Staring Into the Abyss of US-China Decoupling

By Dr. James M. Dorsey, BESA June 5, 2020C

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Israel resides at the cusp of the widening US-Chinese divide, as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s recent visit to Israel attests. Pompeo’s visit was for the express purpose of reminding Jerusalem that its dealings with Beijing jeopardize its relationship with Washington.

Israel knew the drill even before US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo boarded his flight to Tel Aviv in mid-May, four days after the death of his father. It was Pompeo’s first and only overseas trip since March.Echoing a US warning two decades ago that Israeli dealings with China jeopardized the country’s relationship with the US, Pompeo’s trip solidified Israel’s position at the cusp of the widening US-Chinese divide.

Two decades ago the issue was the potential sale to China of Israeli Phalcon airborne warning and control systems (AWACS). Israel backed out of the deal after the US threatened to withdraw American support for the Jewish state.

Guardian Angels Founder Curtis Sliwa Attacked, Jaw Fractured in NYC Clash with George Floyd Looters

By Hana Levi Julian, JEWISH EXPRESS

Curtis Sliwa and the Guardian Angels patrol in Brooklyn. Dec. 29, 2019

The 66-year-old founder of the Guardian Angels organization, Curtis Sliwa and a newly-joined member of the group were both attacked and injured this week while “on the job” protecting stores from George Floyd rioters and looters after the start of the 8 pm curfew.

?@chayesmatthew

One of the Guardian Angels guarding the @footlocker was struck in the face by a looter wielding a hammer.

Sliwa is a longtime law and order advocate whose top goal is to defend the community while maintaining order together with the members of his Guardian Angels team. They’re easy to spot with their red berets and jackets and although they all look like bikers, none of them are armed. They’ve patrolled the worst neighborhoods of the city and helped those in need since 1979, today in more than 130 cities across the United States and in places around the world as well.

Israel can extend its law over 30% of J&S or all of it and all Palestinians living there will be Palestinian citizens. Thus it won’t be an apartheid state.

By T. Belman

TOI has an article that “Annexation will mean apartheid, warns Mandela ally who always fought comparison”

But if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu goes ahead with his plan to unilaterally annex large parts of the West Bank, apparently without offering Israeli citizenship to the Palestinians who live in these areas, Israel will indeed turn into an apartheid state, Pogrund warned.

Not so because either these Arabs will have palestinian citizenship from the Palestinian statelet envisgaged by the Trump Plan OR they will have Jordanian citizenship as envisioned by the Jordan Option. Thus they will be considered as foreign residents in Israel. Only if they had no citizenship would Israel be considered an apartheid state.

At least nine people were killed in alleged Israeli airstrikes targeted Syrian defense factories near the city of Masyaf in northwest Syria on Thursday night, according to Syrian reports.

Four of the dead were Syrian nationals, but it is unclear if they were Syrian soldiers or working for the Iranian forces, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). The death toll is expected to rise due to the presence and condition of people wounded in the attacks, as well as reports of additional deaths.

Air defense systems were activated in Masyaf, west of Hama and loud explosions were heard in the region during the airstrikes. The official Syrian news agency SANA reported that a number of the incoming missiles were dropped.

Fox News at Night with Shannon Bream 6/4/20

David Nussbaum. This show has a number of excellent segments but IMHO the best occurs with a response to Mattis’ deplorable column in The Atlantic yesterday where Mattis, inter alia, called on members of the military to disobey illegal orders from the President. There is an absolutely brilliant rational and factual deconstruction of Mattis’ points by an individual who I did not know before. It lasts for about 4 minutes. It is located to the left of the middle of the program. If you move the red dot to the –47.5 point, you can watch this Mattis feature.  For some reason, the direction of the location is reversed so that the absolute value of the number reduces as you move the cursor to the right. Well worth it.

While Anarchists Fail, Americans Prevail

By Joan Swirsky, CFP

On Christmas Eve in 2009, 60 Senate Democrats voted for Obamacare, which was finally voted on again by the House, passed and enacted into law on March 23, 2010. It was only two months into Barack Obama’s first term when they magically produced the exhaustively detailed, 2,300-page bill. But it turns out it wasn’t magic.

The leftists in Congress (Democrats all) had been working on their long-yearned-for Socialized Medicine for decades, just as they’ve worked––even harder––for the past four years to topple candidate and then President Donald J. Trump, who has so far succeeded in overturning, reforming, even eviscerating just about everything liberals/leftists/regressives have fought for, given money to, taught their children, and voted for over the past 60 years.

What we’ve learned from their treachery is that Democrats always have backup plans, contingency strategies waiting in the wings, almost as if they are counting on failure.

WAYNE ROOT: Mr. President, It’s Time to Investigate George Soros for Funding Domestic Terrorism

COMPARE WHAT I WROTE YESTERDAY WITH WHAT ROOT IS SAYING TODAY.

T. Belman. Antifa is not a grassroots movement. It is no different from the Nazi Brownshirts or Mussolini’s Blackshirts or Obama’s/Soros’ Occupy Wall Steet and ACORN. The focus should be on the people or political forces that instigate them or finance them or support them. The Left and not just the extreme left are complicit. The Democratic Party and the mainstream media supports these anarchist movements and shields them. You could see this in Charlottesville when Antifa came to our attention.

