Israel loves its army

By Victor Rosenthal

When the body of Sgt. Zachary Baumel, missing for 37 years since the battle of Sultan Yacoub in the First Lebanon War, was returned to Israel, I first heard it on the hourly radio newscast.

Almost the entire newscast was devoted to this one story. The next day it was in the headlines of all the papers. Every Israeli politician, newspaper columnist, or TV/radio personality had something to say about it. When he was buried Thursday night at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, thousands of people attended his funeral. The President and Prime Minister, among others, delivered eulogies there. Army commanders, from the Chief of Staff on down, were present.

One soldier, or to be precise, the body of one soldier. 37 years. Yet, the reaction was national in scope.

From Golan to Brexit: Compromize is a fig-leaf for surrender.

By MELANIE PHILLIPS

Two current sources of uproar tie Britain, the United States and Israel into a matrix of hypocrisy, double standards and spinelessness.

The first was the welcome announcement by President Donald Trump that the United States will recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, the strategically crucial mountain range that Israel seized from Syria in 1967.

Cue horror in the foreign ministries and policy circles of the world where Israel’s annexation was denounced as a violation of international law.

The Knesset should cancel agreement allowing EU sponsored projects in Area C and Eastern Jerusalem

Are good relations with the EU worth it if the price to pay is surrendering strategic land that is key for Israel’s survival?

By Ezequiel Doiny, CONSERVATIVE PAPERS/strong>

On December 28, 2017 Israel National News reported “A number of government ministers were surprised to discover this week that, without notice, under their noses, an agreement was signed with the European Union that could have very significant implications for the State of Israel vis-a-vis the PA, B’Sheva revealed this morning, Thursday.

This is an agreement called the “Transboundary Cooperation Program in the Mediterranean Basin” and is aimed at financing projects costing tens of millions of euros for 14 non-EU countries in the Middle East, including Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which is also defined as a political entity.

Mark Levin urges Israelis to vote for Netanyahu

Here’s the transcript.

“…We had Barack Obama use the State Department and American tax dollars to try and defeat Benjamin Netanyahu last time around. We have the New York Times that has a daily drumbeat of anti-Israel, anti-Netanyahu stories by cretins, malcontents, miscreants, and that sort of crowd. We let me use my microphone to do the following: I don’t know the extend to this program reaches into the State of Israel but we are heard on podcasts throughout the world and including in Israel. And I just want to encourage the Israelis as strongly as I know how to vote for Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud Party. Benjamin Netanyahu has not only been a great leader for Israel but during the time when Obama was President he was the most important leader of the free world. He is a tremendous ally of this country, and he’s hated by the Left because he’s a strong leader. He’s hated by the Left because he’s made Israel a strong, economic country. He’s moved it towards the free market and away from socialism. He’s hated by the Left because the Israelis know how to defend themselves, and they’ve built up a military second to none in the Middle East.

Senator calls for mutual defense agreement with Israel

Sen. Lindsey Graham says US should tell the world that “an attack against Israel would be considered an attack against the United States”.

By Ben Ariel, INN

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Saturday called on the United States to enter into a mutual defense agreement with Israel to tell the world that “an attack against Israel would be considered an attack against the United States”, The Associated Press reports.

Graham made the comments at the annual meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas.

He added that it is time for the US to declare to the world how important its relationship is with Israel.

At the boiling point

Stuart Kaufman, CHARLESTON MERCURY

I am sick to my stomach, at the boiling point with anger. The swamp gases of Jew hatred are seeping through the surface of civilization so rapidly that I cannot see how they can be contained, especially given the tepid response of so many, including my Jewish brothers and sisters. Jew hatred is a disease that corrodes the soul. It erupts periodically into epidemic proportions and we appear to be at the inception of just such an eruption. It unfortunately is to be expected in Europe, where it has festered for centuries, but it has now broken into a fever here in the United States and it is spreading like wildfire.

