Florida Republican Rick Scott intensified his legal efforts on Sunday as recounts began in the state’s Senate race, The Hill reported.

Scott’s team filed emergency motions in Palm Beach and Broward County demanding that all voting machines, ballots and tabulating devices be impounded when they are not in use.

Scott’s campaign also filed a complaint in Broward County court requesting that a judge ban the county canvassing board from including ballots counted after the deadline in the final tally.

After 100 rockets, Hamas warns Israel of worse to come in event of broad Israeli reprisals

DEBKA 17:08

GO HERE FOR LIVE UPDATES.

After taking several barrages of 100 rockets on Monday, Nov. 12, Israelis living less than 40km from the Gaza border were told to stay in fortified spaces until further notice as Hamas threatened to expand its rocket targets if Israeli air strikes hit large areas in the Gaza Strip in retaliation.

Rocket alerts were accordingly heard Monday evening in more distant parts of southern Israel, including the Dead, Sea region.  Residents of towns up to 40km from Gaza, including Beersheba, Lachish and Kiryat Gath, were advised to stay within easy access to shelters.

The power of party affiliation

By Abraham Diskin, ISRAEL HAYOM

Exit polls are one of the most important tools for identifying supporters of a specific candidate or party in U.S. elections. Various media outlets station people outside sample voting stations to poll voters on how they voted immediately after they exit the station. The results of these polls are usually based on huge samples taken from across the country and they are fascinating.

Midterm exit polls showed that around half of voters said they had decided who to vote for “in the last month” and even “in recent days.” In this respect, there was no difference between supporters of Democratic and Republican candidates for the House of Representatives. The polls indicated the final results long before the election was held. The same was also true in the past. When U.S. President Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential elections, many commentators called it a “big upset,” but it turns out early exit polls had been right.

A New Proposal for Gaza

The plan is based around a simple idea: Establish an Israeli desalination plant, built on Israeli land, funded by Saudi Arabia, the Europeans and others, that provides clean water to Gaza.

BY MIKE EVANS, JPOST  NOVEMBER 10, 2018

Gaza Diagram

Over the past 30 days, I have presented a new plan to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el Sisi, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Trump administration officials and European Union leaders, all of whom have received it with great enthusiasm.

The plan is based around a simple idea: Establish an Israeli desalination plant, built on Israeli land, funded by Saudi Arabia, the Europeans and others, that provides clean water to Gaza.

Guardian of the Gulf

For the Gulf States and the Saudis, a common threat means that Israel is becoming part of the solution instead of playing its old role as the core of the problem.

By Mordechai Kedar, INN

The parade of visitors to the Arab Gulf States (note that this term is being used because the Arabs are insulted when “their” gulf is called “Persian”) in recent weeks is quite remarkable: The Prime Minister, two Cabinet ministers – Miri Regev and Yisrael Katz – the head of Israel’s Mossad and a Judo delegation.  The Israeli flag was flown at a judo competition in Abu Dhabi, the Israeli national anthem was played there twice and the Israeli Culture Minister sang “the Jewish soul yearns…to be a free nation in our land…” while wiping away tears of emotion. The skies, it should be noted, did not fall down. And to top it all off, their host took them to visit the Sheikh Zaid Mosque – and all of the above happened in the space of one month.

The question that arises of its own is does this signal something new? Is this a real change?  A strategic earthquake? Or is it simply that what was going on behind the scenes has been revealed all of a sudden. It is worth remembering as well, though, that while Israelis have visited the Gulf, there has been no public reciprocal visit to Israel of anyone from the Gulf States.

US envoy: Neither side will like everything in peace plan

Jason Greenblatt reportedly says plan will be announced ‘soon’ and urges people not to believe rumors about the plan before they’ve read it.

ARUTZ SHEVA

US envoy Jason Greenblatt said at a closed-door event in London on Wednesday that the US will “soon” announce President Trump’s peace plan, Channel 10 reported, citing officials attending the event, organized by the UK Association for the Wellbeing of Israel’s Soldiers.

Greenblatt was in London after meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Sunday. He tweeted that he had “discussed important topics including the situation in Gaza and regional developments” during the meeting with the prime minister.

PA Systematically Annexing Tens of Thousands of Acres in Judea and Samaria

JEWISH PRESS

Hostile Takeover: Regavim’s latest report exposes the Palestinian Authority’s systematic but silent plan, powered by massive European Union financial support: Strategically-positioned agricultural land-seizure projects covering tens of thousands of dunams of land in areas under full Israeli jurisdiction are creating irreversible facts on the ground. Large-scale planting, creation of irrigation systems, and an enormous network of illegal roads are carving up the open spaces in Judea and Samaria and drawing the borders of a de facto Palestinian state in Israel’s heartland – in flagrant violation of the law.

We can take back our sovereignty

By Vic Rosenthal

Every time Tzipi Livni opens her mouth, the word “democracy” comes out. According to Livni, the government and the Knesset that were democratically elected by the people are constantly “endangering” it, “undermining” it, “imperiling it,” and so on.

Nothing contradicts her more powerfully than the fact that her bloc is consistently defeated at the ballot box in elections that are probably the most free and fair in the world.

There is, however, another word that she does not say – and unfortunately, that our supposedly “right-wing” government doesn’t utter often enough either. That word is “sovereignty.”

There is no diplomatic solution

by Steve Kramer

The vaunted two-state solution is defunct, because the Palestinian Arabs want to annihilate Israel, not “live alongside of Israel in peace.” The one-state solution has its own insurmountable problems. So, what is the best alternative other than continuing the status quo? Jordan as the State of Palestine.

