The Israeli start-up turning harmful wastewater into renewable energy

The technology has been successfully tested at wastewater treatments sites in Karmiel and Netufa, and at a food plant in southern Israel.

An AgRobics wastewater treatment facility

Major industries may be quickly striding into a technologically-advanced and smarter future, but waste disposal solutions often remain stuck in the past.

Particularly harmful and complicated-to-treat wastewater streams, produced by municipalities and food processing factories worldwide, are often disposed of via land spreading or, in some cases, dumped into aquifers and rivers.

Seeking to bring the field of wastewater treatment into the 21st century, and embrace the popularity of circular economy technologies, Shfar’am-based AgRobics has developed a new “bio-stabilizer” technology that both improves wastewater treatment and collects biogas for energy production from the microorganism-rich waste.

Report: Haim Saban Behind UAE Ambassador’s Threatening Op-Ed Against Sovereignty

By David Israel, JEWISH PRESS

Billionaire Haim Saban (r) with Secretary of State John Kerry and Ambassador Martin Indyk. / U.S. Department of State via Wikimedia

According to Barak Ravid reporting for Axios (Billionaire Haim Saban advised UAE ambassador on Israeli annexation op-ed), Israeli-American billionaire Haim Saban assisted in writing and publishing UAE Ambassador to Washington Yousef Al-Otaiba’s Friday’s op-ed in Yedioth Aharonoth (Annexation will be a serious setback for better relations with the Arab world).Al-Otaiba warned Israeli readers that a Netanyahu attempt to impose Israeli law on Jewish communities in about 30% of Judea and Samaria “will ignite violence and rouse extremists. It will send shock waves around the region, especially in Jordan whose stability – often taken for granted – benefits the entire region, particularly Israel.”Ravid cites Israeli sources who say Al-Otaiba asked Saban in early June how to best reach Israeli public opinion with a message against the plans for sovereignty, and Saban suggested the message should be in Hebrew and through a major media outlet – namely Yedioth.

Trump increases his support for Israel to unprecedented levels

by Ariel Kahana, Israel Hayom, 6/12/20

*By taking a clear stand against the International Criminal Court and backing it up with sanctions that also apply to ICC probes against Israel, the 45th president is once again proving himself Israel’s best friend.*

After threats comes action: Years of American warnings about the International Criminal Court’s continued probes prompted US President Donald Trump to take unprecedented steps against the problematic institution in The Hague on Thursday.

Trump, being Trump, has struck a direct blow to the staff of the ICC who were supposed to investigate ?US soldiers who were active in Afghanistan and Iraq. This applies not only ICC personnel, but also their ?property in the US and their families, who will not be allowed to enter the ?US.

The unseen opportunity National consensus is as important as sovereignty itself.

If we can get past the 53-year-long dispute that has torn us apart, we can redirect our energies to the serious domestic issues that require our attention.

By Nadav Shragai, ISRAEL HAYOM

Trump peace plan drives wedge between leaders of settler movement

Like two boxers who keep pummeling each other after the bell, the Right and Left are keeping up the debate over sovereignty because of their existing ritual rivalry without seeing that something fundamental has changed. The true, critical, and narrow window of opportunity that history is opening for us is not just the rare American backing for Israeli sovereignty in 30% of Judea and Samaria, but the one that allows us, for the first time, to reach a consensus amongst ourselves on an issue that has torn us apart for 53 years.

The tragedy is that the sides debating the future of the “territories” are so invested in what they have been doing for the last 50 years – fighting their political rivals until they bleed – that they can’t see the real issue.

Europeans Pushing to Boycott Israel Over Annexation Should Think Twice

Calls for economic sanctions against Israel risk a costly collision with U.S. anti-boycott laws, as companies such as Airbnb can attest.

By Richard Goldberg, Senior Advisor, FDD

Israel’s new government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, may soon declare Israeli sovereignty over roughly 30 percent of the West Bank, including major Israeli settlement blocs and the Jordan Valley. Some European governments are reportedly pushing the European Union for a tough response against Israel, including economic sanctions. European governments should reject these ideas—not just because they’re wrong, but also because they carry significant risks for European companies and economies.

An Israeli declaration of sovereignty over parts of the territories captured in the 1967 Six-Day War would do little to change the facts on the ground in the decadeslong Arab-Israeli conflict. Some argue that it could even bring Israel closer to making territorial concessions to the Palestinians, with Israelis feeling more secure in the long-term vision of a demilitarized Palestinian state in which Jewish population centers in the West Bank become part of Israel and Israel maintains security control over the Jordan Valley. Indeed, the prospect that incorporating a large part of the West Bank into Israel proper might be a prelude to Palestinian statehood in the rest is already drawing concern from Netanyahu’s right flank.

