Come study in Israel, Universities here offer safe haven amid rising campus antisemitism – opinion

Peloni:  I recall Ted making a similar suggestion to that raised by Gilmore a little over a year ago following an article by Geoffrey Clarfield.  In that article, Clarfield called for Bar Ilan to establish branch campuses across the US to provide the American Jews an opportunity to gain a Zionist education which would be secure from violent bigotry and antisemitic indoctrination.  The counter suggestion of bringing young Diaspora Jews to study in Israel, as described in Gilmore’s article below, provides immensely important benefits which has been made even more essential with the antisemitic outrages raised against Jews on campuses all across the Diaspora in the months following October 7.  This being stated, I think it is important to note the point raised in Clarfield’s article that “Bar-Ilan University is the only Zionist university left in Israel.”  With this in mind, would it not be an even more powerful policy proposal that the Jews of the Diaspora coming to Israel should gain a Zionist education by attending Bar Ilan University?

Jewish students in Israel would experience an empowering Jewish and Israeli experience, deepen their knowledge of their roots, and strengthen their sense of belonging.

In a time of rising antisemitism and intensified threats to Jewish communities, the realization of our responsibility toward the Diaspora is a practical expression of the principle that all Jews are responsible for one another, as well as of the close bond between all segments of the Jewish people.

Obama-Biden Have Been Punishing Israel Since 2013

Joe Biden’s vicious betrayal of Israel has surprised and alienated some of his supporters, who thought he was a moderate Democrat.

In the most recent outrage, his administration sent condolences over the death of Iran’s President Raisi and joined the U.N. in a reverent minute of silence.  In stark contrast, Biden disparaged Prime Minister Netanyahu as “a bad f—— guy and “a-hole” at a time when Israelis were traumatized and fighting for their lives.

The Plan to Convict Trump

E. Rowell:  Regarding the Merchan trial, it is being presented as if Trump had an affair with a [formerly drugged up]porn star and paid money to hush it up.  First of all Stormy Daniels, Michael Cohen, and Michale Avenatti all have criminal records.  Stormy Daniels stated in writing five different times that she never had sex with Donald Trump.  She was having an affair with Michael Cohen.  Michael Avenatti, convinced Stormy Daniels that she did have an affair with Donald Trump and that she and Michael Cohen could make a lot of money blaming the affair on Trump.  Since none of these facts are covered in the news, this is not just lawfare in which the process is the punishment.  This is not just election interference.  This is Biden’s entire campaign.  No one but a crook could have come up with a campaign strategy built on the testimony of other crooks.

At last, we can see Alvin Bragg’s underlying criminal theory: he doesn’t have one. Bragg and Judge Merchan are running the real trial in the court of public opinion, not to deliver justice but to hurt Trump’s presidential campaign by branding him a convicted felon during the election. They seek to do this by lying to the jury — for example, by pretending to have a criminal theory.

Grandstanding to defy Israel

Ersatz recognition of a Palestinian state at war with Israel retards peace.

By  David M. Weinberg, ISRAEL HAYOM,      05-26-2024 12:16

Purportedly, Washington has sewn up a Saudi-Israel normalization deal, enabling the construction of a more potent regional coalition against Iran. All Israel must do is end its war against Hamas and offer a “credible pathway” to Palestinian statehood including Palestinian Authority governance in Gaza as an alternative to Hamas.

And then, presto, the Israeli hostages held by Hamas will be released, Hamas’ Nukhba terrorists will disappear never to fight another day, Palestinian terrorist strongholds in Jenin, and Nablus, and more will dissipate into thin air, Hezbollah’s Radwan forces will retreat from Israel’s northern border, the Houthis of Yemen will end their assault on global shipping lanes, and good old Yuletide cheer will wash over the Middle East.

Netanyahu: ‘War will not end until victory, we will not raise flag of surrender’

E. Rowell:  Israel is on the receiving end of a psychological war being waged to break Israeli determination in order that Hamas will live to attack Israel again.  This US plan for perpetual war in the Middle East has been ongoing since before 1979, in which Iran was to be empowered and Israel undermined, all while pretending to the world and the American public that the US and Israel had an “ironclad” alliance.  Look at the “alliance” when Israel decides to finally defeat Hamas.  The knives then come out against Israel.  There is only one statesman in Israel who can stand up to the hyenas of the world, salivating for Israel’s demise:  Bibi Netanyahu.

