Trump tells Netanyahu US starting direct, ‘high level’ nuclear talks with Iran — but no new tariff or hostage deal announced yet

Peloni: No imminent strike on Iran, no drop in the tariff on Israel, and no hostages released.  How many ways can we spell disappointment.  In fact, it seems that this meeting was called by Trump to shore up support for his talks with Iran, but the reality is that this is how the Iranian hudna has been pursued with Iran for decades.  They are vulnerable, but they will only truly respond when forced to do so.  Indeed, hudna vs victory should be an easy choice for an administration which calls for peace thru strength.  Hopefully the talks will soon be abbreviated as the shadow of a fleet of B-2’s drop their payload on the ultimate terror lords in the Middle East.

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — It’s late here in Israel, nearly midnight, and Israelis are going to be surprised when they wake up on Tuesday.

Why?

FBI Promotes Key FBI Official In J6 Investigations, Sparks Online Backlash

Peloni:  What does the promotion of a key promoter of the J6 libel have to do with reforming the FBI?  Institutional baddies such as Jensen should be among the first to be frog marched from the premises, if not handed over to his replacements to be interrogated for his part in the most outrageous political show trial in US history.

The FBI agent who spearheaded domestic terrorism operations during Jan. 6, 2021 was promoted to a senior role in the bureau’s Washington Field Office, generating backlash among some conservatives.

Trump’s Tariffs Tackle Clinton’s China Carnage

Peloni:  This legacy of devastation and betrayal is what Trump’s Liberation Day celebration is focused on repealing.

By J.B. Shurk | Am Thinker | April 7, 2025

Twenty-five years ago, President Clinton used his remaining time in office to advocate on China’s behalf.  He argued that the communist regime should be admitted to the World Trade Organization and that the United States should grant the totalitarian state permanent normal trade relations.  Critics of China pointed to the Tiananmen Square Massacre the decade before as ample reason to deny it any economic reward.  Critics of Clinton pointed to allegations that his political campaign had accepted illicit contributions from China as ample reason to doubt the president’s motives.  Still, Clinton got what he wanted, and China became a member of the WTO the very next year.

Poetic Justice for Hamas

By Walter E. Block

By Micha Brikman, CC BY-SA 3.0

What is “poetic justice?” It is more than merely a fitting punishment, one that fully “fits” the crime. In addition it “is the highest justice, the most satisfying justice … meaning punishment unique to the crime that has been committed.” It constitutes a chastisement such that even the friends and family of the criminals must admit, even against their will, that justice has truly been done.

PM Netanyahu: Further Evidence of Corruption of Jewish Division

Peloni:  The use of legal practices to disadvantage the Right is disgusting, and the building evidence demonstrating the degree to which this has been leveraged against the Right, and more specifically the settlers in J&S, is an indictment extending from the use of Lawfare to falsely employ criminal indictments against the PM to gain a political outcome.  The abuse of the legal code in such a fashion is itself illegal, against both the PM and the settlers alike.  The momentum behind these recent revelations are quite important, and are in fact resulting in an important effect on the people.  Today, the Yesha Council is calling for the disbandment of the Shin Bet’s Jewish Division.

This evening, additional shocking recordings of blackmail and threats by the deputy head of the Shin Bet’s Jewish division against police officer Avishai Mualem were revealed.

From the River to the Screen, How ‘Palestine’ Became a Viral Fantasy

The first use by Arabs of the name “Palestine” to refer to themselves didn’t occur until the 1960s. The choice of the name is almost comical considering that the Arabic language lacks the letter “P.”

Today, the mass media has replaced book culture as the dominant force creating the imagery we associate with various countries and their peoples.

Mention an “Italian vacation” and someone pictures the Coliseum or the Trevi Fountain and Gina Lollobrigida on the back of a cherry-red Vespa, rather than, say, the smoke-filled kitchen of a peasant family negotiating their sharecropping contract with the landowner.

