For most of the 20th century, Sweden was held up as the very model of a modern welfare state: prosperous and peaceful, a example of social cohesion that was the product not of “diversity,” but of the very lack of “diversity.” That homogeneous Sweden is no longer. On Monday morning, the Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria, under the auspices of the Defense Ministry, uprooted a vineyard near the Yitzhar community in Samaria, following a petition submitted by PA Arabs to Israel’s High Court of Justice, Regavim reported.

The petitioners did not provide a smidgen of proof of ownership of the land on which the vineyard had been planted some four years ago, and yet the vineyard’s Jewish owners were handed a “Disruptive Land-Use Order,” a unique military order permitting the removal of agricultural assets even when no conflicting claim of ownership is submitted or proven.

Forget for a second the long-term significance and potential ramifications of the latest UN move to refer Israel’s “occupation, settlement and annexation of Palestinian territory” to the International Court of Justice for an advisory opinion.

It was clear once the resolution was brought to the UN it would pass, the only question was by how large a margin. For most people, all of these anti-Israel resolutions, after a while, seem the same and fade into the generic haze of “the UN is against us.”

Russia has said that 63 of its troops were killed during a Ukrainian New Year’s Eve attack on a makeshift barracks in the partly-occupied Donetsk region.

The ministry said in a statement on Monday that Ukraine’s military had launched six projectiles at the “provisional base” in the eastern city of Makiivka using the HIMARS guided rocket system supplied by the United States.

T. Belman. In addition to these two challenges, this government is committed to seizing Area C for Israel  which includes massive building there and destroying illegal Arab construction.

Although Bibi has a veto on some of Smotrich’s plans, he won’t be able to restrain him entirely. It remains to be seen to what extent Bibi restrains himself or Smotrich for that matter.

In order to stop Iran, and on the way make peace with Saudi Arabia, Netanyahu may have to wait out President Biden’s administration.

Distrust in the justice system over its refusal to stop voter disenfranchisement is spiraling after Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson dismissed Kari Lake’s lawsuit challenging the results of Arizona’s botched midterm election, where Democrat Katie Hobbs was declared the winner. Hobbs was losing in almost every MSM poll and didn’t bother to debate Lake, prompting one of the most prominent progressive journalists in the state to denounce her hiding in her basement as “political malpractice.” Hobbs was such an unremarkable candidate that she has only 177k Twitter followers to Lake’s 834k followers, over 400% fewer.

After a series of American objections to Israeli policies (culminating in the annexation of the Golan Heights more than forty years ago) led to protests and suspensions of signed agreements with Israel, Prime Minister Menahem Begin called in US Ambassador Samuel Lewis and gave him a tongue-lashing:

“Are we a vassal state? Are we a banana republic? Are we 14-year-old boys who have to have knuckles slapped if they misbehave?” And Mr. Begin continued: “You cannot and will not frighten us with punishments… Threats will fall on deaf ears… We shall not allow a sword of Damocles to hang over our heads. The People of Israel have lived for 3,700 years without a strategic agreement with America, and will continue to live without it for another 3,700 years.”\

On 18 November 2022, Jordan’s king’s son and Crown Prince, Hussein, paid a visit to the wake of Abdul Majeed Thunibat, former leader of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood.  The visit was highly publicized by the state-controlled Jordanian media. The story about the visit of condolences was a front page item in most Jordanian daily papers and on all Jordanian news sites.  The king and his son were shoving the visit in everyone’s faces.