The U.S. Troop Reduction in Germany is Not About NATO

By Shoshana Bryen and Stephen Bryen The Washington Times   June 12, 2020 •

Germany has been a thorn in Washington’s side on many issues from its failure to spend 2% of its very healthy GDP on its own military defense to its trade with Iran — including, some suspect, under-the-table nuclear goods trade — and the promotion of a U.S.-independent European Army.

For years it was on the wrong side on terrorism and terror-funding policy, only recently declaring Hezbollah a terrorist organization. And it is completely on the wrong side, from Washington’s point of view, on energy. The Germans are not only dependent on Russian natural gas supplies but are backing the newest pipeline to pump even more Russian gas into Germany and across Europe.

And so, when President Trump announced a planned reduction in American troop strength in Germany, it was seen as a knock on Germany and on NATO and a gift to Russia. Germany, maybe. NATO, no. And Russia won’t be pleased.

INTO THE FRAY: Judicial overreach & the sovereignty imperative

By Martin Sherman, IISS

Excessive judicial intervention into what is seen as the purview of the legislature is likely to have some unintended consequences: Energizing the drive to extend Israeli sovereignty over Judea-Samaria—and sparking far-reaching judicial reform.

The Supreme Court has lost it. It declares itself the legislature, executive, and judiciary all at the same timeMinister of Health, Yuli Edelstein, June 9, 2020.

We congratulate the Supreme Court for finally removing its mask and abandoning its pretense of impartialityRegavim, June 9, 2020

…the High Court today declared war on the right of Jews to settle in the Land of Israel. Applying sovereignty and expanding construction are the best answers to the High Court’s ruling…The decision of the Supreme Judges is a definitive proof of our duty to apply sovereignty to Judea and SamariaMinister of Settlements, Tsipi Hotovely, June 9, 2020.

ANALYSIS: The Supreme Court and Israeli law in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley

“Annexation” is not necessary because Israel had and has the best claim to these areas.

By Yochanan Visser, INN    , 11/06/20 23:12

Jordan Valley

Jordan Valley

Israeli Supreme Court took another controversial decision on Tuesday and declared a law passed by the Knesset in 2017 invalid. Under the now annulled legislation, more than 4,000 homes of Jews in Judea and Samaria were declared legal, and the municipalities in the historic heartland of Israel were given the right to confiscate Palestinian Arab land for new construction according to zoning plans and provided the owners were compensated generously for the loss of their real estate.

The Supreme Court decision brought joy to the left-wing camp in Israel and satisfaction among the Palestinian Arabs whose representatives from EU-sponsored NGOs brought the case to the court.

The Likud party of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu immediately announced that new legislation would be introduced that would effectively overturn the Supreme Court decision.

Why the UAE’s Unprecedented Annexation Warning to Israel Matters

by Seth Frantzman, JPOST

UAE Ambassador to the US Yousef Al Otaiba warned Israel that annexing parts of the West Bank would “upend Israeli aspirations” for improved ties with the Arab world.

Israelis woke up to a potential new era on Friday with an article by the United Arab Emirates ambassador to the US warning that Israel’s planned annexation of parts of the West Bank would “upend Israeli aspirations for improved security, economic and cultural ties with the Arab world and with the UAE.”

The message was titled “annexation of normalization.” This is an unprecedented warning coming from a country that doesn’t have relations with Israel but where relations appeared to have unique potential.

The article has several important ramifications, what follows are the top five.

Shabbas Goy in Brooklyn

I was the Shabbes Goy of Sterling Place and Utica Ave.

by Joe Velarde

(Joe Velarde became the fencing coach of Columbia University in the 1940’s-50s and was an early advocate of civil rights in sports, eventually retiring to California.)

Snow came early in the winter of 1933 when our extended Cuban family moved into the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn . I was ten years old. We were the first Spanish speakers to arrive, yet we fit more or less easily into that crowded, multicultural neighborhood. Soon we began learning a little Italian, a few Greek and Polish words, lots of Yiddish and some heavily accented English.