The Congress is infested with Jew haters. They didn’t spring full blown from nowhere — they were elected! The recent unmitigated manifestation of pure Jew hatred by Rep. Ihlan Omar (D-MN) is merely the tip of the iceberg. Rep Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) calls herself a “second generation Palestinian” and carries with her all of the Jew hatred that is imbibed with mother’s milk by those who claim to be Palestinian (a “nation” that doesn’t exist, never existed and was invented out of whole cloth in the 1960s by an arch terrorist and murderer).

Jordan’s Crucible: How the kingdom comes through crises relatively unscathed

After weathering the storm of the last years of crises in the region, Jordan sees record tourism revenues while it navigates the ongoing need to host Syrian refugees.

AMMAN – The streets in Amman’s Jebel al-Weibdeh are crowded in the early evening with sounds of young people looking for a place to relax. Coffee shops intermix with art studios selling crafts for tourists. At the Maestro bar and restaurant, a band is getting ready for a live performance. The lights are dimmed and someone has put “no smoking” signs on the tables – they are out of place with the ash trays. Apparently, Monday has jam sessions and anyone can bring their instrument to join in. But it’s Wednesday.

The oasis that is this small neighborhood in the center of Amman is in contrast to much of the rest of the city. Amman has a population of over four million, and the city never seems to stop when you try to drive out of it. Every hill is clustered with walls of three- and four-story houses. There are few exceptions to that rule of building, and most of the urban sprawl looks the same. Almost half of the Kingdom of Jordan’s population lives here.

Are Democrats Pushing Sharia Law?

By Lloyd Marcus

A fan thought I exaggerated when I wrote that Sharia law will spread like wildfire across America if Democrats win the White House. She feared my over-the-top statement about the spread of Islam will damage my credibility.

My statement is not an exaggeration. For crying out loud, the federal government illegally funded a national curriculum titled “Access Islam.” This indoctrination program outrageously teaches students how to become Muslim — how to pray as a Muslim, how to perform Islamic “daily worship,” and how to perform the “core duties” of being a Muslim.

A California school banned all Christian-based books from its library, including books by Christian authors. Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Hermsmeyer says they do not allow “sectarian materials” on their state-authorized lending shelves. Public schools are celebrating Islam while banning Christmas.

The Sin of the Church

By Ray Delorenzo, CFP

Anyone with eyes and ears knows our society is in decay. Our political institutions, our government, both have become a cesspool of liars and perverts. Our education system is now a tool of political ambition and social transformation, teaching only what furthers the Left’s narrative. The media, what used to be the guardian of our Republic, is now a mechanism for accelerating the social and political rot, having no compunction of lying to your face.

Many of our large cities are pits of corruption and lawlessness. State and local governments blatantly ignore laws. Illegal alien criminals are let loose or slapped on the wrist. Victims and their families find no justice; they leave the court houses disillusioned and embittered.

The Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease

by Linda Goudsmit , PUNDICITY

“The squeaky wheel gets the grease” is an American proverb that means that whoever screams the loudest gets the attention.

The Council on Islamic-American Relations (CAIR) is a very squeaky wheel.

CAIR is the propaganda arm of the Muslim Brotherhood whose unapologetic stated objective in North America is settlement – NOT assimilation. The tactical strategy for the Muslim Brotherhood in America is documented with precision in their 1991 Explanatory Memorandum which was recovered in an FBI search of the Virginia home of Ismail Elbarrasse. The Memorandum was found among 80 banker-boxes worth of documents discovered hidden in Elbarrasse’s sub-basement.

From former Trump lawyer, candid talk about Meuller, Manaford, Sessions, Rosenstein, Collusion, Tweets, Privilege and the press

By Byron York, Washington Examiner April 3, 2019

What was President Trump up to when he publicly attacked the work of Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller? What was going on behind the scenes between the White House and Mueller’s office? Was there cooperation? A fight over privilege? And just how mad was Trump at Attorney General Jeff Sessions and deputy Rod Rosenstein when the special counsel was appointed?