PM says in address before Knesset the claims he is not giving negotiating teams freedom to make a deal to free the hostages are false, warns pressure on govt. makes Sinwar harden his positions.

PM Netanyahu in the Knesset

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a speech in the Knesset this evening (Monday) in which he rejected the claims that he has not allowed the negotiating team sufficient freedom in the talks for a deal for the release of hostages.

“Regarding the despicable lie that I am not giving the negotiating team the mandate it requests, know that I have granted all five requests to expand the team’s mandate,” Netanyahu said.

Saudi Arabia removes anti-Israel material from schoolbooks

E. Rowell:  In life in general it is important to pay attention to what someone says and to what someone does.  It is a good sign when the words and music match.  However, when it comes to politics, paying attention to actions is often more useful than paying attention to words.

The move is “another step towards the transformation of a curriculum into an educational framework which encourages tolerance, peace and greater equality,” said IMPACT-se CEO Marcus Sheff.

Saudi Arabia has removed practically all antisemitism and anti-Israel material from its schoolbooks, in a major shift from the past and a harbinger of a better future, a study released Tuesday found.

Ukraine is Losing, and Direct Intervention by the West Risks a Nuclear Conflict – So What Now?

E. Rowell:  While this article might on its face be criticized as mere Russian state propaganda, it is difficult to argue with the author’s substantive points.  Numerous American and international analysts have written essays or contributed video analysis that document and support the thesis made by the author;  the US and NATO under Joe Biden’s leadership has been checkmated.

As it seeks to minimize its own risks, the US-led bloc is about to hit a dead end.

In our last article, we analyzed Kiev’s military prospects in light of its new mobilization law. Here we consider the West’s options in the proxy war it’s using the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to fight.

Western officials have been talking about sending troops to Ukraine since the beginning of the year. French President Emmanuel Macron said that he is ready to consider “any scenario,” including a ground operation. Government officials in Estonia and Lithuania (including Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte) were quick to support him. And the Leader of the House Democratic Caucus Hakeem Jeffries became the first US politician who didn’t exclude the possibility of sending troops.

The Politics of Joe Biden’s Fear

E. Rowell:  The US foreign policy establishment has enabled Iran to hold the US and the Middle East hostage since the Iranian Revolution, apart from the years during which Trump was President.  Biden’s protection of the Iranian Nuclear Program now is exactly what Obama’s goal was all along, to give the Iranians nuclear capability.  The “dialogue” was always for show.  For a US President like Biden to act or not act towards Iran based upon fear of retaliation implies that the US has helped create a monster it can no longer control.  The deeper goal all along was the destruction of the United States.

By Seth Mandel, COMMENTARY    27 May 2024

Usually when we talk about a campaign based on the politics of fear we mean the candidate is trying to scare the public into voting for him. “If you don’t vote for me, this will be America’s last election” etc. But with President Biden we’re seeing a campaign dominated by a different kind of fear: Joe Biden’s.

Egypt-Israel Tensions Rising as Egypt Refuses to Open Rafah Border to Palestinian Refugees

Beware the two-faced Egypt.

Christine Williams | Front Page | May 28, 2024

Pressure is building between Israel and Egypt over Palestinian refugees as Israel prepares its offensive on Rafah, where Hamas is hiding out and using human shields. According to an Atlantic Council report:

Relations between Egypt and Israel have soured in recent weeks as Israel prepares to launch a full-scale ground offensive into Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip—a move that Cairo has warned would put its peace treaty with Israel at risk and destabilize the region.

The ICC Ruling Against Israel is a Moral Atrocity | Caroline Glick In-Focus

Peloni: Another insightful analysis by Glick.  She highlights Nasrallah’s recent remarks which attributed the ICC’s arrest warrants for Israeli officials as being another hallmark obtained by the October 7 slaughter.  After briefly refencing the scandalous document released by Shikma Bressler in which it is disclosed that the protesters are working with the support of Biden and the ICC, Glick discusses polling data from both Israel and the US, indicating strong support for Bibi and Israel’s war against the terrorists.

