Judge Robert Bork, once said about former Israeli Supreme Court Chief Justice Aharon Barak:

“… Barak’s court can turn ordinary legislation into a constitution, force it on the nation, and then announce that it can prevent any democratic amendment. In this, Barak surely establishes a world record for judicial hubris.”

With the start of “Pride Month,” various government offices have set their social media profile pictures to be rainbow flags, rainbow-themed, or rainbow-tinted.

Among the ministries to make the change are the Foreign Ministry, led by Minister Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid), and the Health Ministry, led by Minister Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz), who is gay.

The Los Angeles-based Brentwood School called the allegations of anti-Semitic teaching ‘a work of whole fiction’

A Los Angeles area private school is being sued by a father of a student who attended the school, claiming that it treats Jewish people as “oppressors” and operates under a “racially divisive, anti-Semitic” ideology.

The lawsuit, filed by Jerome Eisenberg in Los Angeles court, alleges that the head of Brentwood School, Michael Riera, pulled a “bait-and-switch with the school’s curriculum and culture” after accepting parents’ tuition payments. Eisenberg alleges in the lawsuit that Riera and Brentwood School have a “scheme to transform the school under a racially divisive, anti-Semitic ideology that seeks to indoctrinate children to reject Western values.”

The Israeli Ministery of Defense (IMOD) OFEK program (Horizon in Hebrew, often referred to as OFEQ) will be awarded the prestigious ‘Israel’s Defense Prize for 2022? for the group’s achievements that jointly developed, produced, and deployed Israel’s most advanced observation satellite – OFEK-16. The award will be given in a ceremony to be held on 14 June at the residence of the President of Israel, Mr. Itzhak Herzog. The program is led by the Space directorate at the Directorate of Defense Research & Development (DDR&D) of the Israeli Defense Ministry (IMOD), with IAI as the prime contractor and Elbit Systems as the payload provider.

Israel’s most advanced electro-optical observation satellite, OFEK-16, was launched into space on 6 July 2020, equipped with a new, high-performance space camera developed and manufactured by Elbit Systems. In August 2020, the IMOD released the first high-resolution images from the satellite, showing the Tadmor world heritage site in Syria. On this occasion, IMOD also unveiled the national infrastructure for the production of space cameras, a joint project of the IMOD and Elbit Systems. The national infrastructure includes laboratories for the production of advanced space-qualified optical instruments and a vacuum chamber that simulates the conditions in space and is used to test the satellite camera before it is launched for its mission in space.

T. Belman. Why resort to a temporary law needing renewal every 5 years. Instead extend sovereignty outright to all of Area C or at least the settlements and the Jordan Valley. The only problem is that Likud would rather bring down the coalition rather than vote for sovereignty. After they succeed in bringing down the government they can always pass the sovereignty law in three months.

Deputy Minister Abir Kara (Yamina) on Friday commented on the political crisis in an interview with Channel 12 News, and said that he had spoken with MK Nir Orbach, who is contemplating his next move after receiving an offer with the Likud.

With the Conservative Party in crisis and the “red wall” northern constituencies reportedly ending their brief love affair with the Tories, the Labour Party is said to be back in the political game after its near-death experience under Jeremy Corbyn.

Everyone apart from Boris Johnson appears to believe that, unless the Conservative Party changes course, Labour’s current leader Sir Keir Starmer has a good chance of becoming prime minister at the next general election.

An American friend writes me that conditions in her country could not be worse. The good are increasingly persecuted and abused by the bad and the ugly. I reply that, yes, Americans think they have it bad — and they do. But if they want to see how far and fast the dregs of the so-called “social order” can rise to the top and the best sink to the bottom, I invite them to visit Canada.

Of course, we all suffer from the same derecho of adversarial forces: Big Government, Big Tech, Big Pharma, and Big Media, as well as myopic and corrupt leadership at every level. But in Canada, there are no provinces (with the partial and insecure exception of Saskatchewan) analogous to the “red states” in the U.S. where sanity and liberty yet prevail and government answers to the people. Residents of “blue states” can decamp for “fresh woods and pastures new,” but we have no such option.

Very quickly, around a month after I completed the officers’ training course, I found myself leading dozens of soldiers into Lebanon, in what was called at the time Operation Peace for Galilee. I spent a year and a half in the Land of the Cedars – from the Ayun Valley to Ain Zhalta, and the hills overlooking Beirut to Lake Qaraoun. I rained countless shells on the enemy; I was showered with candies by the joyous Christians and Druze. I guarded the peace talks between Israel and Lebanon, which resulted in an “Abraham Accord” of sorts.

A group of bipartisan US lawmakers from both houses of Congress introduced legislation on Thursday aimed at integrating the air defense systems of Israel and neighboring Arab states.

Motivations include bolstering defense cooperation between Israel and Arab nations and thwarting threats from Iran and its proxies, the Haaretz newspaper reported.
