Unless you happened to catch the 30 second news item on May 22, 2006 on the more internationally-oriented networks such as the BBC or CNN, you probably don’t know or care that Podgorica is the capital of the newly proclaimed independent state of Montenegro. The country’s independence supporters gained a narrow 55% majority with the aid of many migrant voters returning from abroad and restored the map of the Balkans to more what it looked like in 1914.

The old “new” country currently has a total population of just over 620,000 and its independence deprived Serbia its access to the sea. At the end of the Balkan wars on the eve of World War I, the demand for a union of the Southern Slavs into one “Greater Serbia” (eventually to be called Yugoslavia) was the great cause of all those who set what came to be called “national self-determination” highest on the totem pole of human endeavor.

Peloni: Netanyahu spoke before a resoundingly supportive crowd, with half the Dems missing from the gallery.  Yet, his real audience was not the Dems and not the Reps.  It wasn’t Biden, and it wasn’t Trump.  It was the American people, and to them he provided a clear picture of what Israel has endured in this war and in the Simchat Torah Massacre.  He explained that this was a war between civilization and barbarism, and that the party responsible for this barbarism is Iran, a nation which is focused on the destruction of America as well as Israel.  He explained to the American people that the interests of America and that of Israel are aligned, and that a strong Israel provides for a strong America, and that providing Israel with the arms and means to face off the enemies of America in the region makes America safer and American involvement unnecessary.  This was the message which the terrified Dems dreaded being put before the American people as it will resonate with the American people, who still remains to be Israel’s true ally in the US.

Peloni:  Mike and Gadi explain the circumstances and pitfalls which Bibi will need to traverse in his trip to Washington, each with their own predictions as to what will be discussed in Bibi’s speech.  As they explain, the ultimate point which Bibi will be informing the American people mirrors closely the message he brought in his last address before Congress nearly a decade ago, namely that the threat from Iran is real and imminently focused upon America and American interests.  The administration has gone to great lengths to avoid this message being brought by Bibi, specifically because Bibi has the means and talent to describe this clearly to the American people.

Peloni:  Very good news from Jewish Insider.  I was quite disturbed upon first reading earlier today that Owens was to be among the headliners of the Trump fundraiser in question.  The openly antisemitc sentiments which she has advocated are iniquitously malicious, based upon vicious stereotypes and fed by ignorant historical revisionism.  I would like to believe that this will be the end of this story, but I rather suspect that Owen’s increasing obsession with the Jews is not a passing fad.  In any event, I could not be more pleased by this report.

There has never in all of recorded history existed an independent, sovereign Arab nation called Palestine. It is a fraudulent history of a fraudulent people in a fraudulent land.

The phrase “Two State Solution” has been embraced by politicians and journalists alike, repeated endlessly, and touted as the panacea for a “just and equitable” solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

It has assumed the repetitious role of a muezzin’s call to Islamic prayer. But it is based on erroneous geography and history, on a mixture of wishful thinking, naiveté and a brilliant Arab propaganda campaign of disinformation and falsehood. To understand why, it is necessary to learn a small but vital chapter of Middle Eastern history.