When the Balfour Declaration was promulgated in 1917 during WWI, it included all of today’s Israel and Jordan, with the idea that the “National Home” for the Jews would be established “in” Palestine. But, in the 1916 ?ussein-McMahon correspondence, Britain had already promised an independent Arab state in Palestine to the Hashemite clan, for its assistance in opposing the Ottoman Empire.

Can Europe’s Liberal Order Survive as the Memory of War Fades?

The Rev. Joseph Musser’s family has always lived in the region of Alsace, but not always in the same country.

His grandfather fought for the Germans in World War I, and his father for the French in World War II. Today, no one is fighting anymore. His great-niece lives in France but works in Germany, crossing the border her ancestors died fighting over without even noticing it.

It is this era of peace and borderless prosperity that champions of the European Union consider the bloc’s singular achievement.

Analysis What Israel Thinks the U.S. Is Trying to Achieve With Renewed Iran Sanctions

Ted Belman. Harel neglects to mention that the US is also trying to force Iran to abandon its attemps at hegemony and its support for terrorism and to get it to withdraw from Syria. Why Israel’s intelligence community is not on board is a mystery to me.

U.S. may be trying to force Tehran into reopening the nuclear deal, or affect regime change. Either way, the pressure is leading Iran to make grave mistakes in Europe

The imposition of the second wave of American sanctions against Iran, following Washington’s exit from the multilateral nuclear agreement with Tehran, has led to smiles in Jerusalem. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hastened – and quite rightly – to claim credit for the Trump administration’s move. The final outcome from the escalation of the pressure on Iran is still a ways off, but it’s hard to deny the claim that Netanyahu is the one who pushed Trump in that direction, especially as he did it despite a contrary view in much of the Israeli intelligence community.

Adam Shiff will shut down the probe that found FBI abuses

Burying the Other Russia Story

The Editorial Board  Wall Street Journal

Arguably the most important power at stake in Tuesday’s election was Congressional oversight, and the most important change may be Adam Schiff at the House Intelligence Committee. The Democrat says his top priority is re-opening the Trump-Russia collusion probe, but more important may be his intention to stop investigating how the FBI and Justice Department abused their power in 2016. So let’s walk through what we’ve learned to date.

Karl Rove: As Florida ballot count battle rages, Democrats are recklessly violating state law

T. Belman. Can anyone advise of the following:
Is there an approved voters list?
How is a ballot identied as belonging to a certain person on the list?
Are dead people removed from the list or is there a problem here?
What is to stop someone from using unused ballots to stuff the ballot boxes with fraudulent votes?

Breaking: Broward County Employee Signs Affidavit Admitting Seeing Elections Staff Filling Out Blank Ballots!

By Carl Rove, FOX NEWS

Local Democratic officials in Broward and Palm Beach counties in Florida are recklessly violating state law in what may be an attempt to overturn the results of Tuesday’s midterm elections for governor and the U.S. Senate in the Sunshine State.

This looks like a repeat of the actions in Florida in the 2000 presidential election, when Democratic officials ignored state election laws – and were slapped down by the U.S. Supreme Court in a 7-2 decision.

Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda C. Snipes said Tuesday night that 634,000 votes had been cast in the county. But by Thursday night, Snipes was claiming 712,840 ballots had been cast.

What I saw in a day on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside shocked me

How have we let things go so wrong for Canada’s roughest neighbourhood?

Marcus Gee, GLOBE AND MAIL

Trey Helten, frontline worker for the Overdose Prevention Society, opens the door for a user at the facility on East Hastings Street in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.RAFAL GERSZAK/THE GLOBE AND MAIL

It’s just another day on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

A young man sits on the wet sidewalk, his legs spread wide, sucking the smoke from a burning fragment of dope with a plastic tube. A man with lank black hair is slumped against a wall, bent over double like a limp marionette, his dangling arm twitching at his side. A woman in skinny jeans, leaning on a storefront, pulls the plunger of a syringe carefully up and down, getting ready to give herself a hit. An open package of dainty cookies lies by her side.

Mass Migration: Majority of Germans Feel Like ‘Stranger in Their Own Country’

Virginia Hale, BRIETBART

Germans

A majority of Germans say the level of mass migration has left them feeling “like a stranger in their own country”, according to a new study.

Presented as part of this year’s Leipzig University research into “authoritarian” attitudes in the country, the figure showed a rise of 12 points since the Competence Center for Right-Wing Extremism and Democracy Research tested Germans on the same questions in 2014, with 56 per cent of Germans expressing the sentiment in 2018.

Trump Versus the Euro-Swamp

By James Lewis, AMERICAN THINKER

Flags outside the headquarters of the European Commission in BrusselsPhoto credit: Sébastien Bertrand

This guy Donald Trump has amazing physical staying power. Right after his end-sprint in the Midterms, which ended pretty well, and only pausing for a White House presser to deliver a kick to Jim Acosta, Donald Trump is in Europe, where the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day is being memorialized on Sunday.

In case you forgot, Armistice Day is the day the guns stopped firing in the trenches in World War I, after the United States sent in our first huge expeditionary force to tilt the balance against the Central Powers, including the German Empire, as Bismarck had rebranded Prussia in 1848, and the other German Empire of the time, called the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Israel and Qatar have reportedly agreed to establish a sea crossing between Cyprus and the Gaza Strip as part of Egyptian-mediated talks aimed at reaching a deal between Israel and Hamas, which rules the Palestinian enclave.

The Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar reported that Israel is demanding that the crossing be monitored physically by international inspectors as well as Israeli security forces. Hamas, a terror organization committed to Israel’s destruction, is reportedly insisting that the crossing be under video surveillance while agreeing to international forces.
