As the totalitarian left advances ever more successfully toward amending or abolishing freedom of speech, it is crucial to keep in mind that hand-in-hand with curtailing the speech of those who hold “incorrect” opinions comes the enforcement of Islamic blasphemy laws, the ulterior motive of which is to shield Islam from any criticism whatsoever.

This has been the longstanding goal of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the world’s largest Muslim collective, which has worked closely with leftist allies such as Hillary Clinton to promote and implement such censorship. This already has been largely embraced among the multiculturalist elites in Europe; think, for example, of today’s England, where jihadist stabbings are rampant but complaining about them in a tweet will earn you a visit and stern lecture from the police, if not actual arrest.

Indeed, the trans phenomenon is perhaps the most interesting of the erotic variables that define the current wave of insanity, of which the transition from male to female, whether surgical, hormonal or cosmetic, appears to be the paramount factor in the venereal mix. Bathrooms in many establishments are no longer gender-specific. Women’s sporting events are increasingly dominated by biological males identifying as women. Corporations have climbed aboard the intersex, gender non-conforming and transgender bandwagon.

In France, which is experiencing another surge of anti-Jewish attacks, the lower house of parliament has approved a draft resolution that calls hatred of Israel a form of anti-Semitism.

In Britain, after the Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis made an unprecedented intervention into the general election campaign warning that “a new poison” of antisemitism “sanctioned from the top” had “taken root in the Labour Party,” support for Labour actually increased. In four out of five opinion polls taken over the following few days, the party’s rating rose by between two and five points.

Last week, two people were murdered and three others wounded in an Islamic terrorist attack in London. And over the past two weeks, there were four attacks on Jews in the streets of London.

As Hudson Senior Fellow Peter Rough points out, growing tensions have emerged between NATO’s globe-trotting conferees and the citizens of its member nations, who have increasingly turned towards nationalism in the face of domestic hardship and global threats. If this ideological division remains unaddressed, NATO risks collapsing from within as the citizens of its member nations lose trust in the alliance.

We are indebted to Alex Jones and Ezra Levant for leading the charge to protect us. This is a very scary segment that must be watched.

At 22:40 Jones tells that he was approached three years ago by a NYT operative who warned him to stop attacking Islam, to stop protecting the Second Amendment (the right to bear arms) and to stop attacking transgenderism or he would be destroyed.  Then they added that he should stop defending Pres Trump.

So Nancy Pelosi has apparently decided to go all-in with her call for an impeachment vote.  The standard wisdom on Pelosi is that she is not of the radical left, but she’s cunning, a master tea leaf reader and Swamp survivor, and so she doesn’t make rash moves.

She’s evidently decided this is the right move at the right time.  We’ll soon see.

There’s something about the timing of Pelosi’s announcement relative to next Monday’s release of IG Horowitz’s report that makes it seem very possible she’s going for a grand bargain with President Trump.

Palestinian officials expressed “great concern” Thursday over a report by the International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor that includes a warning that Palestinian stipends to attackers and their families could constitute a war crime.

Ramallah’s “pay-for-slay” policy has long been condemned by Israel and the US as a practice that encourages violence. The Palestinians argue these payments are a national duty to families affected by decades of violence.

The Palestinian Authority routinely spends hundreds of millions of dollars on payments to terrorists imprisoned in Israel and to the families of terrorists killed while carrying out attacks against Israel.

LISBON, Portugal — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the possible annexation of the Jordan Valley and other parts of the West Bank with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during their talks here, he said Thursday, adding Israel had the “full right” to do so. Netanyahu stressed, however, that such a move was impossible during a transitional period in which there is no government.

“We discussed the issue of annexation, but we’re not talking about timetables yet. These things are much easier when you have a government,” he told reporters at his Lisbon hotel after he met with Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa.

“That’s why it’s so important to have formed a government,” he added, attacking both Blue and White leader Benny Gantz and Yisrael Beytenu party leader Avigdor Liberman for sticking to their guns in talks for a unity government with his Likud party.

