Peloni: The pejorative term ‘West Bank’ has been modeled around a false assertion that there is no association between these lands and either the Jewish State of Israel or the Jewish People when in fact the lands indicated by this malicious term are integral to the Jewish state, the Jewish people and their respective histories. A point which should be understood in all of this is the fact that prior to the Hashemite Kingdom having illegally seized the lands in Judea and Samaria during its illegal invasion in the 1948 War of Independence, what is now termed as “the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan” was actually known as ” the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan”.  Notably, it was only due to the illicit Hashemite conquest of the lands of Judea and Samaria from Israel which forced the Hashemites to rename their kingdom from “Transjordan” to “Jordan”.  The motivation for this renaming the entire country was hinged upon the truth which was revealed each time the “Kingdom of Transjordan” was spoken.  Indeed, the word Transjordan was taken from a long recognized cartographic description exclusively referencing the region of land on the far side, trans Jordan, ie East side of the Jordan river.  Hence, the name of the country Transjordan was evidence of both the fact that the Hashemites had no claim to the lands of Judea and Samaria, as well as the fabricated nature of renaming these conquered lands as the “West Bank”.  So apparent was the false connection between Jordan and its ill-gotten gains during the 1948 War that nearly no one on the international field recognized Jordan’s use of the term ‘West Bank’.  That is, until Israel liberated the indigenous lands of its forefathers in 1967, and a manufactured campaign was launched to imply that these lands held no connection to the Jews or the state of Israel, when the opposite was actually true going back three millennia.  So, as Hugh Fitzgerald explains below, these lands were ‘Judea and Samaria’ for 3,000 Years, but ‘West Bank’ for 19.

Peloni:  The degree to which the Western world specifically and earnestly turned its back on the Jews abandoned in the Shoah serves as an indictment of what the true meaning of liberalism means for Jews, and it should inform us as to the degree to which we might expect Western govts to react as Jews are now being openly targeted across the Western nations.  Indeed, it is remarkable that as we witness the slaughters such as took place at Bondi Beach, Golders Green and elsewhere, platitudes are being preferred in place of solutions to address the intentional spread of Islamic radicalism which is marking and marring the entire world on a growing basis, nearly by the day.  As was true in the 1940’s with Roosevelt, the hapless victims of the current campaign of Jew Hatred reshaping the West today could also have been saved, and yet, the future today for Jews around the Diaspora looks darker than ever.

Not surprisingly, the EU sanctions don’t impact any actual ‘violent settlers.’ Instead, they targeted law-abiding Jews and the organizations they run, all of them deeply involved in building and protecting Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Peloni:  This is an important video in which insightful conclusions are drawn by Rabbi Pesach Wolikci based on Gen. Jack Keane’s recent comments and ironically the statements being announced by an Iranian propaganda outlet.  Victory for Iran requires only that the regime should survive, while victory for America, the West and Israel requires nothing less than regime change.  Half measures, no matter the successes claimed by pursuing such short sighted goals, will only preserve the threat which brought about the war to be handed to successive generations which will likely be less inclined to deal with it.  In short, delay in any form presages an Iranian victory, not its defeat.

Peloni:  The war which was unleashed on October 7, 2023 was aimed at world Jewry, both those Jews inside Israel and those spread across the Diaspora.  During the course of these past nearly three years, we have all witnessed horrors which have caused us to seriously doubt the realities around us.  Of course, the source of stability in the Diaspora for Jews was always founded upon the equal application under the law, and while we Jews have been the target of the wave of antisemitism around the world, it has come at the cost of the application of democratic norms being cast aside in preference of the defense of radicalism and illiberality which if left unchecked will see the capitulation of any semblance of democracy values around the world with the isolation and targeting of Jews proving the long discussed metaphor of the Jews being the canary in the coalmine.  With the rapidly and nearly unopposed mobilization of violent antisemitic mobs around the world, the Golden Age of Jews, including in America where such a reality seemed impossible to contemplate, Jews have been placed under a state of siege, the ultimate cost of which are still yet to be decided.

European communities have been likely most affected with few having the capabilities with which to withstand such attacks.  In the believed to be enlightened and tolerant lands of Canada and Australia, the govts there have come to demonstrate a preference for defending Jew Hatred as something akin to a Human Right, even as Jews continue to be attacked with impunity and violence. American communities have greater capabilities than exist in these other nations due to their greater numbers as well as their successful local networking, so the open embrace and toleration for Jew Hatred there came as a greater shock.  Importantly, the thus far reluctance to ban the Muslim Brotherhood at the federal level looms large in grasping any rational for such tolerance of intolerance in what was once known to us all as the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.  Also, recent moves by Florida and Texas to support such bans still seem to be poorly enforced months after the state bans were first announced, with recent reports questioning if there is any real intent on seeing the Islamic radicals in America opposed at any level.  The image of antisemitic Squad in Congress alongside the antisemitic faux MAGA podcasters led by Tucker Carlson are both enforced by the recent election of an antisemitic NYC mayor where the largest concentration of Jews in America resides. And so, yes, as Steve Kramer asserts below, the tide is turning fast for Jewish communities, and faster for some than others.  We will see what success might be won for those communities in America from which the tide might be pushed back, but for many communities, such an outcome might seem as lost as the hope to see the Jewish communities across Arabia returned to their former state of existence and stability over the millennia.

The resilience of Israelis is well known and it is proven by the fact that our country still functions on a high level even in this period. The Israeli shekel is extremely strong, Israel’s stock market is outpacing the NYSE and Nasdaq, and innovative new companies continue to develop. While all this is happening, the toll on families, which include reservists in the IDF, are paying a high price, in deaths, injuries, and financial distress.

Peloni:  An important caveat to Sinan Ciddi’s insightful analysis below, Turkey’s interests in preserving such destabilizing factors as the regime in Iran adds to the value  of its Middle Corridor at the cost of the IMEC, and its continuing expansionist goals accentuate the basis by which it can force its dominance in this trade route competition without the need to accually compete.  For these reasons, and many others, the US Turkey strategy which promotes Turkey’s domineering role in the region deserves a serious reconsideration.
