WASH—Jun 21—KIN ?The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI are among the latest in the President’s administration to use the names “Allah” and “God” interchangeably. This is a disgrace. While there are minor differences between reputable Jewish and Christian scholars on the true name of the one true God, it is not Allah. Yet Presidents H.W. Bush, Clinton, G.W. Bush, and Obama all say they are the same.

Now the FBI and the Department of Justice are saying that God (YHWH) and Allah are one and the same. This is blasphemy, and should be offensive to every Christian and Jew. The FBI re-released a redacted transcript of the Orlando terrorist attack, restating references to Islamic State, but changing references of “Allah” to “God.”

In a stunning victory for the anti-establishment forces that have upended mainstream politics across the Western world, British voters chose on Thursday to pull their country out of the European Union, sending global markets into a tailspin and encouraging anti-E.U. forces across the continent to push for their own referenda on whether to break away.

“The E.U. is failing, the E.U. is dying,” declared the leader of the U.K. Independence Party, Nigel Farage, one of the leaders of the campaign for the British exit, or Brexit, from the union formed from the ruins of Europe after World War II. “It’s a victory against big business…against big politics,” he told reporters early on Friday morning, as the results showed 52% of the votes had been cast in favor of leaving and 48% against.

Moncef Marzouki, the president of Tunisia from 2011 to 2014, has penned an analysis predicting, as I have, the demise of Islamism. I quote from a MiddleEastEye.net abridgement and translation of the original Arabic version that appeared at Aljazeera.net.

Marzouki, a liberal human rights activist who returned from exile after a popular revolt brought down dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, became president under a power-sharing agreement following Tunisia’s first free parliamentary elections in October 2011, heading a government dominated by the Islamist Ennahda party. “We do not have the same point of view on women’s rights, human rights, and so forth,” he lamented to Time magazine in 2012.

Writing in the Jerusalem Post on Monday, historian Efraim Karsh made a point I’ve made many times before: Contrary to the popular notion that Israel’s “occupation” spurs Palestinian terror, the numbers inarguably prove that terror increases whenever Palestinians gain control of territory and drops whenever Israel reasserts control. In fact, Karsh said, Israel’s average annual death toll from post-Oslo terror (dating to 1993) is roughly triple the level pre-Oslo. But while he correctly cites the absence of Israel’s military as a major reason for this increase, another factor is no less important: By giving the Palestinian Authority control over schools and airwaves, Israel enabled it to launch a campaign of hate education that has significantly boosted the motivation for anti-Israel terror.

This happened on Tuesday: Palestinian terrorists spilled oil on highway 443 between Jerusalem and Modi’in and threw rocks and firebombs at passing vehicles, as they do on a regular basis. The IDF responded and opened fire at what they thought were the terrorists, killing one Palestinian teenager and wounding two others. Although all the facts aren’t available as I write this, it appears that the soldiers were mistaken about their target, and the people they shot were innocent.

Palestinians are understandably enraged, but it’s also understandable that an Israeli might ask, “what do they expect?” Every day they try and sometimes succeed to kill Jews with their rocks and firebombs, their cars and knives, and sometimes their guns and explosives. Of course we are going to fight back, and mistakes happen.

This week MK Michael Oren stood up to his boss in the Kulanu party, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, to the political Left, including hundreds of retired security brass, and to the IDF General Staff. The former ambassador to Washington urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to sign the multi-year security assistance deal that US President Barack Obama demands Israel accept.

The problem isn’t the money. By all accounts, Obama’s multi-year military assistance package is generous.

The problem is that in exchange for the expanded military aid, Obama is demanding that Israel surrender its diplomatic and military independence to the White House.

The murderous bombing attack by the ISIS organization against a Jordanian outpost at the junction of Jordan’s borders with Iraq and Syria reinforces Jordan’s new needs in dealing with the Palestinian problem. The closing of the borders with Syria and Iraq illustrates Jordan’s inability to agree to a hostile border with the Palestinians, hence the need to preserve the IDF as the friendly neighbor along the length of the Jordan River and not replace the IDF with Palestinian militias.

