Iranian-backed militias are targeting US forces in Iraq. The Iranian-linked group Saraya Awliya Al-Dam claimed to have targeted American bases in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Northern Iraq, on March 1. Numerous reports in Erbil said they heard explosions in and around the airport. This appears to be how Iran is seeking to expand the war to Iraq.

Former president Joe Biden is widely known as a staunch friend and ally of Israel’s. At least in some circles. For example, the AP claims of him that he is a Zionist “in his heart.” Reuters offers this quote of Mr. Biden: “I am a Zionist.” According to NBC News: “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Joe Biden, who have a long history together, have been plunged into a wartime partnership.” Al Jazeera features a picture of the two of them hugging each other and goes on to say: “’It’s the price of waging a war.’ Those were Joe Biden’s words in late October, when the United States president was asked about civilian casualties in war-stricken Gaza.” NPR maintains: “Biden faces pushback within his own party for his unwavering support of Israel.”

Promises Kept
Peloni: I recall more than a decade ago, the brilliant, powerful, and epic speech which PM Netanyahu delivered before the US Congress in opposition to the tragic ruse commonly known as the JCPOA, but which was in fact a full guarantee from the world’s only Superpower that Iran would one day become a member of the club of nuclear nations. My heart grew heavy in the aftermath of that moving speech for, even as the JCPOA failed to be ratified, it came to be given the full effect as if it had been, at least for a time. And yet, across the more than a decade which passed from that day to this, we came to witness the tenacity, determination, and commitment expressed in Bibi’s 2015 speech come to be fully personified in the persons of PM Bibi Netanyahu and Pres. Donald Trump, as they stood firm against the crippling promise that a modern day Haman state would one day wield the influence and capabilities of being a nuclear power. The steadfast rejection by these two men to let this travesty of history come to be has truly fulfilled the prophetic words spoken by PM Netanyahu to Elie Wiesel in 2015 as recalled in the below clip.

US-Israel Attack Iran: Trump Says Tehran Reached Out for Negotiation Day After Khamenei Killing
Peloni: Pray tell, exactly what might there be to negotiate with the Mullahs? The phrase of the day which should be called to mind in Iran is “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER”, and never “negotiations”. Does anyone remember when the last time Trump mentioned the concept of unconditional surrender? It was in regards to the war with Hamas. While Trump chose to otherwise enter into a negotiated settlement with Hamas whereby these barbarians would agree to surrender, er…, dissolve, er…, disarm, er…, nothing (at least yet)… It is vital that the war in Iran not dissolve into anything related to the coming disaster in Gaza. Indeed, it is important that the Mullahs are forced to do as General Alfred Jodl did at the end of WWII, and sign a document acknowledging their agreement to “UNCONDITIONALLY SURRENDER”. This is how wars are ended, and it is how victory is certified, for the benefit of clarity on behalf of both the victors and the vanquished, both in words and in deeds. It is regrettable that this policy was not pursued by Trump in dealing with Hamas in Gaza, but it should certainly be employed in the war with Iran.

Peloni: The Iranian people will of course have the final word on who leads them post-Khamenei, but the push should be to have Pahlavi lead his nation towards a better tomorrow, in either a short term or long term position of leadership in Iran. After long anticipation, the US (“Operation Epic Fury”) and Israel (“Operation Roaring Lion”) launched a joint attack on targets across Iran, including Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah. It must be said that this is qualitatively different from the June 2025 strikes in three critical ways: those strikes were over in hours, whereas the US military is now planning for several days of sustained operations.
