Rising anti-Hezbollah voices in Lebanon hope to break Iranian proxy’s power

Peloni:  The sentiments voiced by these brave activists in Lebanon are encouraging, but the simple reality is that Iran will fund and arm Hezbollah so long as the Iranian regime remains in power in Tehran, and so long as Hezbollah is funded and armed, the voices of Hezbollah allies such as the Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, will dwarf the relevance of the Lebanese people who object to being a captured vassal to Iran.  It will literally take a civil war to rid the Iranian control over Lebanon, and though the people may have a growing distaste for Iranian rule, the truth is that the Lebanese have thus far demonstrated a lack of interest in committing to doing the heavy lifting of freeing themselves from the tyranny which serves to disenfranchise their rights to sovereignty.  If the Lebanese people want to be a free people, they will have to fight for this privilege, and if regime change in Iran is not pursued, it remains highly questionable if such a fight might be successful.  When Washington’s policy of pursuing regime change in Iran was dropped, it left the people of Iran, the people of Lebanon, and the people of the region at large, in a position of capture by the menacing radical Shia ideology which has held an ever strengthening grip over the region since 1979.  The Mullahs and the IRGC must fall, and until they do, talk about Lebanese freedom, even by the Lebanese themselves, will remain nothing more than talk.

Can tide turn enough despite terror groups’s influence in Lebanon?

Voices of opposition to and outright disdain for Hezbollah in Lebanon have been amplified more than ever, with many politicians and activists publicly supporting the agreement with Israel as a last-ditch effort to save the country.

Urban Warfare Project Podcast: Underground Warfare Reimagined

Peloni:  A couple of points rise to the top of this fascinating conversation between Urban Warfare Expert John Spencer and Asher Katz, cofounder and CEO and of Traysar Industries and a former member of the Israel Defense Forces’ elite Yahalom unit.  The first is that the Iranians and their counterparts have spent years developing their networks of tunnels and underground cities and infrastructure as a basis by which they can actually stifle Western warfare efforts.  By recognizing the limitations of Western endurance capacities, the underground infrastructure provides the Iranians the means by which to simply hide out while the West simultaneously expends its military ordinance capabilities and political interests in pursuing any military achievements.  Much as the Arabs used the desert as the means of retreat from harm, the underground facilities provide Iran and its proxies with a strategic advantage which had upto this point been understood in the West to be a logistical hedge.

The second aspect of underground warfare which stands out in this conversation is the dual aspect challenges which accompanies underground fighting.  Not only are soldiers faced with the the challenges of tracking, isolating and eliminating enemy forces, but the actual subterranean terrain is an additional component which must simultaneously be overcome.

| 07.03.26

For decades, underground warfare was viewed as a niche military problem. Today, it has become a defining feature of modern conflict.

The latest on a long list of problems the American VP has with both Jews and Israel is described below and involved his confrontation with some Israeli cabinet members who refused to bend down and kiss his derrière regarding the various conflicts their beleaguered nation, by no choice of its own, is forced to fight merely to prevent its own innocents from being slaughtered…

Israel and Greece ‘on alert’ after Trump’s $700,000,000 sale of F-35’s to Turkey; efforts underway to block sale

Peloni:  This will have a permanent effect of diminishing Israeli dominance in the region at the expense of promoting Turkey ever higher over the region. Why is the Trump administration so motivated to purposefully empower the Muslim Brotherhood led Turkey to such a position of influence in the region?

Jihad Watch reported that “Both Republicans and Democrats oppose Trump’s mad plan to sell F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.” According to YNet News…

Israel and Greece have consistently opposed the possibility of Turkey acquiring the stealth fighters, arguing that such a move would harm their technological edge and alter the regional balance of power. Greece has already ordered F-35s, while the Israeli Air Force operates a unique version of the aircraft, which has taken part in operations in Lebanon, Syria and Iran.

