The Club of Rome (CoR) is a think tank made up of world leaders, prominent scientists, celebrities, business leaders and other “luminaries” in various fields.  It is a think tank with national associations in 35 countries, that was founded by the Jew-hating Rockefellers with a group of “world citizens” to provide “suggestions” to U.N.  members and associates. The membership, which numbers several hundred (only about 6 Jews), espouses a “common concern for the future of humanity” and views Communist China as the most important and successful society in human history.  The public relations arm of the CoR comprises the Council on Foreign Relations and the Tri-Lateral Commission.

This (EXTEND SOVEREIGNTY) bill should argue that Israel 1) retain as much of Judea and Samaria as possible and practical and 2) absorb the smallest number of additional Arabs in order to maintain its strength and its Jewish and democratic character. There are several ways to implement these parameters, which include scenarios for citizenship status of the Arabs remaining in Judea and Samaria but outside of Israel’s new borders. At the very least, the amount of land Israel applies sovereignty to should be larger than the 30 percent envisioned in President Trump’s Peace to Prosperity plan, and closer to the Yamina party’s proposal, which calls for Israel to establish sovereignty over the at least 60 percent of Judea and Samaria known as “Area C.”

A Bold Sovereignty Play Would Unify the Israeli Right

Such a bold move would unify the right under Netanyahu’s unity government. The leaders of Judea and Samaria now appear to be perfectly split between support and opposition for the Peace to Prosperity plan. Seven leaders of Judea and Samaria, including Efrat Regional Council leader Oded Revivi and Ariel mayor Eli Shaviro, support the plan, while seven others oppose it, including most vocally Samaria Regional Council leader Yossi Dagan and Jordan Valley Regional Council leader David Elhayani.

An Israeli annexation of some part of the West Bank seemed all but inevitable just two weeks ago.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who made the annexation of most of the Jordan Valley and Israeli settlements throughout the West Bank his signature initiative in the run-up to the September 2019 election, has clung to the idea ever since, vowing to follow through with some as yet unclear version of his original annexation proposal in just three weeks, on July 1.

But challenges have mounted on all sides. Many settlement leaders now rail against the move because it comes as part of a broader Trump peace plan that includes the establishment of a Palestinian state, which they are opposed to. European leaders are warning of damage to ties — Germany’s foreign minister was in Israel Wednesday on an urgent visit to push back against the idea. The Democratic contender for the US presidency, Joe Biden, has warned against it. The Palestinian Authority is threatening to both disband and declare statehood. Jordan has warned it could rethink its peace treaty with Israel.

PHILADELPHIA — The Jews of the Fairfax neighborhood of Los Angeles were exposed to a modern, American-style pogrom on May 30 that should enrage us all. Not only were Jewish businesses sacked but five synagogues and three Jewish schools were reportedly vandalized in George Floyd’s name by thugs.

Writer Daniel Greenfield wrote on his blog, “One small business owner described a ‘late Saturday night with people driving down the Fairfax district streets screaming effing Jews’”.

Before reading Greenfield’s opinion piece, I referenced the rampage by protesters in a commentary last week, but I was not aware of the scale of the carnage via initial media reports. Greenfield and Laurie Cardoza-Moore alerted me to the level of the damage late last week. Originally, I caught news reports of two vandalized shuls, and Greenfield’s article reported that vandals struck five synagogues and three Jewish schools.

Then he spoke of annexing all the settlements. Then he moved to 30% of the West Bank under US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.

Now suddenly, with the spotlight on Alternate Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, and half the settler leadership on the warpath against Trump’s “Deal of the Century,” talk has surfaced about a possible return to a partial annexation plan among policy strategists and the media.

The government has not yet decided whether to extend Israel’s laws to parts of the West Bank, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said in a press conference with his German counterpart Heiko Mass on Wednesday.

Ashkenazi repeatedly cited the lack of a decision in response to questions about the details of how Israel would implement US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.

According to the coalition agreement between Ashkenazi’s Blue and White party and Likud, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu can bring annexation to a vote on July 1, in three weeks, at the earliest.

Shalom Yerushalmi reported this morning that Israeli diplomatic sources say Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided not to apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley in order to avoid a crisis with Jordan.

If indeed Mr. Netanyahu has adopted this argument, his legacy may be establishing that there can never be conditions on the ground for applying Israeli law to the Jordan Valley:

#1. Good relations:  do not apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley to avoid a crisis with a friendly country.

T.  Belman. This is the first time I have heard mention of “Netanyhu’s Sovereignty Plan”.  At the same time no mention in this article of the Trump Plan. Could it be that what is behind that is the desire to decouple the 30% “annexation” from the Trump Plan.  Then no settler will be against it.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will likely work to implement his sovereignty plan during the summer months, spanning July, August, and September, according to a report by Israel Hayom.

