind another act of cultural extermination – the Nazi regime’s burning of books in the 1930s.

Israel, US are adamant to implement sovereignty by September’

T. Belman. Yes, the Jordan Valley first. I believe it will take place in early July. This will be done without reference to the Trump Plan. As for the settlements, no one thinks that Israel won’t keep them so there is no rush.

Israeli sovereignty will initially be applied in “large swathes” of the Jordan Valley. Sovereignty in the large settlement blocs will be carried out at later stages, not this July, and will initially include Maale Adumim and large portions of Gush Etzion, says a senior Palestinian Authority official.

Israel’s application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley will be more limited and less broad in scope than originally planned – moderate Arab countries have been telling senior Palestinian officials recently, Arab diplomatic sources confirmed to Israel Hayom.

The sources emphasized that Israeli and American officials in Jerusalem and Washington have made up their minds to implement sovereignty between July and September. A senior official in Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ bureau also confirmed the details, saying the messages were delivered to Abbas and his advisers via senior officials from moderate Arab countries at the request of Israel and the American administration.

Greenblatt to ‘Post’: Applying Israeli law in J&S is not illegal

T. Belman. International law holds that the lands are ours. To say they are “disputed” doesn’t alter the fact that they are ours.  The Arabs have no right to them.  In my opinion to say they are disputed in a misnomer.

It is not Palestinian land. It is land that is disputed, and the only way to resolve this is if the two sides can negotiate a settlement of the dispute directly together.

On Friday, an opinion piece by Yousef al-Otaiba, United Arab Emirates ambassador to the United States, was published in an Israeli newspaper. I spent three years at the White House working to bring Israel and its Arab neighbors closer, and though the op-ed’s overall message potentially undermines my efforts and those of the Trump administration, I commend Otaiba for writing it. I am glad he spoke directly to an Israeli audience.

Moreover, his piece is well written and devoid of the hysteria and robot-like comments often seen from diplomats and politicians who speak about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

With U.S. in turmoil, Netanyahu’s annexation dream is fading

Analysis: As U.S. is engulfed by racial justice protests and economic fallout from coronavirus, PM’s dream of annexing 30% of the West Bank grows more and more distant, and it seems he’ll probably have to settle for a more ‘symbolic’ move

On January 28, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced his Middle East peace plan, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left the White House accompanied by victorious fanfare, believing that in less than a week he would table plans for annexation of the Jordan Valley and all Israeli settlements in the West Bank for the government’s approval.

Since then, however, a rift has opened between Washington and Netanyahu, who is now trying to bridge the gap on various issues, while also trying to save face.

Netanyahu on Sunday is set to convene another meeting attended by U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, and Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin to devise an outline for the move that all parties can agree on.

The Israeli start-up turning harmful wastewater into renewable energy

The technology has been successfully tested at wastewater treatments sites in Karmiel and Netufa, and at a food plant in southern Israel.

An AgRobics wastewater treatment facility

Major industries may be quickly striding into a technologically-advanced and smarter future, but waste disposal solutions often remain stuck in the past.

Particularly harmful and complicated-to-treat wastewater streams, produced by municipalities and food processing factories worldwide, are often disposed of via land spreading or, in some cases, dumped into aquifers and rivers.

Seeking to bring the field of wastewater treatment into the 21st century, and embrace the popularity of circular economy technologies, Shfar’am-based AgRobics has developed a new “bio-stabilizer” technology that both improves wastewater treatment and collects biogas for energy production from the microorganism-rich waste.

Report: Haim Saban Behind UAE Ambassador’s Threatening Op-Ed Against Sovereignty

By David Israel, JEWISH PRESS

According to Barak Ravid reporting for Axios (Billionaire Haim Saban advised UAE ambassador on Israeli annexation op-ed), Israeli-American billionaire Haim Saban assisted in writing and publishing UAE Ambassador to Washington Yousef Al-Otaiba’s Friday’s op-ed in Yedioth Aharonoth (Annexation will be a serious setback for better relations with the Arab world).Al-Otaiba warned Israeli readers that a Netanyahu attempt to impose Israeli law on Jewish communities in about 30% of Judea and Samaria “will ignite violence and rouse extremists. It will send shock waves around the region, especially in Jordan whose stability – often taken for granted – benefits the entire region, particularly Israel.”Ravid cites Israeli sources who say Al-Otaiba asked Saban in early June how to best reach Israeli public opinion with a message against the plans for sovereignty, and Saban suggested the message should be in Hebrew and through a major media outlet – namely Yedioth.