Union snaps back after attack by Foreign Ministry official, says absence of peace agreement has global repercussions

The European Union on Wednesday dismissed strident criticism by an Israeli official — who, among other things, had accused the organization of “colonialism” — as “offensive, inaccurate and inappropriate.”

On Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Nahshon told The Times of Israel that the EU’s policies vis-a-vis the Israeli-Palestinian conflict feel like the “ghosts of a colonial European past coming back to life.”

Congress has passed a $576 billion Defense Appropriations bill for 2016 with a wide and bipartisan majority: 282-138, according to Defense News. The Obama administration takes issue with various parts of the bill, including presenting a six-page memo specifically calling for the elimination of Congress’s allocation of $635 million for Israel.

The money for Israel includes $268.7 million in R&D for U.S.-Israel cooperative missile defense programs; $72 million for the procurement of Iron Dome; $150 million for the procurement of David’s Sling; $120 million for procurement of Arrow III; and $42.7 million for U.S.-Israel anti-tunnel cooperation.

In contrast to the “pants on fire” claims by liberal and faux conservative journalists, there hasn’t been a single poll in recent weeks before the firing of Corey Lewandowski that, once corrected for known bias, shows anything other than a Trump-Clinton tie, or even a Trump lead.

Polling data last week were staged by the uni-party so the GOPe could use the data as leverage to take control – at least partially – of Trump’s campaign. This required the apparent use – if we believe the “sourced” rumor mill – of bad polling data to justify Corey Lewandowski’s unceremonious firing. This was a campaign coup d’état on trumped up charges – nothing more, nothing less.

More evidence of the actual position Trump’s campaign was in as of Monday comes from two new polls.

A Jewish Political Action Committee is seeking to get the Republican Party platform to recognize the West Bank as an “indigenous” part of the Jewish homeland.

“The Land of Israel is the indigenous homeland of the Jewish people by right and by law and we oppose any measures to force, coerce or otherwise impose a security ‘solution’ or artificial borders on the Jewish state,” says the language proposed by Iron Dome Alliance. “We recognize an undivided Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and Judea and Samaria as integral parts of the indigenous Jewish homeland.”

Forward:  Danny Danon’s new job may possibly present an opportunity to correct the bogus opinion of WT Mallison, a close friend of Henry Cattan who had been a member of the Arab Higher Committee and had represented the Arabs at the UNSCOP hearings in the late 40s.  Mallison wrote an approving foreword when Cattan wrote a book containing his version of the problems causing an Arab-Jewish conflict in Palestine and the effect of the Partition Resolution, and followed with his own book virtually copying the views of Cattan.  Prior to that book he had not been author of any book or article except for one on Naval Warfare in which he was second author.

JPOST has published an op-ed under the heading of “Hot Opinions” by Michael Cohen titled A qualitative difference for the Democratic platform on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I wasn’t going to republish it until this excerpt caught my attention,

“A critical area where the committee has an opportunity to make a difference is the role of the next administration in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Whoever is president will focus on the core issues: borders, security, refugees and Jerusalem.

“There is not much left to negotiate with these issues; most have been discussed in the formal negotiations, the Geneva Accords, the Pittsburgh Process, et cetera. In many ways, preventing an agreement from being reached are the issues under the table, because they are the heart of the conflict.

Tony Lee: Trump needed to give this speech in front of a packed crowd in a city that has been devastated by bad trade deals. Second, Trump took a step forward but needs to keep improving as a candidate. Today, he often sounded like a Congressman at a hearing reading something that was written for him by career staffers. It didn’t feel like he viscerally owned the speech and its themes, which is something he needs to get down before the general public starts paying attention to the general election in a month. Third, Trump’s speeches never have a thread that binds everything together. Trump needs to show some vulnerability and talk about how he was underestimated and dismissed when he tried to get into New York’s real estate market from Brooklyn. He needs to then talk about some of his setbacks and then argue that America/Americans can roar back like he did.