I first heard the expression ‘Shabbes is falling’ when Mr. Rosenthal refused to open the door of his dry goods store on Bedford Avenue . My mother had sent me with a dime to buy a pair of black socks for my father. In those days, men wore mostly black and Navy blue. Brown and gray were somehow special and cost more. Mr. Rosenthal stood inside the locked door, arms folded, glaring at me through the thick glass while a heavy snow and darkness began to fall on a Friday evening. “We’re closed, already”, Mr.Rosenthal had said, shaking his head, “can’t you see that Shabbes is falling? Don’t be a nudnik! Go home.” I could feel the cold wetness covering my head and thought that Shabbes was the Jewish word for snow.

If AIPAC isn’t supporting Israel’s government, what’s its purpose?

T. Belman. AIPAC must forget about bipartisan support.  Just like Israel must act unilaterally, so must the US act without seeking concensus with the Democrats or Europeans, and American Jews must support both Israel and Trump unilateralism.

By distancing itself from Jerusalem on annexation, the lobby is creating a crisis for the pro-Israel community, no matter who wins the next US election.

By Jonathan S. Tobin, ISRAEL HAYOM

Some 25 years ago, I sat in on a briefing of some pro-Israel activists conducted by Steve Rosen, who was then AIPAC’s director of foreign-policy issues. It was the heyday of the Oslo Accords, in which the Israeli government led by Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was gambling on the willingness of the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s Yasser Arafat to make peace. Some of those present were opponents of the agreement and were deeply frustrated by the lobby’s support for the peace process, which they believed was harming the Jewish state.

Rosen’s reply to those present that day was clear: AIPAC’s job is to support the policies of the government of Israel. Period. If you don’t like what that government is doing, then tell your friends in Israel who oppose Rabin to win the next election. Until then, anyone connected to the lobby had two choices: Get on board with the group’s support for Oslo or shut up.

Time for Trump to be Trump at home and abroad

Trump’s reversal of Obama’s hostile policies towards Israel got the world’s attention. They made the likes of Iran and China realize he meant it when he said that he was adopting policies that would be good for America and bad for its foes. By standing with Israel, Trump also showed other spurned allies America could be trusted again.

Donald Trump was elected four years ago because Americans wanted to save their country. Both in domestic and foreign policy, in the eighth year of Barack Obama’s presidency, America was going off the rails. At home, Obama’s identity politics were tearing the country apart. As is now graphically apparent, identity politics are not about expanding justice. They are geared towards tearing Americans away from one another and undermining the very idea of America.

Abroad, America had become the laughingstock of its enemies and the worst nightmare of its friends, as Obama and his merry band of foreign policy “experts” abandoned and denigrated allies and reorganized America’s foreign policy around a commitment to appeasing and kowtowing to America’s worst foes, first and foremost, Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Stand up America! American Privilege is Colorblind!

by Linda Goudsmit

Get off your knees and stand up America! Americans stopped kneeling to tyranny in 1776.

Our country vehemently rejects submission and adamantly rejects white supremacy AND black supremacy. Racial pandering and prostrating is un-American. It is reverse discrimination and political exploitation of the black community by race-baiting Democrats. Law-abiding Americans, black and white, want equality and ordered liberty. Freedom and equality is a colorblind American privilege.

Rioting and anarchy never lead to peace – they are the precursors of tyranny. Costumed, kneeling Nancy Pelosi and her globalist handlers are deliberately fomenting racial divisiveness, social chaos, and anarchy in their bid to make America ungovernable and defeat President Trump in November. Chaos is the Democrat party political strategy and the preferred political strategy of tyrants. This is how it works.

Systemic racism and bigotry are the lifeblood of the Left

The Left kneels. They grovel. They bow down to others, as Obama bowed down to Arab Muslim oil sheiks. And they hate. Systemically.

By Rabbi Prof. Dov Fischer, INN

We now are half a century into America’s experiment with “Affirmative Action.” As with all Left initiatives, words are distorted to mean things they are not because the Left refuses to call the Truth by the truth.

When an Arab Muslim terrorist murders Americans at a military base, the Left calls it “workplace violence.” Obamacare is called the “Affordable Care Act” even though it gyrated health-care prices through the roof and forced many to lose their preferred doctors and health plans. Likewise with “Affirmative Action.” Instead of honestly calling it “Quotas,” they call it “Goals and Timetables.” But it is quotas. Here is why:

The U.S. government tells an entrepreneur that they will leave her alone if Albanians comprise at least 18 percent of her workforce. (Why Albanians? Why Not?). They add, of course, that she should know that America is fair (wink, wink), and she of course will not necessarily get into any trouble if Albanians comprise fewer than 18 percent of her workforce, but the government then might just need to come in and take a peek in her books to figure out why she had so much trouble finding enough qualified Albanians to hire.

