On July 10, 2013, attorney Daniel Tauber, Director of Likud Anglos, authored an article that appeared in the Jerusalem Post under the title “It’s no bluff: Netanyahu means it.” Mr. Tauber explained that Netanyahu does indeed endorse the creation of a Palestinian state in the land of Israel, as he expressly avowed in his Bar-Ilan University speech of June 14, 2009.
On May 20, 2009, the month before Netanyahu delivered that speech, the present writer penned an article entitled “The Absurdity of a Palestinian State: The Lesson from Egypt” (the lesson conveyed by Dr. Daniel Pipes). Here is what I wrote:

Hamas leaders find themselves in a worrisome situation. Another of their tunnels penetrating into Israeli territory has been exposed and destroyed. In total, three tunnels (four, by another tally) have been destroyed in about two and a half months, and it seems like Hamas is quickly losing its most significant strategic weapon ahead of the next possible military confrontation with Israel.
Yes, the terror group still has its rockets — and due to the success of the Iron Dome defense system, it has focused on developing short-range rockets with large warheads and mortars. But still, the attack tunnels were considered the crowning glory of Hamas’s military capabilities. Now, it’s becoming clear, that weapon is about to lose its relevance.

The Israel air strike Saturday night, Jan. 13, in the southern Gaza Strip was aimed at a terror tunnel running 180m into Israel that Hamas was building under the Kerem Shalom crossing through which convoys of goods pass from Israel to the Gaza Strip. It also ran into Egyptian territory under the Rafah border between Gaza and Sinai. This was disclosed early Sunday by the IDF spokesman. He noted that Israeli fighters hit the tunnel at the Gaza end. Work to finish its demolition continued Sunday. The new tunnel ran under the gas and heavy oil pipelines through which Israel supplies the Gaza Strip population with fuel.

Nothing scandalizes a leftist like the truth. Point out that women and men are different, that black Americans commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime, that most terrorist acts are committed by Muslims, and the Left leaps to its collective feet in openmouthed shock, like Margaret Dumont after a Groucho Marx wisecrack. This is racism! This is sexism! This is some sort of phobia! I’m shocked, shocked to find facts being spoken in polite company!
No one is really shocked, of course. This is simply a form of bullying. The Left has co-opted our good manners and our good will in order to silence our opposition to their bad policies. The idea is to make it seem impolite and immoral to mention the obvious.

Netanyahu and the IDF CoS seem to be hinting that they are losing patience with the world’s passivity as Iran gets nearer to Israel.
While much of Israel’s media, the large TV broadcasters in particular, were busy with yet another ‘scandal’ involving the Prime Minister, or more precisely his son Yair, something important happened in Syria. It remained largely unreported but delivered evidence that the war there is far from over and could even escalate into a larger conflict.
First, the reported part of this week’s events in Syria:
On Monday night, the Israeli Air Force again conducted a strike on a weapons storage facility in the Damascus region with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reporting the site was a missile silo run by Hezbollah.
The IAF strike was part of Israel’s “multifaceted effort” to combat growing Iranian influence over Syria and the encroachment of Iranian-backed Shiite militias on Israel’s northern border.

A fake dossier, paid for with millions of dollars by the Clinton campaign and the DNC to Fusion GPS, a research firm with ties to Russia, was used by the FBI to receive a warrant from the FISA court, without any corroborated evidence, to spy on their political opponents during a presidential campaign!
Everything in this dossier was false information provided by Russian agents via a former British spy in the pay of the DNC and possibly the FBI, except for one piece of information that a man called Carter Paige visited Moscow as part of his academic work.
The Russian produced unsubstantiated claims that Trump cavorted with prostitutes in a hotel bedroom and included urinating on the bed. This is a crime punishable with imprisonment.
As a result of this false report, the FBI and DOJ applied for and got a Special Council to investigate a trumped-up Trump collusion with Russia.
It will be made clear in the coming weeks that the highest level of the FBI and Department of Justice became politically corrupted throughout the Obama Administration.
This Special Council was decked with Democratic and affirmatively pro-Clinton top staffers to dig for dirt on the newly elected president.
Shockingly, people connected to the dossier have died.
Here are a list of 9 Russian officials and agents connected to the Fusion GPS dossier that have been killed or have died in mysterious circumstances since the dossier became a hot potato;
Oleg Evovinkin, Migayas Shrinsky, Vitaly Chirkin, Denis Vorenenkov, Alexander Kadakin, Andrey Malanin, Andrei Karlov.
The hunt was to pin Russian collusion on Trump. But now all the evidence is pointing directly at the Clinton campaign, the DNC, in collusion with the FBI and Russia.

An attorney representing Fusion GPS said in a closed Senate hearing last year that “somebody’s already been killed” as a result of the so-called Trump dossier.
“He wants to be very careful to protect his sources,” Josh Levy, an attorney for Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson said in the closed 10-hour hearing at the Senate Judiciary Committee on Aug. 22, 2017. “Somebody’s already been killed as a result of the publication of this dossier, and no harm should come to anybody related to this honest work.”
Neither Levy nor Simpson elaborated on who was killed. However, it has been reported that Oleg Erovinkin, a former general in the KGB and its successor FSB, helped Steele compile the dossier. He was found dead in his car in Moscow in December 2016, and no cause of death has yet been confirmed.

