Like everything that is “Palestinian,” the keffiyeh comes from somewhere else. Its name is derived from an Italian word, cuffia, or headdress. It originated among the Bedouins as a protection from the sun, and not just Palestinians, or Arabs in general, wear it; Kurds and Yazidis sometimes sport it as a non-political statement. Nevertheless, the close identification of this headdress with the Palestinian jihad against Israel has made it unmistakable: the keffiyeh is today what the broken cross of National Socialism was in the 1930s and 1940s. It is a symbol of an irrational and violent hatred of Jews, and a determination to destroy them.

Israel’s political landscape was rocked on Monday as National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir asserted that a policy shift now permits Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount/Al-Aqsa compound, one of the most contentious sites in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His controversial remarks, which included proposing the construction of a synagogue at the location, ignited a firestorm of criticism from both coalition allies and opposition figures, who cautioned about potential diplomatic fallout and security risks.

Ben-Gvir made the comments in a Monday morning interview on Army Radio, where he claimed a change in Temple Mount policy now allows Jewish prayer at the site. Ben-Gvir went further, stating, “I would establish a synagogue there.”

As pro-Hamas demonstrators burnt American and Israeli flags, called for Israel’s destruction and a global intifada President Biden told delegates at the DNC: “Those protesters out in the street, they have a point. A lot of innocent people are being killed on both sides.”

The people wearing Hamas headbands, waving Hezbollah flags, and screaming “intifada” have a point according to the President of the United States. That includes those people praising Hamas and calling for the destruction of Israel from the river to the sea.

Jewish Groups Take Matters Into Own Hands To Ensure Campus Safety

Hillel International and Secure Community Network announced on Thursday that they have launched a campaign to ensure safety on college campuses for Jewish students amid concerns about anti-Israel protests.

The two groups are working to protect Jewish students through their campaign “Operation SecureOurCampuses” by broadening resources, including assessing Jewish campus facilities and working with law enforcement, according to a press release obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. Anti-Israel protests took place across college campuses last school year, with many Jewish students and organizations feeling threatened by some of the protesters’ actions.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) expanded their push into the outskirts of Deir al-Balah, a key city in central Gaza. The operation is one of several that the IDF is undertaking in Gaza as it continues to confront various Hamas threats and attacks by other terror groups.

For example, on August 25, Hamas launched a rocket aimed at the Israeli city of Rishon LeTsiyon, one of several recent attempts by the group to use long-range rockets to threaten central Israel. Improvised explosive devices have also taken a toll on IDF forces in several areas in recent weeks, killing and wounding soldiers.

Not the hostages! Forget the so-called “hostage talks,” which are simply a mechanism for stretching out the war and increasing pressure on Israel. They are a sign of American desperation for a political victory. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to Egyptian sources, aims to “persuade both Hamas and Israel to embrace the American proposal without adding complications.”

Aside from the repugnant equation of “both” Hamas and Israel, “complications” are what are known as “war goals.” Israel had three at the outset: to secure the borders and the people of Israel; to uproot the Hamas military and governing capability in Gaza; and to get the hostages back. The first major Trump rally after the DNC convention featured RFK Jr as an answer to the Republicans who had come out for Kamala at the showcase event for her political campaign. Peloni:  It would take a certain form of insanity for Ukraine to attack a nuclear power plant which, if successful, would render the water flowing into Ukraine toxic.  This scenario would make more sense if those who made the decision to authorize the attack were in fact not concerned with the outcome of a successful attack, but that would mean the authorization came from some group other than Ukraine, which would hardly require a leap of logic to guess who that might be.  In any event, the use of one or four bombs to attack the plant seems obviously intended to be more of a threat than a serious undertaking, so perhaps the attack on the nuclear plant was intended to divert Russian assets away from the Ukrainians as they continue their raid…perphaps.

Ukraine has tried to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant reinforcing a theory that the Kursk offensive was aimed at creating significant havoc by either capturing or wrecking the Kursk NPP.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported a single suicide drone attack on the plant.  Russian President Vladimir Putin said that “The enemy tried to strike the Nuclear Power Plant … and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been informed, and they have promised to visit and send specialists to assess the situation.” The head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, said he plans to visit the plant during the week of August 26th.
