PM Netanyahu seeks compromise on draft exemption bill as ultra-Orthodox parties threaten to dissolve Knesset
Peloni: The likelihood of the heredim parties getting a better deal with the opposition parties is negligible, as their base was anti-heredi, even before October 7. Unless the heredim are looking to burn their bridges with the Right, a deal will be struck. Still, the attacks on Edelstein continue and are not helpful towards this goal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a meeting yesterday with Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman Yuli Edelstein to discuss advancing the draft exemption bill. According to the Times of Israel, the meeting confirmed that a path exists to bridge the gaps on the issue of conscription.