Life, Liberty & Levin April 5&6

Peloni:  In his opening remarks, Mark explains that Trump’s proposals are the most pro-growth attempt in American history.  Reform of the size of govt, regulations, the tax code, and more is all structured around manufacturing and job growth in the US.  He argues further that the use of tariffs will re-industrialize America.  Additionally, Mark explains that this growth is not just helpful to the economic future of the average American, but it is addressing the geopolitical need for America to re-establish a national manufacturing core which could be tapped should war with a peer power ever come to be.  The combination of tax cuts with the applied tariff policy will have the twin effect of boosting domestic prosperity and addressing the problems associated with the monetizing of excessive spending of previous administrations, particularly those of the Obiden years.  Mark also discusses the current state of affairs ongoing in China with Gordan Chang, and the issue of deporting college campus terror advocates with Mark Goldfeder.

‘DESIGNED’ TO CHEAT US: Navarro warns international trade system is rigged

Peloni:  Very Important Interview.  Business abhors uncertainty.  Clarity about the purpose and permanence of the new US tariffs would have gone a long way towards supporting business interests around the world while coping with the announcement of Trump’s tariffs.  Peter Navarro provides some of this clarity in stating that it is the “non-tariff cheating [currency manipulation, fake agricultural standards, export subsidies, etc] that matters the most”.  Making it clear that this issue is THE ISSUE long before the tariff announcement would have been useful, but it is being made clear now in any event.

Revelation of Shin Bet Arresting Settlers Without Evidence or Cause

Peloni:  This has been discussed for some time now.  Still the revealing and frank confession here is a jarring indictment, and as Gadi explains, it is quite in keeping with the mindset which led to the stand down preceding and eliciting the October 7 slaughter.

Northwestern Shows Universities How to Fight Antisemitism

Peloni:  The educational centers which are not complying with Federal regulations should be prosecuted to the full limit of the law.  What Northwestern has demonstrated is that it only takes a will to comply with the law to actually not violate it.   Consequently, non-compliance with these legal norms should not be  a point of discussion, they need no examples of how to comply with the law, and those institutions which have failed America and their students so badly over the past years by harboring, advocating, and supporting terror and antisemitism should be shown the scorn of both federal subsidies and student attendance.  The only credibility of these pro-terror institutions is to be found in their history of successfully having guided the leaders of tomorrow.  Their gross failure in these past years to credibly recognize the abject evil which they promoted demonstrates that this credibility has been irreparably undone.  Shutter them all and prosecute those who are responsible and those who complied with such promotions of terror.

Not all universities have been as lackadaisical or uncaring as Columbia and Harvard in fighting antisemitism on their campuses. Northwestern University President Michael Schill appeared before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce for a hearing on antisemitism almost a year ago. This was the same committee that heard the presidents of Harvard, MIT, and the University of Pennsylvania. Now, the university released a report in late March describing a decrease in antisemitic incidents.

‘Commanded the Kidnappings’: Israel Eliminates Terrorist Implicated in Kidnapping and Murders of Bibas Family and American Citizens

FDD | April 5, 2025

Latest Developments

  • Terrorist Eliminated: Israel announced on April 4 that it had eliminated Mohammed Hassan Mohammed Awad, a senior terrorist in the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement terror organization that is sometimes referred to as the “Mujahideen Brigades.” Awad “commanded the kidnappings of Shiri, Kfir, and Ariel Bibas,” during the October 7, 2023, atrocities and was “likely personally involved” in their murders. Awad also was responsible for the kidnappings of American citizens Gad Haggai and Judi Weinstein, along with numerous Thai citizens.

Australia: Heading for Jihadist Conflict

by Nils A. Haug  •  Gatestone Institute  •  April 6, 2025

An undercurrent of extremist Islam exists within Australia’s Middle Eastern community. Anti-Semitic acts have become common in Australia, with more than 2,000 incidents in 2024 alone. They included 65 physical assaults and 600 cases of verbal abuse. • The apparent normalization of jihadist-Islamist radicals, such as Hamas and Hezbollah, became frighteningly real when a video revealed that two Muslim immigrant nurses working in a Sydney hospital boasted that one of them had “killed Israeli patients” and the other had sworn to “let them die.”