The Two-Tiered Justice System That Is Tearing Israel Apart

Peloni:  The more that Judicial Reform is blocked, the greater the support for its passage becomes, specifically because of the public recognition of this need only grows stronger with each passing day and each subsequent ruling based on arbitrary standards and the promotion of anti-Israel positions from the courts.  There can only be one standard of justice in any democratic govt, and yet, in the only democracy in the Middle East, a two-tiered policy is weaponized to promote one standard which maintains the influence and agenda of the Leftist bureaucracy.

While left-wing Kaplan protesters blocked major highways night after night for hours on end in the judicial reform protests, bringing life in Israel to a standstill, the police often stood by, sometimes even joining them. Leaders of those protests faced no serious consequences, even after burning tires in the middle of major highways. Violence during those daily blockades? Rarely punished. The message was loud and clear: certain protests are protected.

IDSF: Hamas Commanders in Turkey: NATO Ally Waging War on Israel

Peloni:  Misgav Institute’s Noa Lazimi provides context for the ever deteriorating situation between Israel and Turkey.  It is notable that Mike Doran of the Hoover Institute challenged that the greatest dilemma for Trump’s policies in the Middle East was to help mollify if not improve the relationship between Israel and Turkey.  Instead, Trump’s policies of promoting Turkey and expanding its dominance in the region has been the harbinger of the collapsing situation between these two nations.

‘No place for UNRWA in new Gaza,’ declares Board of Peace as ‘technocratic’ gov’t touts postwar plans

Peloni:  A single point of hope stemming from the ignominious 20 Point Plan which was to see the security threat from Gaza permanently neutralized. Balancing the elimination of UNWRA in Gaza while preventing the elimination of Hamas and its control in Gaza fundamentally distorts the provisions of Trump’s infamous 20 Point Plan in a way which entirely ignores Israel security needs.  Hamas must be destroyed, and UNWRA must be dismantled everywhere, not just in Gaza.

Amid criticism across the Arab world—particularly in the Gulf states—of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) recently signed by the U.S. and Iran to end the war,[1] and against the backdrop of concerns over potential Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz,[2] Qatar, which played a role in drafting the MOU, is expressing satisfaction with the agreement and portraying it as a clear victory for Iran and defeat and humiliation for the U.S.

US and Saudis reportedly at odds over Hormuz security

Peloni:  The Saudis refuse to accept that they no longer control Washington policy as significantly as it once did.  The real dynamic which must be considered is to what degree Washington is being manipulated towards empowering Turkey against the interests of all others.  The real concern for Israel and the Saudis both will be in the context of what terms Trump will pursue in making the peace once the war with Iran is finally ended.  It seems that Turkey is routinely the winner of Trump’s Middle East policies, no matter the context, and with Trump advancing the Turkish sycophant Tom Barrack with ever greater authority in his administration, it is little mystery why that is so.

Israel Update: Can Israel Save The US From Its Mistakes?

Peloni:  Guest host Dan Shueftan** joins Gadi Taub discuss the Lebanon Deal in light of the MOU.  Their conversation leads to the conclusion that history offers a clear lesson: when the West mistakes ideological radicalism for ordinary statecraft, deterrence gives way to appeasement, and the costs in the region only grows. Their discussion covers a sweeping review of the history of American policy which has too often repeated the same strategic errors with the same conclusion: Israel’s security is dependent upon resisting these errors rather than accommodating them.

Learning the Lessons of “Total Victory”

Nitzan Alon’s Attack on “Total Victory” Exposes the Left’s Defeatist Mentality – While Gal Hirsch Delivered Results

Almost three years into this grueling war, with our Iranian backed enemies devastated on every front, all the hostages miraculously returned home and rebuilding their lives, the political left in Israel refuses to give Prime Minister Netanyahu even a shred of recognition for these historic achievements—instead, they attack him with conscious, vicious, visceral hatred, as I personally witnessed last night when crowds booed him at the Maccabiah Games opening ceremony.
