Israel’s Demographic Success

MOSAIC

Israel and Worldwide Fertility Trends

In one sense, perhaps, the doomsayers could be forgiven—at least if one were to ignore the often transparently political motives behind their predictions. After all, modern society is indeed characterized by a trend of declining fertility rates. Even many poor and only partly modernized societies exhibit such a decline. But it is particularly marked in developed countries, where rising education and income levels correlate with a fertility rate that has often plunged to, or beyond, the level at which the population will shrink unless augmented by immigration. That level—the average “replacement rate” of 2.1 children per woman over the length of her childbearing years—has been effectively forgone by most economically developed countries.

RFK Jr: This Is The Hill To Die On, They’re Coming For Our Children

By

The Biden administration and the Democrats have done a superb job when it comes to portraying Americans who refuse to get the COVID-19 jab as uneducated or conspiracy theorists who dwell online in their mother’s basement. While it shouldn’t be that shocking, those who are fighting against the COVID-19 jab aren’t against a person getting it, they just don’t believe it’s the government’s right to mandate a drug. And it goes much deeper than just a few mandates or even the outlandish mask protocols that did little to help as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. released a call to action on Sunday warning of the dangers of relinquishing freedoms to the government.

Palestinian leaders are burying their own dream

The Palestinian residents are sick of PA rule and most of them would take Israeli citizenship if they could. Meanwhile, Hamas has proven unwilling to exist as an “upgraded” PA and answers Israel’s concessions with threats and rockets.

By  Prof. Eyal Zisser, ISRAEL HAYOM    Jan 2/22

Last week’s meeting between Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas drew harsh criticism both in Israel and from the Palestinian public. But it seems like this criticism actually benefitted the guest, Abbas, and possibly his host, as well, since it gave them both some relevance – if not on the ground, then at least in the media.

However, bringing Abbas back from the dead does not change the reality. The Palestinian Authority lacks the ability to govern or influence, and apparently any real support from the Palestinians, as well. In any case, it cannot and apparently has no desire to serve as a real partner for Israel in finding a solution that would end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Jan. 6 Is the USA’s Own Tiananmen Square

By J.B. Shurk, AM THINKER

Two symbolic events in the struggle for human freedom over oppressive government transpired last month with barely any notice from the American media.  The first was the thirty-year anniversary of the collapse of the Soviet Union.  The second was the Chinese Communist Party’s removal of monuments commemorating the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre that occupied sacred ground on Hong Kong university campuses, including a replica of the famed “Goddess of Democracy” statue that was erected in the square just before Chinese military forces killed, kidnapped, or crippled thousands of students and workers pleading for individual liberty.

America Sticks Out Its Tush

By Mark Steyn, JWR    Jan 3/22

America has cut to the chase — indeed, beyond the chase. We have reached that moment in Blazing Saddles when Mel Brooks throws away the script, and the brawling cowboys on one Hollywood soundstage crash through the wall into the next soundstage and start slugging the gentlemen of the chorus rehearsing a dance number called “The French Mistake”

Throw out your hands!
Stick out your tush!
Hands on your hips
Give ’em a push
You’ll be surprised
You’re doing the French Mistake…

OH SPADINA ! Foundational memories for me

T. Belman. When the US closed its doors to Jewish immigration 100 years ago, Polish Jewry emigrated to Toronto during the next 30 years. My parents came in the twenties. My father’s family were communists and my mother’s family were Zionists. I was born into this world in 1937. It left an indelible mark on me.

Life in the Stone Age

By Victor Rosenthal

Almost every day that passes sees attempts to murder Jews, because they are Jews. Some of these can even be called attempts at mass murder. No, I am not only talking about rockets launched from the Gaza strip and aimed at Israeli towns and cities. I am referring to something which almost never makes the news outside of Israel, and often goes unmentioned even here: what I have called “small-time terrorism,” which includes firebomb and rock-throwing attacks against Jews.

If you think rock-throwing is only an annoyance, watch the video here and think about this: a rock thrown from an oncoming vehicle at one in the opposing lane strikes its target at a velocity equal to the sum of the speeds of the two vehicles, plus whatever the thrower adds to it, less a bit due to air resistance. So a rock thrown at you from a car traveling at 100 km/h (60 mph) may hit your windshield at more than 200 km/h. Let’s say the rock is 10 cm (4.1”) in diameter; it will weigh nearly 1.5 kg, or more than 3 pounds. A brick could weigh twice as much.

Make Peace, not War, with Russia

Our current policies will only strengthen the Sino-Russo Axis and make inevitable a World War III that the U.S. will lose.  Opinion.

By Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, INN

The Sino-Russo “New Axis”

The alliance between Russia and China is the greatest military threat ever posed to the U.S. and the Free World, not least because Washington has been so tardy in recognizing the growing peril from the Sino-Russo “New Axis” that now threatens to escalate the New Cold War into World War III.

For decades, Russia and China have:

Minister Yoaz Hendel: We must respond to violations of our sovereignty

Minister Hendel: Response to Gaza rocket fire should be such that our deterrence will not be eroded.

ARUTZ SHEVA

Minister Yoaz Hendel (New Hope) commented on Sunday on the rocket fire from the Gaza Strip towards central Israel, telling Radio 103FM in an interview that Israel must respond to any violation of its sovereignty.

“We have been in a war of attrition against the Gaza Strip since the Disengagement and from time to time we find ourselves in a military operation. To this day, the State of Israel has not decided what it wants in the Gaza Strip. Until that happens, the most basic thing is that we must respond to any violation of our sovereignty and the response should be such that it does not erode our deterrence,” said Hendel.

