Walter Russell Mead on The Arc of a Covenant : ZIONISM

THIS COMES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
UNFORTUNATELY, MEAD IS A TWO-STATER.

“Few of America’s foreign relations are as internationally controversial and internally contentious as our close relationship with Israel. That relationship has long been under intense criticism, and its true history has been obscured by rhetoric. Fortunately, Walter Russell Mead of the Hudson Institute offers a new perspective on this contested subject in The Arc of a Covenant: The United States, Israel, and the Fate of the Jewish People (Knopf, 2022). Seeking out the truth, Mr. Mead challenges both pro-Zionist and anti-Zionist narratives to shed light on the complicated origins of a now-divisive issue.”

Otzma Yehuda MK Gives Defiant Interview to British TV

T. Belman. Its time to end proportionality. We must use as much force as is necessary to bring peace to the land. In other words, zero tolerance for terrorism. No more pussy-footing around. Our words must be as bold as our action.

Zvika Fogel from Itamar Ben-Gvir’s extremist party says that Israel is ‘too merciful’ to the Palestinians, and that such an approach must change

Haaretz

Far-right Israeli lawmaker Zvika Fogel expressed his desire to scrap the concept of proportionality in an interview with British broadcaster Channel 4, saying that “if it is one Israeli mother crying, or a thousand Palestinian mothers crying, then a thousand Palestinian mothers will cry.”

Israel’s incoming national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, is planning to shift a considerable number of Border Police companies from the West Bank to the Negev to “strengthen governance in the south,” as the far-right leader of the Otzma Yehudit party, described it.

This is according to former senior law enforcement officials with whom he conferred recently. That would leave only a limited Border Police presence in the West Bank.

Iran: Protests and Paralysis

by Amir Taheri, GATESTONE  •  December 11, 2022

The failure of Iran’s rulers to develop a coherent narrative, let alone a strategy to deal with what looks like an existential crisis for the regime, has led to a chaotic response to the popular uprising. • The failure of the Khomeinist clique to develop a coherent narrative, let alone a strategy to deal with what looks like an existential crisis for the regime, has led to a chaotic response to the popular uprising. According to semi-official figures, between 300 and 500 protesters have been killed by the security forces and more than 15,000 jailed. By the time of this writing, four executions have also been officially reported.
  • But when you break down those figures, a curious pattern emerges.

  • The January 28, 2021 appointment as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Israeli and Palestinian Affairs of Hady Amr, a man who wrote “I was inspired by the Palestinian intifada” and who falsely accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing,” was a significant step that promised the worst.
  • Two days before that, the Biden administration not only restored relations with the Palestinian Authority, but resumed most of the financial aid that had been suspended by the Trump administration — but they failed to ask the Palestinian leaders to stop financing and supporting terrorism.

Note to Newt (Part I): Uninventing Palestinians

The Palestinians aspiration is not to establish a state of their own but to dismantle a state of others

DECEMBER 16, 2011

Newt Gingrich 311 (R)

I think there is an Arab nation. I do not think there is a Palestinian nation. I think it’s a colonialist invention… When were there any Palestinians? …until the 19th century Palestine was the south of greater Syria. – Azmi Bishara, 1994

I think we’ve had an invented Palestinian people who are in fact Arabs, and who were historically part of the Arab community. – Newt Gingrich, 2011

Newt Gingrich is to be warmly commended on his recent statement underscoring the lack of authenticity of Palestinian nationality.

Organized crime in Israel: ’85 percent of Israel’s building contractors pay protection’

“When someone opens a store, he gets a visit warning him of the danger of fires, along with the local boss’ calling card.”

Meir Deutsch of RegavimIsrael National News

Speaking at a real estate conference in Eilat, Meir Deutsch, director of the Regavim organization, discussed the phenomenon of paying protection money to criminal groups in Israel, and the effect this is having on society in general.

“This is a problem that is entirely different from how people envision it,” Deutsch told Israel National News. “It has reached the stage where it threatens the personal security of regular Israeli citizens, and I don’t mean just in the Negev. 85 percent of Israel’s building contractors across the country are paying protection money. This drives house prices up, and it also affects agriculture, businesses, and service providers.

The number of appeals for help we’re receiving has gone up by dozens of percent recently,” he says.

Maricopa or Die

By Jack Gleason, AM THINKER

It’s been a month since the November elections, and it’s obvious that serious irregularities exist in our voting systems.  Unless they are exposed and fixed, our country will have been taken over by our internal and external enemies, and we will never recover.

All of the efforts to fight back against the fraud nationwide have been unsuccessful except for in Maricopa County, Arizona. Kari Lake, the gubernatorial candidate, is still fighting — filing lawsuit after lawsuit in an effort to overturn the “results” in her campaign, where the current secretary of state in charge of the election, Katie Hobbs, was her opponent.  Hobbs wouldn’t recuse herself despite the fact that she would be overseeing her own election.  Unbelievable!  When outrageous election problems caused some counties to withhold their vote certifications, Hobbs threatened them with class 6 felonies.

Blacks should learn from Jews, not hate them

By Joan Swirsky, RENEW AMERICA December 9, 2022

[…]

Why? “Because when you admire someone and you want to be like them,” Steve told me, “You study what they do, how they act, what they say. You try to find out what the secrets of their success are, with the goal of achieving what they’ve achieved, or at least coming close. And that goes for farmers or hedge-fund managers, ballerinas, or composers, or astronauts, rich or poor, black or white…that goes for everyone!”

Herzog grants Netanyahu 10 more days to form coalition, adds a warning

T. Belman. Bibi’s partners have asked for certain legislation to be passed before the new government is formed. The opposition intends to slow walk the legislation and obstruct.  Then Herzog piles on by giving Bibi only a 10 day extension rather than the usual 14 days.  Even so, Bibi will get it done.

Herzog didn’t leave it at that but when on to lecture Bibi on what he must do like “the coalition being formed must maintain a respectful and responsible dialogue between the authorities—executive, legislature, and judiciary.” and “must preserve the powerful bond with the Jewish Diaspora,”

Seems to me like he is overstepping his role .which is that “of a non-partisan head of state who represents the country and the people as a whole, at home and abroad”

Likud leader now has until December 21 to finalize his right, far-right, ultra-Orthodox  coalition; It ‘must work for the entire public,’ maintain bond with Diaspora, says president

By TOI STAFF      9 December 2022, 3:21 pm

President Isaac Herzog on Friday granted Likud leader and Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu 10 additional days to finish forming a government, while indicating concern that the coalition Netanyahu is assembling — set to be the most right-wing in Israeli history — could potentially damage Israel’s democratic checks and balances, breach the spirit of the Declaration of Independence and alienate Jews overseas.

World Cup Showcases Qatari Hostility to Israel — A Festival of Hatred

by Hussein Aboubakr Mansour, EMET

Even though neither Israel nor Palestine is playing in the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar, Israeli fans and reporters were met with a climate of hostility and anger that forced many of them to return to Israel. While not covered in the Western media, nearly all Israeli reporters and journalists were the subject of public humiliation, hostility, and threats. Those who have been following the story got a rare glimpse of the Israeli reality of living amidst a sea of absolute rejection and hostility.
