The Jerusalem Municipality has expedited the pace of house demolitions in East Jerusalem since the war began, with 140 homes demolished in 2023, marking a 60% increase from the preceding year.
Alongside these, 84 other structures, including shops and warehouses, were also demolished. This current approach diverges from past Gaza conflict periods, where authorities refrained from demolishing homes in East Jerusalem to prevent escalating security tensions in the city.

There have been an increasing number of Lebanese and international media reports in recent days and weeks about efforts to forge a diplomatic agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, spearheaded by the United States and France. This would ostensibly be done by pushing Hezbollah operatives back from the border with Israel by a distance of between five and ten kilometers.
E. Rowell: In this interview it becomes clear that staffers in the current Biden Administration function as Iranian agents. Their policy goals damage Israel’s legitimacy as a sovereign nation and her ability to protect her national security, while they empower Iranian hegemony over the Middle East. In addition, Israel’s current military leaders are so dependent upon the US, that they have been willing to jettison decisive victory against Hamas and Hezbollah in the vain hope of maintaining the US dependence that is now more millstone than support.

The chairman of the National Unity Party, Minister Benny Gantz, gave a statement on Wednesday afternoon in which he said that the war against Hamas in Gaza must not be stopped.
“The achievements of the IDF are increasing. Shaft after shaft, headquarters after headquarters. A large part of the Gaza Strip is not ruled by Hamas today. The public institutions were destroyed, it does not provide education or medical services except through international organizations. A Gazan citizen does not have a true governmental address,” Gantz said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers must remember that Israel is not an American vassal state.

(JNS) At his press conference Tuesday evening, U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken showed that contrary to popular belief, the Biden administration is not Israel’s ally. It is the greatest obstacle to Israel’s victory.
Blinken began his remarks by drawing a moral equivalence between the suffering of Israeli hostages and their families and that of the Palestinian Arabs in Gaza. The Palestinian Arabs in Gaza, who overwhelmingly support Hamas, are just as innocent as the hostages, Blinken insisted.
Peloni: The focus of the US led presence in the region is clearly not intended to deter Iran.
“The reluctance of the Biden administration to put U.S. carriers in the Gulf reflects the low priority deterring Iran is for Team Biden. A credible deterrent presence vis-à-vis Iran is the “hack” needed to lock the gates on regional escalation, and Biden isn’t putting the most obvious asset behind that. Instead, he’s got it hundreds of miles away, acting like an escort ship without the escort-ship agility and sea-combat superiority, while prevented by policy from doing what it was born for: mangling Houthi – or Iranian – stash ashore.”

It doesn’t help that the U.S. military chain of command was basically, as far as we can see right now, in Status Unknown around the New Year. It’s being reported that neither the National Security Council nor Congress was informed on New Year’s Day when Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was put in intensive care following an “elective procedure” performed sometime before (probably Christmas week). Austin was in the ICU for four days before the NSC was told.

An alarming increase in illegal Arab construction along the Judea and Samaria security barrier has come to light thanks to research by Israeli NGO Regavim.
Analyzing photography obtained through aerial reconnaissance, Regavim discovered tens of thousands of illegal structures built along the barrier, which runs roughly along the Green Line, the 1949 armistice line that followed Israel’s War of Independence.

A week after the horrors of October 7, when the Biden administration first convinced Israel to open up the siege of Gaza and allow in international aid, it promised Hamas would not get it.
“If Hamas in any way blocks humanitarian assistance from reaching civilians, including by seizing the aid itself, we’ll be the first to condemn it. And we will work to prevent it from happening again,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken pledged.
The former president seeks to shift the blame for the attack on Israel. He ought to look in the mirror.

Even Barack Obama supported Israel in dismantling Hamas, a senior Israeli official was eager to tell me early in the war. The former president said so in a 73-word statement on Oct. 9.
But on Oct. 23, in a 1,130-word statement, Mr. Obama called for Israeli restraint. Now, on the “Pod Save America” podcast, Mr. Obama counsels “an admission of complexity.” In a part of the interview released Saturday, Mr. Obama says: “What Hamas did was horrific and there’s no justification for it. And what is also true is that the occupation and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable.” To get to the full truth, “you then have to admit nobody’s hands are clean, that all of us are complicit to some degree.” He adds: “As hard as I tried—I have the scars to prove it—but there’s a part of me that’s still saying, ‘Well, was there something else I could have done?’ ”

Approximately 47% of younger Jewish voters, aged between 18-35, feel that President Joe Biden is overly supportive of Israel, according to the latest November 2023 National Survey of Jewish Voters, conducted by the Jewish Electorate Institute with GBAO Strategies. This contrasts sharply with the generally favorable view of the older Jewish electorate towards the President’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas.

Over the last 500 years, at least, the Gaza Strip has been a backwar. No one has ever truly invested in Gaza or the Gazans. For the last 100 years, Gaza and the Gazans have increasingly been used as pawns, by both the Arabs and the international community, in their efforts to vilify Israel and the Jews.
When push came to shove, the international community, led by the United Nations, preferred dead Gazans over losing leverage against Israel. Paradoxically and entirely contrary to common perception, Israel did more for the Gazans and the Gaza Strip than any of its many rulers, and had the international community not hated the Gazans so much, their situation today could have been drastically different.