UK warned it would recognize Palestine if Israel annexed West Bank, book reveals

T. Belman.  Now we understand just how invested in the two-state solution Europe is. That is not to say Israel should give in to the pressure. Instead Israel should make certain to eradicate all EU financed illegal Arab construction in Area C. Also Bennett must stay true to his commitment to not freeze settlement construction. In fact he should announce more construction and not back down from building in Atarot which is in northern Jerusalem

Weeks before Netanyahu’s July 2020 target for controversial move, British envoy to US surprised American counterparts with threat, said it would lead to others following suit

By TOI STAFF     1 Jan 2022,

The United Kingdom’s ambassador to the United States warned the Trump administration in June 2020 that if Israel went forward with plans to annex large parts of the West Bank, London would officially recognize the State of Palestine, a new book has revealed.

The message was passed along by Karen Pierce in a meeting she held with then-US president Donald Trump’s Mideast peace envoy Avi Berkowitz and Iran special envoy Brian Hook on June 12, 2020, Israeli journalist Barak Ravid wrote in his book “Trump’s Peace.”

The escalating international war against Israel

Israel has no choice but to fight the U.N.’s new permanent inquisition against it, and any business, government or judge that uses its reality-free reports.

By Caroline Glick

At the U.N. General Assembly last month, a large majority of member nations voted to lavishly fund a permanent inquisition against the Jewish state. The member states funded the operation of an “ongoing independent, international commission of inquiry” against Israel.

The commission, run by outspoken haters of Israel with long records of demonizing it and its people, was formed by the U.N. Human Rights Council in a special session in May. Its purpose is to deny and reject Israel’s right to exist, its right to self-defense, its right to enforce its laws and its citizens’ rights to their properties and to their very lives.

The Council’s decision to form its new permanent inquisition constitutes an unprecedented escalation of the political war the United Nations has been waging against Israel for the past 50 years. To grasp the danger, it is necessary to understand how Israel’s foes operate at the United Nations and how their partners in Europe and Israel itself operate.

Putin: “Insulting Muhammad is a ‘violation of religious freedom”

T. Belman. Putin is thus favouring freedom of religion over freedom of speech. But Freedom of religion simply means the right to think, express and act upon what you deeply believe, but it doesn’t also protect your beliefs from criticism nor your feelings regarding your beliefs.

Islam is not only a “religion”, it is also a political system that impinges on the rights of others, big time.  We must protect our right to criticize it. In the US, freedom of speech gives you the right to urinate on the stars and stripes and to attack belief in God or Jesus. Surely it also gives you the right to attack Mohammed.

Days ago, Russian leader Putin stated that insults to Muhammad were a violation of religious freedom and of the sacred feelings of people who profess Islam. He went even further to cite “as an example the attack on the editorial office of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris after its publication of cartoons of the prophet.”

Now Jamaat-e-Islami is hailing Putin over his comments, calling Putin’s stand a “great effort to mitigate rising Islamophobia in West.” Note that jihadist countries do not focus any significant attention to China’s “Islamophobia.”

Gantz promotes ‘Equality Law’ & IDF reform – Shaked opposes

T. Belman.

“Minister Ayelet Shaked and other members on the right fear increasing the maneuvering space of the High Court, when it comes to issues of identity and national rights.”

They are right, of course. Just as the High Court wreaked havoc with the Basic Law on Dignity“, it will wreak havoc on the Equality Law. It will do this even if the law is amended to stipulate that nothing in the law shall be construed to give citizens national or identity rights. The High Court will find a way.

Given how the high Court has defined “dignity” there is no need for the Equality law.

The Minister of Defense plans to promote the enactment of two Basic Laws, which are supposed to supplement the Nationality Law of 2018, and to promote reform in the IDF service.

ISRAEL HAYOM

Defense Minister Bnei Gantz is expected to advance three laws in the coming weeks, designed to solidify Israel’s national identity.

These are the Equality Law, the Basic Law of the Declaration of Independence and the reform of the service.

According to Ganz, passing these laws would complete the Nationality Act that provoked a public outcry when enacted in 2018, and eliminate the need to amend it.

Bennett Is Sure His COVID Policy Is Right Amid Surging Infection Rates, Unrest in Cabinet

T. Belman. Why does Bennett remain silent on HCQ and IVM?

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett reckons that by the middle of next week, the first of 2022, the daily number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel will reach about 10,000. By the end of the week, it will soar to 25,000, at least. Double the peak number chalked up in January of last year. And so on. Doubling and doubling, until the slowdown phase that might come only in about two months.

In light of such figures, the considerable loosening of quarantine procedures that were decided upon in the past two days were inevitable. Otherwise, millions of Israelis would be entering preemptive quarantine; that is, a de facto lockdown and a mortal blow to the economy, which would come to a standstill.

Biden Administration Must At Least Help Any Country Trying to Confront Iran’s Mullahs

by Majid Rafizadeh, GATESTONE INSTITUTE

  • While the mullahs are using religion to justify their mission of taking over the region, they are more likely attempting to take control of all the oil in the region; they appear to be advancing their hegemonic ambitions to this end.
  • Iran has for decades been encircling the Middle East — in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq — by building a squeeze maneuver known as the “Shia Crescent; ” it has been trying to unseat the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through Iran’s Houthi proxies in Yemen, and it long ago attached itself to South America’s most oil-rich country, Venezuela.
