The film brought back memories of my grandfather, Abraham Levy, and the price he paid for confronting America’s Nazi movement before the United States government was prepared to act.

Peloni: The failure to see the gates of Gaza opened, even as the US is taking on the new controlling authority there as Trump personally heads the Board of Peace, portrays a serious implication for the future.  Regardless of whether the number of people wanting to leave Gaza is 80% or merely 8%, it remains intolerable that the US would not facilitate the movement of these people outside of a city sized war zone.   As the world’s super power stand as the gatekeeper on not only holding the Gazans in place but also seeing that Hamas stands ever more entrenched over them, one might honestly ask exactly what excuse might support doing so which does not place the US in a very bad light.  As the sentiments out of Washington are routinely echoing false narratives on behalf of suffering Gazans, why might Washington prefer to hold the Gazans in this Gaza sized cage with a Hamas sized taskmaster, even as there are nations which would accept.

Peloni:  Since his return to the White House in his second term in office, Pres. Trump has taken many hard positions relative to Israel in apparent deference to his Arab partners, positions which are hard to explain or ignore, some of which Al Bienenfeld shares below.  This being stated, Trump’s policies on whole have benefited Israel in various and significant ways, not the least of which was the support for Israel having targeted the Iranian regime with extreme prejudice.  This fact hasn’t been changed by Trump’s subsequent actions which included the reported scuttling of the potential coup de grâce in the form of a Kurdish ground assault, nor by the quizzical attempt to charm the charmless IRGC into accepting the hopefully now defunct MOU.  Also, in recent months, the tensions between Trump and Netanyahu have been evident, but still limited, revealing what is difficult to ignore reality that Trump wants Bibi to agree to something which is either beyond his ability or his conscience to agree.

On Monday, the President of the United States told the people of Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, Arizona, and every other state now fighting hyperscale data centers exactly what he thinks of them. “The only reason that communities throughout the U.S.A. should not want Data Centers is if they want to end up being backward and poor,” he wrote on Truth Social. “If they want to be successful and rich, with far lower taxes and jobs all over the place, let Data Reign.” And then the warning: “If we kill the Golden Goose, you will only have yourselves to blame.”

Peloni: SIGNAL’s Carice Witte offers an interesting look at China’s attempts to deal with the dichotomy which exists between Beijing’s dependency which comes from being the dominant trading partner in the Middle East without the means by which to either control its erstwhile partners or the ability to dominate the region militarily.  It appears that instead of looking to its old partners in the region, China is instead attempting to engage a new strategy thru interactions with Egypt and Jordan.

Several years ago, I was flying through the Munich airport making a connection on the way home to Israel. For some reason I was selected for additional and what felt like particularly obnoxious screening inside the airport. Admittedly, until that point, passing through the Munich airport was the closest I had ever been to “visiting” Germany, a place that I never really wanted to go, and where I was uncomfortable being at all.
