Peloni: Any deal with Hezbollah should be understood to be a deal in which they will make no concessions while Israel makes significant ones. This has been the banditry by which Israel’s norther border has been manipulated to be left in the control of Hezbollah for decades now, and even as this policy of duplicity and one sided concessions is once again being unveiled, Lebanon, meaning Hezbollah, will be once again incentivized for their lack of reciprocity to the deal by once again becoming the recipient of billions of dollars in foreign aid subsidies. Israel should have only one policy in the north, and that is to pursue its military objectives as needed to secure its border with the foreknowledge that neither treaties or allies will force Hezbollah to be other than what it is, a terror organization which manipulates Lebanon at will with the support and consignment of the international community towards the ultimate goal of eliminating the Jewish entity in the region which i Israel. This cycle of stupidity expecting different outcomes from the same inputs must end.

Hezbollah and its allies – Speaker Nabih Berri, former Minister Najib Mikati, and Hezbollah ministers in the previous cabinet – all signed the ceasefire agreement with Israel that ended the war and that stipulated that arms in Lebanon must be exclusively in the hands of six government military and security agencies. When this happens, according to the deal, Israel withdraws from Lebanese territories. Now Hezbollah is reneging on its ceasefire promise, moving the goalposts, and reversing the order by saying that Israeli withdrawal comes first, then it might consider disarming.
It has a long history of “revolving-door justice” in which extremists are arrested in front of television cameras … and then quietly released.

Eight weeks after the Palestinian Authority supposedly undertook a major anti-terrorist operation in Jenin and other cities, Israeli forces continue to capture terrorists, weapons and bomb-making equipment there. Janet Levy: We need to tell the truth about “aid” to Israel.
When U.S. officials talk about so-called “aid” to Israel, Americans need to understand that it is an investment with an unmatched ROI. Israelis build, test, modify and improve American weapons systems and supply some of the best intel in the world. Israel is NOT a drain on the U.S. budget as the value-added is nonpareil. There is NO comparison between the situation vis a vis Israel and the corruption and drain on American resources in Ukraine. THAT situation is NOT a win-win.
Peloni: Putin’s role in the Middle East was always intended to maintain stability, so Russia’s opposition to the destruction of Israel is not surprising, even as this remains an important statement by Putin. The corollary to his position on stability in the Middle East, however, would also maintain a resistance to the overthrow of the Mullahs, particularly as the resulting chaos could potentially result in another wave of immigrants toward Europe and Russia.

U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed that Iran should never be in a position to threaten or destroy Israel. The statement came during a two-and-a-half-hour call between the two leaders, during which they discussed a range of issues focused on global security and stability in the Middle East.
Peloni: This return to war in Gaza must be the last such occasion. The Gazans must be allowed to leave, and what remains of that terror enclave and its remaining adherents must finally be destroyed, utterly and completely. If war is to be engaged, it should be pursued with the demonstration of complete resolve, without any pause or distractions to the goal of ultimate victory.

Peloni: The timing of this epic failure on Ukraine’s part was significant, and with the war still not ended, the question remains whether Russia will next push on into Sumy or the other surrounding territories currently held by Ukraine… all while the Ukrainian rump continues on the road of being reduced with few exceptions.

If I heard and read right, the alleged leader of the antisemitic mobs at Columbia Mahmoud Khalil was born in Syria, holds an Algerian passport, and calls himself a “Palestinian.” Which is it?
Peloni: The encouraged influx of unvetted Arabs coinciding with rising waves of antisemitic demonstrations and terror throughout the Western world over the past decade has placed a growing onus on Western nations to provide for the security needs of there relative Jewish communities. Hence, it is very encouraging to read of such efforts as in Italy to secure and support their Jewish citizens at least with such security parameters as described by Rabbi Aiello which surround Italy’s synagogues. In an age where pogroms have been incited over a recent football match in Amsterdam, the threat of violence against Jews has become all too palpable and all too acceptable amid the rising Arab demographic, making the effort of Italy to deal with their rising antisemitic attacks all the more vital.

It was nearly a year and a half ago following the October 7 massacre, that Italy stepped up to the challenge and offered direct physical protection to its synagogues.
In fact The European Conservative (10/9/23) reported that following the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, several European countries have augmented police protection to Jewish communities and that Spain and Italy have now implemented a 24 hour armed police presence near their countries’ synagogues. Our synagogue, Ner Tamid del Sud, located in Calabria in Italy’s deep south is part of this program.
In other words, we Jews are fighting back.

Sitting here in Israel, I ask myself if this is the same Middle East it was before Oct. 7, 2023. Yes, the war that was waged on Israel on seven fronts continues into its 17th month, and at least 59 hostages are still not home with many no longer alive.
However, something else has changed.

It will of course be subjected to the wayward threat emanating from US courts which are preferring political bias rather than security and legal groundwork as the basis of their rulings, leaving an ever increasing reliance, dare I say dependence, upon the authority of the 9 members who make up SCOTUS, in preference to the chosen officials of the American people at large.
Peloni: So it took 60 days instead of 15 days as ordered by Trump for Gabbard and Bondi to release the long awaited documents on the Kennedy assassination. Notably, the final release of the JFK files took place almost a month after Bondi’s notorious release of previously released documents in the Binder fiasco on Feb 27, and even as they were released, redactions remained which took another day to have unredacted. It will be curious to see how long it will take for the files on RFK and MLK to be released, which should have been released more than two weeks ago per Trump’s instruction to have them released within 45 days. Curiously, the absurd delays on the release of these documents would seem to indicate a clear effort working at cross purposes to Trump’s orders, and on events which took place more than 6 decades ago.