Israel has not proposed to extend sovereignty to part of the settlements or to move forward in stages, a source involved in the matter said on Thursday.

The US-Israel mapping committee is still working on outlining all settlements and the Jordan Valley, making up 30% of the West Bank, which would be part of sovereign Israel according to US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.

The source denied media reports that Israel has moved to a phased annexation plan and proposed to only annex Ma’ale Adumim, Ariel and Gush Etzion in the short term.

The Bloodletting and Wilding Is Part of An Agenda To Tear Down The Country

T. Belman. Mr Jacobsen is a law professer at Cornell U.  He writes,

There’s an effort to get me fired at Cornell for criticizing the Black Lives Matter Movement

Similarily there is an effort to get Tucker Carson shut down for also telling the truth about BLM.

The fury vented on the streets is not about George Floyd, his death was the spark but the fire has been planned for two generations.

I haven’t had much time to reflect on the looting and riots that swept mostly (but not exclusively) large Democrat cities. It was a wilding on a scale we’ve never seen. It was a bloodletting and release of criminal fury.

We should be clear what is happening. It is not protest over the death of George Floyd. That is the spark, but not the fire.

This has been a long time coming. At least a generation, maybe two. The left methodically has taken control of key institutions to implement an anti-American, anti-Capitalist agenda.

Reminder: “Hands up, don’t shoot” is a fabricated narrative from the Michael Brown case

by William A. Jacobson, LEGAL INSURRECTION     June 4, 2020

It’s a lie that gave birth to the Black Lives Matter movement, and is chanted by protesters and politicians to this day.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/telekon/15698308208/

The Black Lives Matter movement was born of the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri. While the BLM founders started their organizing after the prior Trayvon Martin case, it was Brown and Ferguson which launched the BLM movement into the public spotlight through the protests and riots in Ferguson.

Nothing was more associated with the BLM movement than the chant “hands up, don’t shoot,” based on the narrative that Brown had his hands raised and said ‘don’t shoot’ when shot. That same chant drives protesters and rioters ripping up cities after the George Floyd killing.

I know the history of BLM and how it shot to national fame after the Brown shooting. I followed it closely and wrote about it at the time in 2014. I documented the violent instigators, many of them cross-over anti-Israel activists. See my October 25, 2014 post, Intifada Missouri – Anti-Israel activists may push Ferguson over the edge.

Research Report: #BlackLivesMatter more about radical social upheaval than “Black Lives”

The Club of Rome (CoR) is a think tank made up of world leaders, prominent scientists, celebrities, business leaders and other “luminaries” in various fields.  It is a think tank with national associations in 35 countries, that was founded by the Jew-hating Rockefellers with a group of “world citizens” to provide “suggestions” to U.N.  members and associates. The membership, which numbers several hundred (only about 6 Jews), espouses a “common concern for the future of humanity” and views Communist China as the most important and successful society in human history.  The public relations arm of the CoR comprises the Council on Foreign Relations and the Tri-Lateral Commission.

Some of the Club of Rome’s prominent members and associates include or have included:  Bill Gates, Deepak Chopra, Desmond Tutu, Marianne Williams, Kim Campbell, Mary Robinson, Pierre Trudeau, Robert Redford, Al Gore, Kofi Anna, Dalai Lama, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, George Soros, Jane Goodell, Vicente Fox, Henry Kissenger, Tony Blair, Mikhail Gorbachev, Ted Turner (donated $1 billion for the effort), Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, etc.

Why Syria isn’t firing its S-300 missiles at Israeli jets

The incredible behind-the-scenes story of how Iran’s Soleimani eliminated Hezbollah’s top commander – who dared to say no

By Yossi Melman, HAARETZ | May 15, 2020 | 8:52 AM

The hundreds of attacks against Iranian targets and Hezbollah in Syria carried out by the Israel Air Force, are generally considered by pundits to be its most important achievement in the “campaign between the wars.” That is the name of the 21st-century campaign being waged by the Israel Defense Forces and the intelligence community against increasingly powerful enemies, including Iran, Syria and, according to foreign publications, Iraq (in the past similar activity in Sudan was attributed to Israel), and terror organizations such as Hezbollah, Hamas and ISIS in Syria and, according to the same sources, in Sinai as well.

But no less impressive and important is the considerable experience acquired by the IAF’s pilots and its aerial control, aerial intelligence and electronic warfare systems, in defending and evading the anti-aircraft batteries of the Syrian army.