Moscow believes Washington already set on withdrawing from accord, Deputy FM says, vowing to fight to keep agreement alive
MOSCOW — Russia on Saturday said Washington would be making a grave mistake by pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal, adding that Moscow would work hard to keep the landmark agreement alive.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov criticized remarks by US President Donald Trump, who on Friday said the US will not reimpose nuclear sanctions on Iran for the moment, but would withdraw later this year unless the terms of the deal are changed.

T. Belman. Whenever I call for the end of UNRWA, David Bedein writes me to disagree. He says it must be reformed rather then rejected. Here he says the reason is even if the US cuts off funding, then Saudi Arabia will take up the slack. To the contrary, I believe that if the US cuts off funds and encourages the refugees to take up residence in Jordan, Saudi arabia will follow suit and that will be the end of UNRWA and their indoctrination system.

The GAO, the General Accounting Office, the investigative arm of the US Congress, is scheduled to issue a massive report on the indiscretions of UNRWA during the month of February. That report will create even more calls for the US to cut its aid to UNRWA, since the GAO is expected to produce real evidence of UNRWA ties to terror.
However, just because the US may suspend assistance of $369 million to UNRWA, that does not mean that this agency and its $1.2 billion budget will soon disappear.
What too many people do not address is who will replace US aid to UNRWA?

To be misquoted is an occupational hazard of political leadership; for this reason I should like to clarify my position in regard to the Palestinian issue. I have been charged with being rigidly insensitive to the question of the Palestinian Arabs. In evidence of this I am supposed to have said, “There are no Palestinians.” My actual words were: “There is no Palestinian people. There are Palestinian refugees.” The distinction is not semantic. My statement was based on a lifetime of debates with Arab nationalists who vehemently excluded a separatist Palestinian Arab nationalism from their formulations.

President Donald Trump on Friday announced that he will waive sanctions against Iran for the final time, extending the life of an international nuclear accord that he disavowed three months ago.
Rather than continue to periodically extend sanctions relief, which is currently required to keep the deal alive, Trump will work with European partners on developing new provisions to strengthen the deal.
Trump is essentially asking America’s partners to make the deal permanent, a request that could be difficult for many to accept.

Anger, writes Maimonides, is a treacherous emotion to be avoided in most situations, as is hate (Codes, The Book of Knowledge 2:3). Except when faced with evil. Then, anger is an appropriate, necessary and energizing emotion. And it is a mitzvah to hate those who seek to undermine the morality of society or to destroy the nation.
In matters of defense and foreign affairs, anger can be an especially dangerous basis for policy. One hopes and expects that cooler heads will dominate government decision-making in these fields, even when facing brazen assaults on our national dignity and security.
And yet, there comes a point when one hankers for a bit more peeve in Israel’s positioning; a touch more irritation in Israel’s response to attacks on it; a little less acceptance of the inevitability of hypocrisy in the way Israel is treated by putative allies and the usual enemies alike.

T. Belman. Bolton recommends ramping up sanctions. I think that is not enough.. The US should go for regime change by supplying arms to the protesters. Iran would be forced to get defensive at home instead of offensive in their quest for hegemony. Once the protesters are dying in the streets, the US must double down on regime change. In addition the US should bomb the nuclear facilities.
There is no other way to stop Iran from developing the bomb and the means to deliver it.
Trump is right that he’s damned if he maintains Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran and damned if he kills the deal
Its that time of the year again. In accordance with the Iranian Nuclear Agreement Review Act, by Sunday US President Donald Trump must either certify that Iran is complying with the nuclear deal his predecessor Barack Obama concluded with the Iranian regime, or he must announce that Iran is breaching the accord.
Last October, after angrily certifying compliance at his two previous deadlines, Trump decertified Iranian compliance.
Trump could have walked away from the nuclear deal by reinstating the sanctions on Iran’s oil and gas industries, its banking sector and other foundations of Iran’s economy that were lifted when the deal was implemented. Doing so would have effectively killed the nuclear accord.

Every time there is a horrific terrorist murder of a Jew because he or she is a Jew, I am compelled to write one of what I am calling my “outrage posts.”
I’m outraged that this can continue, over and over. Every time, I write that we need a death penalty, or that we should fire a cruise missile at the center of the town that the murderers came from and then build a Jewish town on the ruins. Every time, I write that the perpetrators will almost certainly be caught, but the chances are good that they will survive their arrest and get more-than-humane treatment in an Israeli prison, and their families will receive a monthly stipend from the Palestinian Authority paid for by the US, the EU and even Israel. And every time, I am reminded of the Shalit deal, where a kidnapped soldier was traded for more than a thousand terrorists, including mass murderers.