Veteran attorney John Dowd was President Trump’s lawyer for a critical period of the Trump-Russia investigation, from June 2017 until March 2018. In a new podcast, Dowd offered an unusually frank inside look at what was going on between the president and the prosecutor. (The new podcast follows another, equally revealing, session with Dowd last week.) Taken together, Dowd’s insights show a relationship between Trump and the special counsel that was quite different from what appeared in many media accounts. A look at some of what Dowd had to say:

Trump’s attacks on Mueller

THE BATTLE FOR EUROPE

JPOST MAGAZINE

0504 mag 01

Unlike in the United States and in Israel, where the choice for liberal democracy was organic and rooted in the founding ideology, modern Europe’s arrival at democracy was reactionary. The French Revolution and subsequent Napoleonic wars attempted to spread the revolution’s values to the rest of Europe. Yet upon France’s defeat, old monarchies were restored in most of the continent. Even in France itself, there were fierce debates throughout the 19th century about the proper form of government and monarchy was restored on a number of occasions. The debate ended artificially and without resolution with the unexpected outbreak of World War I.

Don’t apologize

By Victor Rosenthal

Often I read “pro-Israel” articles, usually by American Jews, which include a statement like this: “Of course I disagree with many of Israel’s policies, but…” Or, “Of course, Israel treats the Palestinians badly, but…” Or, “Of course the occupation is immoral, but…”

I appreciate the “but,” and usually the article goes on to explain that the state really does have a right to exist, that Israel really isn’t guilty of genocide, or that people should be nicer to Jewish college students, who aren’t responsible for Israel’s policies.

But the apologetic prelude, an attempt to establish bona fides among an audience already marinated in anti-Israel propaganda, is cowardly and wrong.

Israel is doing the best she can, and much better than most Western democracies in the moral behavior department (I won’t even dream of comparing her to the various murderous dictatorships in the region).

The Golan Heights mean more than security for Israel

Not just for Israeli security, but for Biblical and Ancestral Jewish Sovereignty, the Golan Heights must be recognized as Israeli territory by the US.

By Victor Sharpe, INN

On Sunday, January 5th, 2019, Israeli Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, requested visiting U.S. National Security Advisor, John Bolton, to seek Washington’s long delayed recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights. In doing so Netanyahu stressed the vital security importance of the Heights. He told Bolton that, “When you are there, you’ll be able to understand perfectly why we will never leave the Golan Heights and why it is important that all countries recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.”

Indeed, those of us who have stood on the Golan’s 1,700 foot steep escarpment, are struck by its immense strategic value overlooking Israel’s fertile Hula Valley and the beautiful harp shaped lake below, called in Hebrew, Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee) because of its unique shape.

Syria had occupied it for 44 years during which time no agriculture of any significance or restoration of its terrain ever took place. Instead, the Golan was a Syrian army artillery encampment whose sole purpose was to deliberately rain down an endless barrage of shells upon Israeli farmers, fishermen and villagers .

Might Trump’s ME Plan actually work?

By Tom Gross, The Spectator (UK)
April 4, 2019

Could Donald Trump unexpectedly win the Nobel Peace Prize? He would be following in the footsteps of his predecessor but unlike Barack Obama in 2009 his award could be for something significant: helping to bring an end to one of the world’s most intractable conflicts – the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians.

It might sound implausible but Trump may have a better chance of delivering peace – or at least a non-belligerency agreement – than previous presidents, even if those chances do still remain low.

Trump’s Middle East peace envoy (and ex-real estate lawyer) Jason Greenblatt, who I met recently, says that the Trump team will soon unveil their plan – the “deal of the century”, as Trump has dubbed it. It could even come a day or two after next Tuesday’s Israeli elections. The election results will be known the same evening and the coalition that is then formed may be greatly influenced by the content of the plan.