Charge comes as Pentagon said mulling sending up to 7,000 troops to region; Washington calls Iranian demonstrations ‘worst political crisis’ ever faced by regime

AFP — The US said Thursday that Iranian security forces may have killed over 1,000 people in a recent crackdown on demonstrations, which Washington cast as the regime’s worst-ever internal challenge.

The damning account came as the US put new pressure in the region on the Islamic Republic, with an official saying the Pentagon was considering sending 5,000 to 7,000 more troops.

“It appears the regime could have murdered over 1,000 Iranian citizens since the protests began,” said Brian Hook, the US Special Representative on Iran.

He acknowledged that information was difficult to verify in Iran, which has severely curtailed internet access, but said: “We know for certain it is many, many hundreds.”

Crowds backing a paramilitary force close to Iran streamed into the Iraqi capital’s main protest camp on Thursday, rattling anti-government demonstrators who have denounced Tehran’s role in their country.

The flash protest hinted at a new effort to delegitimize or intimidate anti-government protesters, and came after the apparent torture and death of a 19-year-old woman taking part in the rallies.

Youth-dominated mass rallies have rocked Iraq’s capital and Shiite-majority south since October, slamming the entrenched political class as corrupt, incompetent and under the sway of neighboring Iran.

“It is critical to recall that historically, there is a difference between terrorists and freedom fighters,” he added.  “It is clear to us that the Kurds’ goal is to establish an independent state and to obtain international recognition.  Therefore, they should be considered to be freedom fighters and not terrorists.”

Defense Min. Bennett: Funding illegal construction in Judea and Samaria a ‘waste of money.’

Defense Minister Naftali Bennett (New Right) met this week with European Union’s (EU) ambassador in Israel, telling him that Israel’s defense organizations are no longer willing to make peace with the uncontrolled illegal construction in Area C encouraged and funded by Europe.

According to a Makor Rishon report, Bennett said that the defense system intends to destroy all illegal construction in areas under complete Israeli control, including that which Europeans funded.

Attending the meeting were representatives from Germany, France, Italy, Holland, and Denmark.

In a security briefing, Bennett spoke with the representatives about the actions Israel took to prevent Iran from entrenching itself in Syria, the situation with Gaza, and the illegal construction in Area C of Judea and Samaria, which he described as “a waste of money.”

WASHINGTON (JTA) — It’s the perennial anomaly of Jewish voter surveys: Vast majorities feel an attachment to Israel, but relatively few are thinking about the Jewish state when they cast their vote.

On the day of last year’s midterm congressional elections, J Street, the liberal Jewish Middle East policy group, asked Jewish voters to name their two most important issues. Just 4 percent chose Israel. The same survey found that 65 percent said they were somewhat or very emotionally attached to Israel.

The J Street survey is not an outlier. The American Jewish Committee, a foreign policy and civil rights group, found a similar discrepancy in its 2015 poll, in which barely a quarter of respondents listed Israel as one of their top three issues, though more than 70 percent agreed strongly or somewhat that caring about Israel is “a very important part” of being Jewish.

My home town of Fresno, California has a tiny Jewish community. The metropolitan area of about a million people, in almost the geographical center of the state, has only about 1000 Jewish families. There are three congregations: a Reform temple with several hundred members, a much smaller Conservative shul, and a Chabad house.

I haven’t been to the US since moving back to Israel more than five years ago. But I keep in touch. So recently I noticed an announcement on the Facebook page of the Reform congregation for a talk by a Rabbi John Rosove on the subject “The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, an American Zionist Perspective.” I thought that was interesting, since I, too, am a Zionist and (you can tell by my accent) will always be an American.

Five years after launching a preliminary review, International Criminal Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said Thursday that she is concerned about potential Israeli moves to annex the Jordan Valley.

Bensouda made the comment in a key section of her annual report reviewing a range of conflict areas around the world which she is probing.

Her final decision could have a massive impact on Israel legally, diplomatically and in terms of the country’s image.
