“How horrible, fantastic, incredible it is that we should be digging trenches and trying on gas-masks here because of a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing!” Neville Chamberlain, British Prime Minister, BBC Broadcast September 27, 1938
” You were given the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour, and you will have war.”

Policymakers have been searching for the elusive “moderates” in the Iranian regime for decades. They’re like unicorns: much discussed but never discovered. We need to be clear-eyed about what this regime is all about: the destruction of everything we, as Americans, hold dear. Mike Pompeo, Former Director of CIA & Secretary of State, on X, April 17, 2026.
Peloni: While the US blockade on ships going to and coming from Iran is being maintained, it seems inexplicable that the US has failed to enforce a lockdown on the Iranian use of speed boats to harry the shipping lanes and thereby continue to enforce their own dominance over non-Iranian shipping. Trump stated previously that he has given instructions for the speed boats to be attacked, so why is it that no such actions were taken yesterday while Iran continued to utilize this modality to continue their piratical activities which are keeping shipping insurance high and providing Iran with illicit taxation revenue for shipping in the Gulf.

The Southern Poverty Law Center’s indictment.

Fourteen years ago, the Southern Poverty Law Center named me a hate group of one. The honor wasn’t mine alone, I shared it with a sign outside a bar and a brand of gun oil.
What was behind the SPLC’s sloppy hate group designation of one man, a bar sign and other random items was its obsession with manufacturing a constant rise in ‘hate groups.’

Marc Thiessen, fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and the former chief speechwriter for President George W. Bush, penned an important article for the Wall Street Journal in which he explains that the current U.S.–Iran standoff is at a critical breaking point. Instead of ceding further concessions to Iran, Thiessen explains that Trump should instead adopt an escalation strategy if Iran refuses to agree to U.S. terms.

Far too much attention has been given to President Donald Trump’s strategy in the current conflict, and far too little to that of the Islamic Republic.
Peloni:
This is an important article. As the US-Israeli campaign against Iran has exposed its terrorist regime as a paper tiger, Iran’s handlers in China were exposed as having limited control over the radicals within its regional proxy. The result of this limited control came in the form of China’s inability to protect the regional Sunni nations from Iranian attacks, even though these Arab nations had previously moved closer to China as a hedge against their relationship with the US. This failure has come to expose China as something of a paper superpower unable to even control its dominance over its Iranian ally. Consequently, China’s failure in this moment has seen significant diplomatic shifts towards the real superpower in the world, the United States, with very recently significant agreements from Indonesia and the Philippines with the US, moving them into America’s camp in the Great Game being played between China and the US. Recall the import of Indonesia vis a vis the Straits of Malacca which control the transit of maritime traffic approaching China, and the clarity of a US security coup becomes quite clear. These geopolitical shifts will act as the wind at Trump’s back as he is soon to meet Pres. Xi in just a couple of weeks as Xi’s remaining Middle East ally of Iran is facing economic and potentially regime collapse.

On Monday, China’s Xi Jinping let the mask slip.
After weeks remaining largely absent from the diplomatic picture as the US conducted Operation Epic Fury against Iran, Xi called Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman to publicly urge a peaceful reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Venezuela Precedent?
*A Venezuela type of regime change – whereby a second tier official/commander assumes power – would be impractical and self destructive in Iran, which has been ruled since February 1979 by the non-transactional, ideological Ayatollah regime, religiously-dedicated to bring “The Oppressive Great American Satan” to submission. All facets of the Ayatollah regime have been driven by a 1400-year-old fanatic and apocalyptic Twelver Shiite ideology, which transcends financial, diplomatic, political, military and greed considerations.
Peloni: As we are once again hearing talk about Iran preferring to hand its enriched uranium to a third party such as Russia, it should occur that they are simply trying to return to the failed JPCOA agreement of 2015 while pretending that we don’t know where this story might end, when in fact, we have been down this road once before. Iran must be made to relinquish its enriched uranium, or the responsible parties must go in and seize it. As Pres. Trump has noted many times, Iran can not be allowed to become a nuclear armed nation, and by playing this game of charades

According to the Wall Street Journal, in the Oman-mediated U.S.-Iran talks in Geneva today, February 17, 2026, Iranian officials signaled that they “might offer to pause uranium enrichment for up to three years” – that is, until the end of President Trump’s term of office – and that they might be willing to remove “some” of their enriched uranium stockpiles out of Iran to another country.

Ze’ev Jabotinsky wrote in 1923 that the Jew is a prince, regardless of circumstances—that Jewish dignity does not depend on the world’s recognition and that Jewish sovereignty does not require the world’s permission. A century later, the State of Israel proves his point.
Although nearly eight decades have passed since that war in 1948, there is still much to learn from it, not only as a glorious and heroic chapter in the history of the Jewish people and the State of Israel, but also, and above all, as a source of lessons and insights worth remembering and revisiting, which remain relevant today.

The 78th Independence Day, which Israel marks this week, is a good opportunity to return to our roots, to the foundations and sources, and above all to the starting point of our journey: the War of Independence, which broke out following the declaration of statehood on the fifth of Iyar, 5708. It was a fateful war, a war for survival, and our victory in it secured Israel’s future for many years.
Peloni: Make sure to share this video below with family and friends where Rabbi Pesach Wolicki describes the real motive behind the effort to denigrate President Trump’s opposition to Iran and to whitewash Rep. Elise Stephanik’s opposition to systemic university antisemitism. Media stunts to such as the one described below is neither inconsequential, nor is it arbitrary. The effort to preserve Iran as a nidus of the never ending conflict in the Middle East remains a focus of the MSM elites, and their Leftist/Communist/Islamist allies. The distraction provided by the media opposition are quite purposeful, and unfortunately potentially effective in changing the context and messaging about facts which should be easily agreed upon: Iran must not be allowed to be a nuclear terrorist nation, and institutionalized University antisemitism must be ended.

As I write, I am approaching the closure of Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day).
This is a day that merits great celebration. Incredibly, we are both 78 years young and 3,000 years old.
That festivities have been somewhat muted because of the war that still hangs over us diminishes the importance of this day not a whit.
