Dr. David Wurmser Discusses Israeli Tariff, Iran and Turkey

Peloni:  In this 30 min video, Wurmser explores the useful aspect of the tariff being leveraged on Israel, warning signs which the US should have (and didn’t) address in its meeting with Iran, and the strengthening threat from Turkey.  This interview preceded Saturday’s meeting between the US and Iran, just FYI.

‘This is Just a Beginning’: United States and Iran Begin Nuclear Talks in Oman

FDD | April 12, 2025

Latest Developments

  • Discussions Begin: Indirect talks between the United States and Iran over the future of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program began on April 12 in Oman. The Iranian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, negotiated with representatives from the United States administration headed by White House envoy Steve Witkoff, with both parties remaining in separate rooms for approximately two hours. However, Araghchi and Witkoff reportedly met face-to-face as they exited the meeting venue — marking the first direct contact between U.S. and Iranian officials since the start of President Trump’s term. Further talks are scheduled for next week, with Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei later stating that “this is just a beginning.”

Defending Israel and Western Civilization More Urgent than Ever

by Guy Millière  •  Gatestone Institute  •  April 13, 2025

The vast majority of Israelis seem finally to have understood that the goal of Palestinian organizations is not to create a state living in peace alongside Israel, but to destroy Israel. The West, wrote the columnist Melanie Phillips, needs “to take off its blinders, join up the dots and fight like Israel to survive.” Pictured: Hamas terrorists on their way into Israel from Gaza Strip, on their mission to murder Jews, on the morning of October 7, 2023. • [A]ll Hamas needs to do to prevent this destruction is return all the hostages it should not have kidnapped in the first place. Amnesty International has served up a remarkable inversion of facts.

Trump should not imitate Obama, repeating his presidential mistakes

Peloni:  These negotiations are a grave mistake, and any ‘deal’ arising from them will be fraught with betrayal and delay which will only advantage the Iranians in outlasting Trump’s remaining less than 4yr term.   Consenting to using Witkoff rather than Rubio to conduct these proceedings was a second obviously owned error.  The outcome of these discussions will define US policy in the region, but they must not limit Israel from pursuing her own Red Lines as stated by Bibi after meeting with Trump.

The lessons from 2015 must be clear to avoid another disastrous deal. No negotiations should begin until Iran fully dismantles its nuclear program.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s recent visit to Washington dealt with two main issues that could become points of contention in the otherwise warm relations between PM Netanyahu and President Trump—tariffs and the Iran nuclear program, the latter of which we will focus on.

Tulsi Gabbard Said ‘Radical Islamist Terrorism’ Is the Biggest Threat, and Then This Happened

Peloni:  Political violence is the antithesis of freedom of speech and it is the key by which free nations fall.  It will be interesting to see what basis of threat underlines this latest threat, but as the well know two previous attempts on then candidate Former President Trump demonstrates, there should be strong penalties applied for any and all crimes which have actually been committed.

By | April 12, 2025

The details that have been revealed thus far are extremely sparse. Fox 5 Atlanta reported Friday that the FBI had revealed that “a Georgia man” had been arrested for making threats against Donald Trump and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. That’s almost all we know at this point, but there is one other salient detail that raises a number of other questions about this case.

Israeli forces encircle Rafah, IDF intercepts 3 rockets fired from southern Gaza

Peloni:  In a year and a half, not a single Gazan has come to report details surrounding the whereabouts of a single hostage.  NOT ONE.  So while Katz’ commentary to the Gazans about the distinctions which separate them from the Hamas leadership is useful to inform the entire world of these facts, it must be understood by all reasonable men that Gazans are Hamas.  They have been well trained for the effect of rejoicing in the savagery of October 7 and resistant to the most generous of offers to produce just one equivalent of the Righteous Gentiles of WWII…and yet we here only crickets in response.

What, Now, Israel?

By Walter E. Block

First a look at the past:

It was good that the IDF held off as long as it did on house to house fighting in Gaza. The Israeli army is only more efficient than its despicable Hamas counterpart by a relatively small multiple in this milieu. Every Jewish soldiers’ life is precious, and some have already died fighting for justice. Instead, stick to your comparative advantage: high tech, where there is a large multiple differential in effectiveness. Borrow a leaf from the Americans vis a vis the Japanese; they did not invade that country until it became a mopping up operation only.

What President Trump Must Demand to Eliminate Iran’s Nuclear Threat

Peloni:  In a WSJ Op Ed, Trump’s Mideast Envoy, Steve Witkoff has already signaled a position of retreat in place of what should have been clear US resolve to have Iran, itself, retreat.   Stating that “Where our red line will be, there can’t be weaponization of your nuclear capability” Witkoff has indicated a significant weaking of Trump’s own message to Iran.  Indeed, after assembling the greatest military presence in history in the region, alongside the equivocating threat from Trump himself, Witkoff’s prevarication will unfortunately betray US resolve while strengthening Iranian resistance.  This portends a very unfortunate outcome should Witkoff’s statements indicate Trump’s true position in this negotiation.  If Trump’s position has not changed, the FDD assessment below should have been used in place of the Witkoff strategy of weakness.

The United States and Iran are set to hold landmark talks on April 12, President Donald Trump announced earlier in the week, just weeks after Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei refused the idea. The watershed event follows the president’s letter to Khamenei in early March in which he posed a stark ultimatum to Tehran: negotiate a deal within two months that removes the nuclear threat, or face punishing U.S. sanctions and possibly strikes on the regime’s nuclear facilities.

The Process Matters When Confronting the Deep State

Peloni:  Is this the real reason that the Russiagate files, which had full authorization to be released, were leaked, ie to taint the release with an implied political bias?

Sundance | April 12, 2025

Regarding the recently released Russiagate files. Again, emphasizing that process matters, let me explain how and why we are being purposefully misled, even with Trump ‘allies’ in control of various govt agencies (silos).

New York Times: Fighting Antisemitism is Bad for the Jews

At least when it’s leftist antisemitism.

In surprising news, the newspaper that published a list of Jewish members of Congress with yellow marks over their names during the Iran Deal vote (not in 1939 but in 2015) thinks fighting antisemitism is a bad idea.

Israeli Arabs moved nearly 3 million shekels ($800,000 USD) from Turkey to help fund terror in Judea and Samaria

Israel’s enemies repeatedly call Israel an occupier of Judea and Samaria, although the Jews are indigenous to the land. Given the jihad against it, Israel needs to expand its presence in Judea and Samaria even more in order to preserve its state. At the end of February, the IDF discovered Hamas plans for a mass jihad attack in Judea, Samaria and central Israel. And in mid-February, an Israeli brigadier general warned that released jihadi prisoners would wage jihad and build militias in Judea and Samaria.

Lingering question: Did Ukaine have some role in an attempt to kill Trump?

Peloni:  What did Ukraine know, what did they do with that knowledge, and most importantly, why is there such a hushed silence surrounding these questions?

By Monica Showalter | Am Thinker | April 11, 2025

In a age of lightning-fast information and leaks over secrets, it’s remarkable how quiet things are on who may have been behind the two known assassination attempts on President Trump last summer, one of which almost succeeded.

We still don’t know.