Mr. President, you’ve taken step one: Declaring Antifa a domestic terrorist organization. That was a brilliant move. Now it’s time for step number two: Cut the head off the snake. We’ve got to move to aggressively cut off the funding of domestic terrorism.

Those who provide funding are terrorists themselves. Who is providing the funding? There are many suspects. Suspect number one is globalist billionaire George Soros and his Open Society Foundation. It starts there.

Is Soros guilty? That’s way above my pay grade. That’s why we need a global investigation. And indictments and a trial.

There’s still time to fix the maps

It’s no surprise tempers are running short, but we can save this historic opportunity without making major changes to what the Trump administration has proposed.

By Moshe Koppel, ISRAEL HAYOM

Israel now has a historic opportunity to apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley and settlements in Judea and Samaria. There are two purposes in applying Israeli law there: 1) to regulate and normalize life through unified, modern laws and to allow for long-term planning and 2) to make it clear that Israel is here for eternity.

According to the Trump plan, the application of Israeli law to some of the territory entails a construction freeze and the start of a process that could theoretically end with a Palestinian state. The plan is very good for Israel, but two steps must be taken to ensure that the blessing doesn’t turn into a curse.

The first step is for Israel and the US to sign a memorandum of understanding in which the US will promise to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state until the Palestinians fulfill all eight of the conditions of the Trump plan, which they will most likely never do. It is important to remember that Trump won’t always be president. Agreement on a map brings us closer to a Palestinian state without the conditions being fulfilled if a less friendly president moves into the White House. A signed memorandum might not bind the hands of another president, but American tradition would make it very hard for that president to ignore it. The memorandum must also include a US commitment to respond appropriately in the case of irreversible Palestinian violations of the plan, either on the ground or in the International Criminal Court.

Chabad prepares to take action against US peace plan

T. Belman. Yesha Council Chairman and Jordan Valley Council head David Elhayani today told Kan he had heard from a senior Likud official that the Americans have set a new condition for their consent to Israeli sovereignty in parts of Judea and Samaria: A “broad national consensus.” “They mean Gantz and Gabi Ashkenazi,” Elhayani clarified.

Members of Chabad Rabbinical High Court visit Hevron, where community leaders show them detailed maps of the US plan and note its dangers.

By Hezki Baruch, INN

Members of the Chabad Rabbinical High Court visited the city of Hevron last night and met with the heads of the local Jewish community, who presented them with the map of the “Deal of the Century” plan and noted the dangers lurking therein.

Following the tour, a joint plan of action was prepared, the goal of which is massive pressure against the plan in two arenas: the US and Israel.

Heads of the Jewish community in Hevron said, “Those who remember the struggles during the Oslo Accords, the establishment of left-wing governments and the Disengagement plan know that Chabad has been at the head of the fight, sometimes behind the scenes and sometimes on the front.”

James Mattis accuses Trump of abusing his powers in an op-ed

By Ebony Bowden, NY POST

WASHINGTON — Former Defense Secretary James Mattis unloaded on President Trump in an opinion piece, accusing him of abusing the powers of his office and of trying to divide the American people as the nation reels from the death of George Floyd.

“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people — does not even pretend to try,” Mattis wrote in the op-ed published by The Atlantic on Wednesday.

“Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership,” he continued.

The Progressive Strategy Behind the Demonstrations

T. Belman.  I agree with the first sentance but strongly reject the second sentance. No distinction between them. Just like trying to distingish between Hezbollah’s political wing and military wings. In both cases, there is no distinction. Both parts serve the same cause with different tactics.

By BRUCE ABRAMSON, EPOCH TIMES

The demonstrations that have broken out around the country are part of a strategic plan to transform the United States into a progressive utopia. The riots into which they quickly devolved are not. It’s important to understand the difference between them.

The strategy itself is hardly a secret. It appears, for example, in Paul Engler’s “Resistance Guide,” published shortly after Donald Trump became president.

Engler is the rare and dangerous combination of a theorist and an activist. In 2014, he launched a “movement incubator” called Momentum. Within five years, he’d incubated groups promoting climate change, pushing for open borders, and spreading anti-Israel activism. As a theorist, Engler has brought forward the work of two significant predecessors: Saul Alinsky and Gene Sharp.

Palestinians, Jordan bluffing on Israeli sovereignty, former US officials say

With Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pushing ahead with plans to apply sovereignty to the Jordan Valley and parts of Judea and Samaria, there are concerns being raised that it could ignite tensions with the Palestinians and neighboring Jordanians. Both outcomes are extremely unlikely, however, according to former senior US officials with vast experience in the Middle East.

“Both the Palestinians and Jordanians are showing weakness and instead of threatening Israel with something it cares about, they are busy taking themselves hostage,” said David Wurmser, who served as a senior adviser on the Middle East to former Vice President Dick Cheney and is currently an executive at the Dephi Global Analysis Group, which he founded.