Caroline Glick | JNS | May 27, 2024

The ICC immorally and illegally decided that Hamas and Israel are the same, leftist Israelis once again misread the Israeli public and a reservist soldier is arrested for wanting victory.

Trump tells donors he will crush pro-Palestinian protests if re-elected

Peloni:  Contrary to what is being reported here and elsewhere, Trump has always supported Israel’s war on terror and has been urging them on towards a quick victory.

Presumptive Republican nominee calls demonstrations against Israel’s war in Gaza part of a ‘radical revolution’

Robert Tait | Guardian | May 27, 2024

Donald Trump has told a group of wealthy donors that he will crush pro-Palestinian protests on university campuses if he is returned to the White House.

The former president and presumptive Republican nominee called the demonstrations against Israel’s war in Gaza part of a “radical revolution” and promised the predominantly Jewish donors that he would set the movement back 25 or 30 years if they helped him beat Joe Biden in November’s presidential election. Biden’s Abuse of the Judiciary Has Extended to Israel’s Prime Minister

Peloni:  This is essential reading as are the articles referenced by Regan.  Eerily, too many have expressed the motivation of the Dem support of Iran and its assets to be tied to either ignorant leadership or electoral calculations, but the truth is that the pivot towards Iran is in fact a fundamental policy shift which was interrupted by Trump but restarted almost the very moment Trump left the White House.  It is vital that people come to appreciate the fact that the sea change which accompanied the return of Obama’s retinue to power included the completion of his betrayal and abandonment of Israel, as we are currently witnessing in full effect.

By Lauri Regan | American Thinker | May 22, 2024

Every once in a while, there is a seminal article written that elucidates political calculations not obvious on their surface. In particular, foreign policy matters tend to be complicated to the point that most Americans focus little attention on understanding the motivations of presidents’ foreign policy decisions despite their broad national security implications.

One of the most important columns that comes to mind is Michael Doran’s brilliant essay from 2015 entitled Obama’s Secret Iran Strategy in which Doran explains Barack Obama’s motivation for empowering Iran as a regional hegemon at the expense of U.S. national security and regional alliances.

No, you are not going insane

E. Rowell:  That which emanates from the union between globalist elites who want to own the world and third world dictators is one source of animus towards Israel.  That which emanates from the United States results from over a century of Marxist cultural infiltration and subversion of every single institution in the country:  education, government, the military, the media, and the largest international corporations.  So when we feel overwhelmed with the degree of anti-Israel hatred from all these directions, that should not surprise us.  What is surprising is that there is still a majority of Americans who, despite all these subversive efforts, STILL SUPPORT ISRAEL and support Israel’s effort to win this war!

We are living through a moral apocalypse. Each day brings a new series of outrages against Israel. Staying sane in the face of lies and evil has become a full-time job. Fortunately, you are up to it.

The International Criminal Court (center) and the International Court of Justice, with the United Nations in the background.

The good news is that you are not crazy. You are not imagining things. The bad news is that the world is every bit as morally unhinged as it looks.

It is easy to think your mind is slipping when you read daily about a world where wrong is the norm, evil is venerated, racism is acceptable, terror is rewarded, and palpable lies are treated as truth. It is not you. It is the world.

Fear Trump—or Bust?

Trumpophobia (fright over Trump) is cresting with his polls.

As Trump continues to show leads in critical swing states, as various lawfare-inspired cases against him seem to the public to be more persecutions than prosecutions, and as Joe Biden appears daily more incoherent and lost, the left on spec has resorted to warning the nation about all the supposedly catastrophic consequences of a future Trump presidency.

Telegraph: Iran’s Regime on Brink of Collapse

E. Rowell:  From Amir Tsarfati’s Telegram channel on 20/5: “Intellitimes blog reveals that Iran fitted President Raisi with a government helicopter based on a military Bell 412EP equipped with 4 rotors, depending on the size and number of passengers in this version, but on the day of the crash it was observed with only two rotors, similar to the Bell 212, indicating a change which was made in a helicopter possibly because of shortage of original parts or a poorly made upgrade.  This means that the helicopter that was originally designed to carry 10 passengers using a propulsion force created by 4 rotors took off that morning, with 9 passengers, with propulsion power from only 2 rotors and in weather and wind conditions that did not match its original design.”
