Only 4 weeks remain until the end of the Knesset’s winter session, which is also the deadline for the passing of the first two amendments of Justice Minister Yariv Levin’s judicial reform: changing the composition of the committee to elect judges, and preventing the High Court from revoking constitutional laws.

Ever since it has been found that Iran can rich uranium to 84% the world has been trying to find a way to contain their march forward to a nuclear weapon.
According to the IAEA, Iran has the right to defend itself from attack. While in Iran IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said, “Any military attack on a nuclear facility is outlawed, is out of the normative structures that we all abide by.”

On Mar 5, 2023, Arutz 7 reported “An US official quoted by Channel 12 News said on Saturday night that the administration is considering preventing Minister Bezalel Smotrich from entering the United States, following his comments that the Arab village of Huwara should be “wiped out”. The official said that it would be better for Smotrich to announce of his own accord that he is canceling the visit, and “save himself the embarrassment, since all Biden administration officials refused to meet with him anyway.”

During Roman times Jews made up 10% of the population of the Roman Empire. Today, there should be 200 million Jews. There are only 15 million in a world of 8 billion: There are 2 billion Muslims, 2 billion Christians and Catholics.
Why is that?
Could it be innate, systemic endemic Jew hatred?
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded Sunday morning to the claims of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant that he will not speak with Ben-Gvir after the content of their previous conversations were leaked to the media.
“Gallant does not answer calls. He chooses to ignoe the senior partners in the coalition. It’s the same with the evacuation of the outpost [which was erected] in memory of Rabbi Druckman, the same with regard to the evacuation of the vineyard [in the Shiloh Valley], the same with regard to the fact that I contacted him about the fact that every night there are thousands of gunshots in Hebron, the same with the evacuation of the settlement of Evyatar and the same regarding the administrative detainees,” Ben-Gvir claimed.
Is the current Israeli government truly on the verge of an authoritarian turn? No, of course not. The mass protests and over-the-top rhetoric from Israel’s domestic opposition, Joe Biden’s warnings that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reform agenda will curtail minority rights, gleeful announcements by the U.S. ambassador about his right to interfere in domestic Israeli politics, group letters from 50 former commandos and 75 economists who all oppose judicial reform, the financing of Palestinian groups with terror links, public harassment of Netanyahu’s wife: These are among the details of a single blueprint. The fact that this blueprint is designed in Washington, D.C., gives courage and direction to the demonstrators acting out their color revolution fantasies on the ground in Tel Aviv. And it’s evidence that Bibi is in Washington’s crosshairs, for regime change has come to Israel.
Israelis just can’t stop doing good. This week’s life-enhancing medical advances include discoveries to prevent the brain from stopping prematurely, due to Alzheimer’s or cancer. They include a medication that cannot be stopped by the skin, and systems that ensure the elderly won’t stop enjoying life in their own home. There are devices that mean you no longer need to stop off at a dentist or an eye specialist for a check-up. And Israel’s medical teams certainly haven’t stopped saving lives in Turkey and Ukraine.
As American Jews committed to Israel’s future as a secure, Jewish, and democratic state; to a robust U.S.-Israel relationship; and to Jewish peoplehood that fully encompasses Israeli and Diaspora Jewish communities, we are opposed to Bezalel Smotrich visiting the United States later this month in his capacity as Israel’s finance minister, and we call on all pro-Israel Americans to understand that welcoming Smotrich here will harm, rather than help, support for Israel.

Israel achieved democracy the hard way. A precursor was that one-third of all Jews were murdered in Europe in the 1930s-1940s and about 140,000 thousands survivors immigrated to Israel after its independence in 1948, after being kept in Displaced Persons camps (often former concentration camps!). 800,000 Jews were forced from their homes in Arab countries of North Africa and East Asia before and after Israel’s statehood and about three-quarters of them also made Aliyah. In addition, more than 50,000 Holocaust survivors left British internment camps in Cyprus – after being interned for the crime of fleeing Europe – to join the nascent Jewish state.

T. Belman. Haskel, and National Unity, are to be commended for their reasonable stand. They are only asking for a week or two. If they can agree to a deal, leaving Yesh Atid in the dust, that will be good for the country. But why haven’t they made a proposal so that the prospects of a deal can be evaluated. Democracy doesn’t demand that the legislative process be stopped, just the opposite.
I suggest they make a proposal in writing. If the government thinks it has merit then and only then can it suspend the process for a week or two.

T. Belman. Neither of these steps will deter Israel. Even if Biden chooses to not veto an anti-Israel UNSC resolution as Obama did, Israel will not be deterred from its agenda. Passing Judicial Reform and keeping J&S are way too important.

(JNS) The huge demonstrations that continue in Israel and turned violent this week are fueled by the claim that the government’s judicial reform package spells the end of Israeli democracy.
It is, of course, beyond nonsensical to try to bring down a democratically elected government with calls for “bloodshed on the streets” and “civil war” on the basis that—according to the organizers of Wednesday’s “day of disruption”—the government is a “regime” attempting a “coup” against democracy.