According to the Israel Hayom report published Wednesday morning which cited unnamed Israeli officials, the Israeli government will not likely continue implementation of Netanyahu’s sovereignty plan after the summer, with the goal of applying Israeli law over roughly 30% of Judea and Samaria by sometime in September.

T. Belman. What a comedown. Just three settlements and no mention of E-1 associated with Maaleh Adumin. It would appear that such a move is not seen as endorsing the Trump Plan.  And why not apply Israel law to all the settlements without reference to the Trump Plan? Why is everyone so timid now? Why do we care what Jordan has to say?  Jordan will never cancel the Peace Treaty with Israel. In fact the US has told the King in no uncertain terms not to terminate the agreement or else.

Why is Jordan brought to the table? They reliquished all their claims to this land. What is going on here?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will initially announce the annexation of three West Bank blocs, but not the Jordan Valley or other settlement areas, top Israeli officials have said.

Netanyahu had vowed to stick to a July 1 date for declaring annexation over all of Israel’s West Bank settlements and the Jordan Valley, but has recently seemed to temper expectations and indicate that only some areas would be annexed starting on that date. US and Israeli officials have indicated that much legwork remains to be done in preparing for annexation, including by the military and the joint mapping committee tasked with delineating the contours of the annexation move.

According to the Israeli officials, Netanyahu will delay most annexation and only focus on the blocs of Ma’ale Adumim, Ariel and Gush Etzion, home to large settler populations.

Black Lives matter (BLM) has taken over center stage in this unfolding horror story of the killing of George Floyd. It now has to be considered the nation’s most prominent and powerful organized black group.

And that’s bad luck for us Jews, liberal and conservative, both religious-wise and political-wise. Sadly, most Jewish organizations, those fueled by Jewish donors, stubbornly, willfully ignore the hate from those blacks. They have jumped on the “systemic racism”and “intersectionality” bubkis-bandwagon and are playing “follow the leader”, with BLM calling out the marching cadence.

I cannot emphasize enough the dangers we face in our own community from the new crop of black militants led by BLM. We know the old ones well. Their charter and platform states that Israel is responsible for, “the genocide taking place against the Palestinian people. Israel is an apartheid state..that sanctions discrimination and practices genocide against the Palestinian people.”

A top official in US President Donald Trump’s administration said Monday that the US will not hold back Israel’s plan to announce sovereignty in the Jordan Valley and settlements in Judea and Samaria, as it was a decision to be made “[only] by Israeli leaders.”

Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Elan Carr made the comment at a conference for Diaspora Jewry hosted by the weekly Makor Rishon newspaper.

“One thing may delay applying sovereignty, and that is a decision by Israel’s leaders,” Carr told Makor Rishon.

“We made it clear, [that] when to annex, how to do it, and how much, is a decision of the prime minister and his partner [Defense Minister] Benny Gantz. They need to make a decision, we said we’re willing to recognize the State of Israel’s sovereignty in those territories,” he added.

Defense Minister and prime minister-designate Benny Gantz might soon be paying a special visit to Jordan, the Jordanian newspaper Al-Rai reported this week, quoting western diplomats in Amman.

According to the report, the diplomatic sources leaked that Gantz’s first action in the new government could be a visit to King Abdullah II. The goal of the visit would reportedly be to ease the king’s concerns about the planned declaration of sovereignty Israel plans to make on July 1, with US backing.

The report said that Gantz thinks he can improve the tense relations between Abdullah and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It also said that Jordan had limited options with which to counter an Israeli declaration of sovereignty, which is why Amman has resorted to threatening to revoke its peace treaty with Israel if Jerusalem proceeds with the unilateral move.

The report also said that Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has described the move to apply Israeli law in the Jordan Valley and the settlements in Judea and Samaria as a “true disaster” that could cause the peace treaty between Israel and Jordan to collapse.

T. Belman. The author writes “Applying it to all settlements indeed endangers not only Israel, but also Jordan. In the Valley the situation is fundamentally different.” In this, he is wrong.  Support for compensated emigration has never been stronger. The fall of the King to Palestinians could be just around the corner.

Whoever thinks that Palestinians will suffice with a quiet life in a small and backward state between Jenin and Jericho are either complete ignoramuses or pathologically addicted to self-deception.

When discussing the application of sovereignty, we should examine the range of considerations regarding the Israel-Jordan-Palestinian triangle, and remember that the Palestinian national movement is the most dangerous enemy of the Hashemite regime.

The Palestinians are eyeing not only Jaffa and Haifa, but also Amman. If an independent Palestinian state is indeed founded in the West Bank, it will first channel its subversion efforts towards Jordan, whose majority of residents are Palestinian. If and when it succeeds in overthrowing the Hashemite regime and linking up to radical Arab and Iranian elements in the region, it will be easier for the Palestinians to fight Israel more effectively.

Whoever thinks that Palestinians will suffice with a quiet life in a small and backward state between Jenin and Jericho are either complete ignoramuses or pathologically addicted to self-deception. They are ignorant of one hundred years of Palestinian political culture.
